Just got back from a day at Blue with my 7 year old son. Called him out of school and got on the sixer at around 9:50. Started with Paradise since this was his first time out this year. Took a few turns for the little man to get in the swing of things, then we were off and shredding. Did paradise 4times, Burma twice with the yeti park, lazy twice, switchback once. Run of the day for us was sidewinder to the lower park, to the 2 big roller jumps next to the six pack. We did that 4 times. My sons favorites were anything that had jumps, I think he’s gonna be a park rat. Got a pretzel in the lodge and he passed out like a champ on the ride home. Despite pretty crappy conditions was one of the most fun days out for me! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk11 points

Last day. Skied Blackcomb all day again. We went out last night and got turnt AF. So started slow and got on the snow at 9:30. Took it easy and only skied double blacks today since snow was best up in alpine. Started with Couloir Extreme and dropped into Jersey Cream bowl again. After that we headed back to the glacier to scope out some potential lines from the bottom. We wanted to hit Spanky’s Ladder and drop down into some different routes. The hike in was super sketchy bootpack but worse, it was just like a toe pack. Once in, we dropped into Garnet Bowl and then skied another chute into Diamond Bowl and out. We ended up hiking in 3 times and taking different runs each time. I can’t remember the rest of the names. Maybe Ruby Bowl, Zut Zut, and Wild Ride. Probably some of the gnarliest terrain I’ve skied. Not many pics today, and those that we do have don’t do it justice, it was just Kevin and I out in these areas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

100% bullshit. GTFO The best part of winter is about to arrive. Spring Skiing. The best sun, snow, on-mountain vibe, parking lot action, and hijinks is yet to come.3 points

Nah, some threads are like jazz performances: you start out with a theme and then see where the other players go with it. Eventually, you return to at least a faint homage to the original melody. And sometimes one member of the band is kind of an asshole and can only play the recorder but thinks he's John Coltrane, but what are you gonna do?3 points

Took a run up after work to check out the conditions and they were less than what I expected. Hoped that it hadn't set up, but everything was set up solid. There was nothing loose anywhere that I could find. Top of Barney's was a tad bit icy...2 points

i like the grocery stores that have an invisible fence like people have for dogs, but instead it is for shopping carts. fun fact...some homeless guy at the eagles parade turned a shopping cart into a carcoal grill and was selling warm food to people2 points

JADIP @ TLCITW..... the little cabin in the woods... Excellent conditions on the mtn. Entire mtn open including Lehigh. True packed powder with 1-2" fresh today. Still snowing very fine powder. Too bad rain in the forecast could ruin it. [emoji34][emoji34] Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk2 points

Blue rolled back their pricing this year...pricing is simply what the market will pay. Jackson hole charges $136 for a single day lift ticket good from 9am-4pm. It seems like a lot but you can get deals when booking airfare/lodging packages through central reservations. I feel like most local ski resorts run on pretty thin margins and in warm/snowless winters they likely lose money. Reselling a daily lift ticket is considered theft of services. Lift tickets are non transferable.1 point

If you can't have fresh pow out west then sunshine is second best. The worst days are the low vis/flat light days.1 point

Another good day today. Spent the entire day on Blackcomb. After we got all the way up to the top we we worked our way over to the 7th Heaven area which had great snow yesterday so we wanted to get there first today. We had some really good turns down Xhiggy's Meadow back down to the lift for a ride back up. It was windier over there today, and when the wind blows through the mountains and bowls it sounds like a fucking wind ensemble and is absolutely beautiful to listen to it while standing in an open bowl 8000' in the air. I've never heard it so clearly before. I love this place. I guess that is where a lot of the names come from - Flute Bowl, Symphony, Harmony, Piccolo, etc. Back over in 7th, Kevin, Doug, and I traversed out to the Lakeside Bowl and dropped just out of bounds where there was some fantastic snow that people didn't want to put the effort in to get to. After 7th, we dropped off the backside of Horstman and took the Tbar to the glacier area again and dropped into that zone again to get some great leftover snow and chalky goodness. After that run Ryan and Jon left to take the rest of the day easy and relax before two more days of skiing. Kevin, Doug, and I took a bunch of runs to and lift rides and eventually made our way back over to the top of Jersey Cream Bowl and dropped in through Big Bang and Couloir Extreme for some fantastic turns in The Jersey Cream Bowl. After that and the long run out, it was about 2:00 so we called it a day, after the best run of the day. Grabbing some sushi and whatnot tonight. I was wrong, cougar night is tonight. Drinks and such later. Pics to follow.1 point
