So I've finally decided to join and post after living vicariously through you guys all season. The GF and I made it for the last of our triple play today. We found widowmaker to be the best run for us. Overall I found the conditions to be great, despite the gf's objections But without a doubt, Blue Mt is our favorite in the area. Wish it made sense for us to do season passes. Oh well, there's always paskiandride to help me live the dream.5 points

Day 7 - Snowbird Better snow, crowds. After 5 consecutive days skiing we were seriously debating staying at Alta for our final day and take it easy. But, we decided to finish the trip off at Snowbird. We took our time with breakfast and getting over to the hill. First up was a couple of warmups in mineral basin, then we made our way over to gad 2 area. We spent most of the morning exploring that terrain...lots of nice trees and bumps. Lunch was brats and sauerkraut at mid gad. Tasty tasty indeed. After lunch we headed up to the knucklehead traverse area and then over to the organgrinder area. We finished the day with a run down tiger tail and pearly gates. Few ppl were in that area, so we had nice chalky snow conditions. Overall it was a very good trip. Good snow and good ppl. Staying at GMD was the right call and will most likely stay there again when we return. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

I know, I'm so sorry! I really wanted to be there Sunday! I would stay through the weekend if I could, but my mom (who is a bit disabled because of a household fall a while back) has been having a hard time trying to be independent living in rural VT without being able to drive, etc. Her house just sold so my siblings and I are doing a quick hustle to get the place packed up, stuff sold, and her moved into her new digs down in Providence (senior living community). I need to be up there tomorrow to coordinate with my sister, who's leaving Monday. Anyway, that's a lot of info to say that I'm super sorry I won't be able to say goodbye in person. But I do want to say it's been a pleasure meeting you all and I appreciate everyone's friendliness both in person and on the forum. This place is a great source of general information and awesome trip reports, but it's also such an absolute riot to read that I'll keep checking in for sure! Have a great time Sunday. I'll raise a glass to you all from the Green Mountains tomorrow! Very best wishes! Sally5 points

Arrived early with my kid. Snow was great early on. Also got stuck on the 6er when it went down. Wasn't terribly long but enough to divert the masses to the quad. Called it a day after that. Fun morning still4 points

Dont get me wrong, they certainly have their shortcomings. It's about the quantifier. One can only do so much with a shitty, unpredictable climate to make snow and are left to fend for themselves when riot police are more appropriate to handle a typical weekend crowd. Alas, have no fear. I won't actually post much because I won't really have much to add. No inane TRs a la Salty and his RTMs3 points

Hey errybody. Pulled into the lot at 720 and ended up on the 3rd chair up. The first run was probably the most fun I've had all season, first person down a perfectly groomed packed powder lazy mile and managed to link together all of the stuff Ive been trying in the lower park. I could have left and been happy! Speaking of the lower park, absolutely perfect from 8-930. After that it was switchback(awesome) and challenge with dumb golf ball sized ice balls but otherwise nice. After that it was the bumps. Wow! So much fun after they blew an inch+ and challenging as some of them were pretty deep. I ate it pretty good on the bottom section . then Burma and challenge again. This is when the lift stopped, for me right in front of the pole jam. They emptied the lift and I saw a few PASRs at the bottom them.. you guys bounced but the lift was back up within maybe 4 minutes. I finished with sidewinder, burma, bumps and switchback for 10 runs. Went and chilled with the PASRs that left for a little while. Ill be up tomorrow early am and look forward to meeting you all. I'll probably be the only snowboarder so you'll know who I am, come say hi!3 points

Blue look badass from a distance too. Vermont jokes aside but if you're ever pulling in to Elk from the north side of the mountain and you get to see the slopes from a distance it also looks pretty badass. Took this last time I was there.3 points

About rutvegas ? I always wanted to write a skiing version of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance where it's partially a guide book to skiing, eating and experiencing VT and partially a collection of random ass funny shit that kind of explains VT.....place is so strange in a way, if you hang out there any decent amount of time you run into funny weird shit.2 points

Day 6 - Alta Better snow, still sunny. Busy day exploring more of the supreme, sugarloaf, and backside areas. Day started out pretty cold, but warmed up quickly...snow was a bit stiff but softened nicely by mid-morning. We met up with another lady from the ski diva site and two random guys from GMD that we met in the hot tub days before. Good time skiing with them all. Tomorrow is either Alta or Snowbird. What an epic day at Vermont. Woke up at 6:15 and headed up Interstate 81. Stopped at Burger King near Montage for two Croissanwich and OJ. Then finished the trip to Vermont and arrived just after 8 am. Earned first civilian chair, as there was no one even in line at 8:25 which was crazy. First run of the day was the blue on the left, I think it's called Delaware or something, which was totally rad. 2 inches of fresh fell over night, a nice bonus. Next run was on Susquehanna, my favorite trail there, and maybe my favorite trail ever. That was a blast, as there was also a light coating of fresh perder. Later I broke my personal speed record on Susquehanna and hit a legit 55.3 MPH, which was even faster than my previous record on Razor's Edge. And to the skeptics, I have proof on my phone and I matched the app to my car's speedometer and the app tracks speed perfectly, so this is probably a world record or something. Throughout the day, made my way across the mountain and think I skied every trail. I even did Upper Tunkhannock one time, and realized I don't think I'll ever like skiing moguls. I like going fast and skiing on smooth snow, and moguls just aren't my shtoyle. So I concede to Indiggo for this Sunday's mogul race (still not cleaning Steeze's car). Sorry Rummy and Momskeeztoo, the snow was so damn good today that I didn't get around to checking out your suggestions. I'll have to check out the Halfway House and the restaurant next year when I return to Vermont. The best run of the day was near the end, on a black called Wyalusing or something. Around 3 it started snow squalling heavily and dumped lots of fresh, and it was so sick having FirstTŗax that late in the day. There was hardly anyone there all day, so by late afternoon the fresh snow was completely untracked. Overall a fantastic day at Vermont and another successful day out. Made 40 runs and achieved almost 30k in vert to add to my stats.1 point

Today was the day to be at Le Massif. Since I had been lucky enough to hit Le Massif last year on a pow day, my expectations were skewed, and yet, today delivered on those expectations. We were expecting a storm total of about 10”-12”, but we woke up disappointed to just more than an inch in the hotel parking lot. Despite the lack of snow, we still got on the road by 8:10 in case we hit some inclement weather. The further northeast we got, the heavier the snow became, and the colder it got. The wind was really whipping, but the road conditions weren’t poor enough to slow us down. The parking lot was a little more full than yesterday, but we were still able to get on the lift by 9:15. We followed the same game plan as yesterday in terms of lift service, but I finally decided to dig into the trees in earnest. About 4” of snow had fallen, and it continued to dump. The wind was really whipping at the top, which also helped to refresh the trails. I did back to back glades, and the only bare spots were at the very top where it was steep. Lower down, the snow was soft, deep, and the coverage was full. My next run was down an open trail, but it was already starting to bump up with soft snow. Following the third run, we decided to head down and do some t2b runs off one of the HSQs. We went to far skiers right where I hit some more trees. Being slightly steeper, they had some more bare spots than the previous runs, but once the pitch flattened out, those glades were also quite enjoyable. We also went over to the ungroomed expert only section and were met with mostly untracked powder and some huge drifts. The snow was starting to bump up on the well traveled runs, but it continued to dump. After a handful of runs off that lift, we grabbed our lunch and headed to the bottom to eat. After a good lunch break, we went back to the first lift and repeated several runs we had started with. Since it was later in the day, the trail traffic was significantly less than before and the snow was piling up. The woods were absolutely phenomenal and starting to get deep. After two or three runs, patrol started shutting down some trails to funnel skiers back to the base area at the top of the mountain. I was able to sneak into the glades via an unmarked woods trail off an open trail, and was richly rewarded. We tried to sneak in an extra run, but unfortunately, we were a little too late. Overall, we ended today with 13 runs, which was one less than yesterday. However, the powder was much tougher on the legs, and 2,500’ vertical t2b routes really rack up the vert. I would say that 8” had fallen by the time we left today. Our two days at Le Massif have been phenomenal. We are packing up tonight to head back to Vermont, but we are going to try to hit Le Massif du Sud on the way back.1 point

I don’t need likes to know that I’m appreciated, unlike you. An arbitrary ‘like’ system doesn’t mean anything, especially on a piece of shit board like this, but I can tell your anxiety is increasing with every like that I get, because it shows how inadequate you really are. We get it. It’s okay. Go back to your hotel with your mashed potatoes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
