bigdaddyk
Little late with the TR. I got out a little later than I wanted to. I ended up leaving the house at 6am and made it to Bell at 9 am. I dropped my phone, while loading the car, and broke it, so no pics. The temp was 31 degrees and it was cloudy. The clouds quickly gave way, though. They got 2 inches of snow, the day before. The trees were still white, on the upper half of the mountain. The snow was nicely groomed cord. The upper half of the diamonds were a little rutty, though, because the snow was wet. I did 8 runs off of the hs quad, then made my way over to the tomahawk for the rest of the day. I did 17 runs off of that lift, with 12 of them being on the lower half of Dot Nebel. The snow was really nice hero snow, on the lower section, and was perfect for wide carves (lots of snow too). On one of my runs down deer rune, I found out how it got it's name. I had three large deer jump out right in front of me, and had to hockey stop, to avoid hitting them. I went back over to the east side for one more run, which was a bad move. I took one run across ridge run, to arch across the mountain. This is a slower run to begin with, but the glue gun was used on the entire length of the run, because the sun had warmed the fresh, wet snow. My last run, I had to fight to keep from falling, because it was extremely sticky....I should have stayed on the west side. The coverage was pretty good and I used my good skis. Overall, it was an excellent day. I spoke to an employee and they said they hope to stay open through Easter.
