On my way back to PA to deal with some house stuff so I stopped at Magic for a few runs. It's $29 on Thursdays. So I did Wizard, a blue trail and was like holy shite what kind of blue trail has steep, narrow chutes!?!? I'm on the lift now having partially side-slipped a GREEN trail that had MOGULS. The snow is like butter and much of the mountain is ungroomed. It's been a crazy, amazing experience so far!5 points

Ascutney Outdoors just built a lodge with a donated building frame and volunteer labor. They have a huge rope tow and a grooming truck and are putting in a t-bar soon. I hope to volunteer with them; it's an amazing resource for local families who want to get their kids skiing without going broke from lift prices. Brownsville is a happening place these days; even the general store is re-opening. VT mtb festival is at Ascutney this year, too.4 points

Thanks, @Schif ! Evidently I was a textbook example of "occupational burnout" right before I quit work, so I guess I need a little time off, and I'm super grateful that I'm healthy and that I could swing it financially. I definitely downsized my living space but expanded everything else! I plan to be at Blue Saturday; hope to get to say hello-goodbye to many PASRs!3 points

Deer Valley, Park City, and Jackson Hole close the 8th as well, in case that makes anyone feel better.2 points

All the bumpers will be up at K for the mogul challenge. Saturday will be my last day at blue this season. Was hoping they would go one more weekend [emoji22]2 points

I don’t think you’d like skiing a place like mad river glen...I like the rowdiness of low tide conditions.2 points

If you are going to get uptight about skiing over rocks, at this point in the season, you should just hang your shit up. It aint gonna get better. Did you go complain to the people at Mountain Creek, or do you just complain constantly online?2 points

That shit is the best, go slower figure out a line that goes and then rip the snot out of it. The best is when you can find a line with a bunch of little airs. Snow melts in the spring, gotta stay fast and loose.2 points

My condo cost considerably less than a Sprinter van! I'm considering a Tacoma with a camper shell, though!1 point

No that ended awhile back I believe. Sally you need a touring rig. Ascutney died because the people that owned it kinda sucked and owned the now defunct Blue Marsh Area, PA trash. That's nice because the lifts don't run but the trails are still clean.1 point

Sally, I seriously am so jealous of you right now. Every day I come on here and you're having one awesome adventure after another. Way to get out there and live the dream. PS Magic Mountain looks awesome, really was never on my radar before but it looks sweet.1 point

Oh geez, there is certainly nothing to complain about here. Skied some dirt, skimmed a few puddles, overturned a couple of rocks. MC is completely melt down, and their FB lies. But that's OK, that's just local climate and attitude.1 point

GSS is stuck in the 90's. Magic has new owners who have been making improvements to the facilities with the primary focus on snowmaking. They will still have a lot of natural only trails but will open in December and go as long as they can into spring. You seem like the kind of person who will love the place and the regulars there.1 point

Midweek Okemo for $279 and Magic/Freedom for around 400 I think. Not bad, eh? I don't plan to be working full time!1 point

How many season passes are you gonna buy? You’ll definitely become a bump head!!!1 point

I'm getting a season pass here for next year mainly to get on the Freedom Pass. This place will make me a better skier, I hope! I LOVE the vibe here.1 point

I own 1/1100000000th of that place. Magic is one of the coolest spots to ski anywhere, steep and if you got the skills you can go ski Timberline1 point

Wizard can be tough in spots. I'm guessing that they didn't want to groom to preserve snow for the weekend. Most of the trails are natural snow trails only.1 point

Me so jelly! Have fun! The challenge factor has been raised on Red Line with those bare spots!1 point

I see a high of 56 for Saturday, coupled with t2b bumps on Razors, skinny whips, it's gonna be hot! How I'm envisioning it!1 point

Yall are looking at it all wrong. Taking a boring catwalk to a new lift just means the mtn is large. Getting to a different zone. almost like youre in Chamonix1 point

Hey All, It’s almost another weekend...who’s gonna be at Blue mountain this Saturday 3/31? Looks like a sunny day with temperatures rising from the 30s to the 50s. Also will likely be my last day skiing Blue mountain this season. Blue is closed Easter Sunday..anybody skiing anywhere else that day?0 points
