Snow report says 7”, so looks like I’ll have some powder on day 1 although on limited terrain and a tiny base. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk6 points

Bumps were pretty awesome. Top set on Barney's were meh. Bottom set $$$. Nightmare was good but to short so only did once. Bumps on challenge got real small ??? Massive sublimation going on. Snow got better as day transitioned into night. Glad I made the trip4 points

Interesting day at Taos but really fun. First, man are they hurting for a base. I’ve never seen Al’s with so much shit poking through in the 30 years I’ve been going to Taos. Neither of the ridges is open and part of the backside is still closed. The good thing is that 7 inches fell at the base and was much more up high. I started out on the frontside and skied lift 8 for a while when waiting for the backside to open. About half the runs were left ungroomed which made for some nice boot to knee deep perder turns. I kept going up lift 2 to check if the backside was open and on my third time up I noticed the rope was gone and proceeded down honeysuckle. Got probably 3rd tracks down walkyries bowl and because I know some local tricks, I knew that Bobs would be good if it was open. After coming down walkyries, I snuck around lift 7a’s bottom shack and entered Bobs run which was knee deep and I had first tracks. I followed bobs down under lift 7 and had untouched powder the entire length of lift 7. I did that routine 3 times and was exhausted. After a little break I searched the sides of trails for what was left. I saw some prep going on on some of the upper steeps which look almost ready to go. Possibly some snow for Thursday so my fingers are crossed. My pics aren’t great, I wasn’t stopping to take off my gloves in the morning and it was cold as shit all day. Took it down in first place with a total of 63 points, closest competitors had 54 I think. Team we are usually fighting it out with blew the bonus question and finished last with 7. Two weeks left for anyone who wants to get some glory. Next week is 90's themed trivia.3 points

Grill will be there. My buddy will be on an 8 hour ticket and likely using it all, so not sure how long I'll be out before breaking. Probably his only time out this season, he's going through a thing I bought him a ticket to get out and get away from everything. So pretty much whatever he wants to do is where I'm at3 points

First place after round 1 with 7 out of 10 correct. Think we got 8 of 10 in round 2 but missed a couple of easy ones so probably lost the lead2 points

Assholes of the highest caliber. That empty parking space didn't block itself for two hours, after all. Watching people drive into that park-tastrophe, look to their left and see the non-space space---the spark of hope extinguished almost immediately--followed by the thousand-yard stare of resignation. My god, that was first-class assholery.2 points

The guy who waited for 10 minutes to take my spot when I was de-booting was driving a Tesla SUV. I was tempted to move even slower just to keep draining his battery.1 point

They're dumb ass's for showing up so late. Shit Root can make opening from almost NYC so can these peeps. I will say a lot of these people had nearly $100,000 SUVs so they are probably doing well in the rat race or just have enormous lease payments to keep up with the Kardashians.1 point

If your 11 yr old is entering 6th grade they hopefully they have a deal coming as good as last year . Last year they emailed me a deal for kids leaving the 4th&5th ski free program. $60 for full season pass at Blue. Great deal that we took advantage of (including the buddy pass)1 point

I should probably make JH happen again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Ski good or eat wood??? Anyway don't let the injury discourage you..don't let it get in the way of future ski trips..I remember your first day skiing Jackson hole how you said 8am to 9am..booting up, getting ticket, waiting for lift to open was gonna be the longest hour of your life...just be happy this didn't happen while you were by yourself in the Hobacks..1 point

Had a feeling Blue was gonna drop a nice deal. $399 is a steal. Only downside is Blue will sell more season passes which means more people at the turnstiles at 8am1 point
-
I hope you do. Having a season pass just gets you out more. I hope more people get passes to Blue at that price point. It is near impossible to beat.1 point
-
I give you props you're good spirited and probably drive farther than most for day trips.1 point

Nah, they confirmed no youth rate. True I do not make Blue opening or night ski like many of you folks do and I often hit Blue on weekdays to avoid crowds. I do often post what I will be wearing in case anyone wants to come say hi.1 point

Thursday and Friday I'm slammed with stuff at work. My business partner asked me to make a call tomorrow afternoon to a client that he couldn't get in touch with and I said sorry I can't I'll probably be intoxicated. He's a pushy mofo..can't wait till Thursday and he can't make a fucking phone call himself.1 point

Nice morning at the Frost. 21 Runs in before 1. Skied right onto the lift the whole time. Enough coverage in T Bolt Glade and Happyland for plenty of turns there, as well as on the slope beside the first headwall on rivershot. Bumps on Exhibition had some ice visible between them but we're completely skiable top to bottom even for a mogul gape like me. Girls learned a new trick, skiing a run on their own (I could still see them from the next trail over just in case) and meeting me at the lift.1 point

Ha, that would have been awesome! Shoot, I've been teaching teenagers since forever--been trolled at the varsity level more times than I remember. Salty's page wasn't even freshman-team material from what I hear (I never saw it). I approve of his instinct to punch back, though. Varsity work, exhibit A, below. At least this kid accurately captured my cardigan game.1 point

Having a season pass will save you money. You get like 1 and 1/4 ski seasons with it. Use credit card1 point

Bummer. It is a good place to check out on a warm day so you can sit outside at the bar. It may be small, but it is what you make of it. It is no Blue, but there is a small-hill, small-town feel to it unlike the Camelback circus.1 point
