Sometimes the mashed potatoes can have a small hole in them, but don’t ask Doug about that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

I grew up in New Jersey. A lot of my family is there. I could never live there.2 points

Eaf, I'm in the minority here, but you've convinced me to check it out. I like exploring new mountains even if they're not a Vail, Killington, or Blue... ...oh wait, a stand up gondola? Nevermind, I think I'll have to pass.2 points
-
No it's not a childish attitude. I'm not afraid or hesitant to try anything new. I started skiing when I was in my mid 40's, not many people will do that, love it and stick with it. Anything I've ever read or heard about Mountain Creek sounds like it sucks. Why would I waste my time or money?2 points

Eaf when was your last time at Mountain Creek? You make any progress with the babes from the Gondoobie? Maybe if they know you're friends with somebody with RTMs they'd be impressed2 points

Because you spent 4 Hours on that stupid lift looking at trails that they closed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Get on some wide skis and go fast and use a lot of power in your turns and you should be just fine getting through the mashed potatoes..in a typical warmer ski season you're gonna encounter spring conditions a lot so might as well work on your mashed potato skiing. Get forward and power through them.2 points

Wow just wow. Snowboarders are usually shorter as their growth is stunted from starting to smoke cigarettes in 7th grade.2 points

Snow was freaking good, soft and fast. Bumps were DEEP, but mainly in good shape except for a few icy spots here and there to keep one on their toes. They had Terrain Run closed with rough grooming of recently blown snow, so you had to do a little pike over to Central Park, if you came down that side. They fired up the guns on Challenge about 8:45, but with a steady breeze blowing out of the Northeast, most of it was blowing back at the guns and over to Mount Mik; might get a dusting to an inch there. Glad I was able to break away and whip out a few runs before the weather starts going downhill for a bit. Hopefully it doesn't impact the snow too much for the weekend.2 points

Do you actually watch the weather forecast and or have experience with ski conditions??? Thursday it's only gonna be in the 40s and it's January not gonna be extreme mashed potatoes..not enough warmth or traffic or sun angle for that. It doesn't go from solid to mashed potatoes that fast it's an entire transition could be some really nice corn snow. It's not black and white there's a gray area. Friday is a monsoon although forecasts change a whole 60 hours out. Saturday maybe a little lingering rain low crowds nice snow and Sunday icy death but that means the snow is fast and you can see if you need your edges sharpened or not. I ain't tripping. Looks like a nice stretch of skiing and with the Jerrys and Salty anus's on the fence could be less than normal crowds for the doctor Martin Luther king junior holiday. I don't think it will be a white MLK day..sorry boys and girls I work that day anyway.2 points

I'm also seeing a women's forum on the side. When the trash talk here gets rough and discussions of eating meat and pooping threaten to send me to the fainting couch, I go there for nurturing and uplifting commentary delivered with multi-layered emotional intelligence and tact. Nah, just kidding, we mostly talk about boys, shoes, and how hard math is.2 points

Frankly I haven't been too fond of MC before... Snow is often not too good, it's warmer than everywhere else, the peaks often become disconnected because of snow again, but today certainly is great! Kinda early spring conditions with wettish snow, but no slush. Three peaks to choose from, Bear peak is almost completely taken by racers. There are tons of them today. Whoever said that it's a loooong walk to the lodge, you chose wrong parking! Next time go to South lot. Lodge is right across the road with two expresses immediately behind. I completely forgot what the terrain looks like! Got to study the map again. They have since upgraded the ticketing to use RFID, and it appears to be identical to Blue's.1 point

Not skier vs. boarder, but sliders vs. everyone else... https://www.realskiers.com/revelations/a-brief-explanation-of-why-skiers-are-better-than-everyone-else/1 point

Yeah, you're right. I should've said "irrational" or "conservative", children generally are more inclined to explore. You all crack me up. "I've read it sucks", "I've studied map, and it's no good". I've just been there. It's awesome NOW. Don't know what's gonna be there in a week or two. I admit, on average snow here is not good. But you're all like a broken record. True Blue... Light of Blue... Really, whatever makes you feel good. Yeah BM is great. This doesn't mean there's not something better. Come out of your comfy circles and see for yourself.1 point

And I'll be the slowest skier on the mountain Blue pants and black jacket. FKS bindings, that I love dearly after hitting some kind of weird mini trench today.1 point

Fun tonight. I arrived about 4:30 to lots of cars in the lot, but lines wete non-existent and trails were not crowded. Some runs (Switch) were scrapey, but there was snow to be had on Main st, Lazy, Paradise, and Widowmaker. Taking a break now due to metatsrsal agony.1 point

Great morning at Blue. I thought the conditions were not as good as yesterday, but the snow eventually softened up. Today was also my first day on my Monster 88's. Man those things fucking rail turns. I only skied 5 or 6 runs on them and can't wait to get back on them. Fun carver. Very damp. "Long skis truck, short skis suck"1 point

Saddle Chute area off of Paradise. I don't think this was actually the Saddle Chute... but another in that area that gets less traffic because of location.1 point

damn, i have a doctors appointment in the morning and can't get to blue til like noon. after seeing these crowds im thinking of doing my annual spring mountain day tomorrow. seeing the webcam, that many people on a week day would anger me too much. weekend i could put up with it, but not a weekday when im used to 8:30-10:30 am of emptyness.1 point

Evening purple polo shirt edition 1/9/18 Hey all, I'm back from a fun night session at Blue mountain the true mountain. The drive up took about 35 minutes with minimal traffic. There were a decent amount of cars in the lot and the temperature was in the mid to upper 30s. On the snow around 7pm and first run was nightmare to dreamweaver which was good except for a large group of borders. Next run was Razors which was enjoyable and a little spicy..after Razors did Paradise which was alright but busy with patrollers then ran into Indiggio and skied the bumps. The top section I did ok was pretty chalky second session got a little out of control on ice so was in a few lines..lower Main Street was alright pretty smooth but I was on the shiros. The rest of the session was a return to nightmare dreamweaver and Razors a few times each and I finally skied razorback.. After skiing had some parking lot beer..a 10% and a 7.5% and Johnny law was also in the house..all in all it was a decent night session...and so nice to be wearing my purple polo shirt again as it's been awhile of dressing like an astronaut.1 point
