  1. April 2. Full on winter for the last three days. Single digits and howling wind and nice dry powder.

  3. GSS asked, so this is not MY thread-jack: Sally is my old cat; I'd had her since grad school in Missouri a million years ago. She died peacefully in her sleep last year, dreaming of snuggles. She was the best. Now I have Jack. He likes yelling all the time and pooping wherever he feels like it because fuck you. He is the best.

  5. I just booked a room at the Silver Inn in Silverthorne for the first three nights of my trip...they’re booked solid Saturday night because they are hosting an event. The rate is $80 per night the first two nights and $95 on Friday night.

  6. He's actually next in line if somebody were to resign their position. Our group of moderators and administrators were actually considering him for the Statistics Manager position, since we do not currently have that.

  7. That doesn't make sense. I have to read it to know if I like it or not. That's like punching someone and then saying "shouldn't have put your face in front of my fist."

  8. Oh god it hurt my eyes to read that.

  9. Tonight was so much fun, so glad I ended up going. The mountain had a cool vibe to it the whole time. The snow was brutally slow at first but started to hardened up a bit and the conditions were great when I left at 7. THANK YOU BLUE MOUNTAIN FOR CHANGING PLANS AND OPENING UP!!!

  10. Ended up with 8 runs in about an hour and a half. Didn't enjoy them all, but I enjoyed the night. Figure I'm a better skier now than I was 2 hours ago, if only by a little bit.

  15. I’ve never been cheap. I just let the company pay for as much stuff as possible.

  16. I cant be the only one that finds it hella ironic that Doug is berating somebody for being cheap?

  17. I'll post whatever the fuck I want. Just like you do. That wasn't complaining. It was a reaction to what I perceived as negative post after negative post.

  18. Good for them. But full price? Wouldn't pay full price even during mid season. Camelback sucks.

  21. Holy crap dude. To whom is your complaining directed toward? Blue for opening or Mother Nature for dropping 6 inches in April? Either way it's ridiculous. For those of you who did the smart thing and got out early. Nice work and WTGA. Wish I could've been there.

  23. That’s badass. I have lots of fans..they all blow air in my face.

  24. Wow, a fan! I think I'm up to like 3 fans now on this whole site. Thanks tarponhead! That was epic when we met at the top of Falls on Saturday when you yelled out "it's the legendary Salty", and then a split second later Indiggio got 50+ feet of air.

  25. No need Salty, it was pure gold reading that stuff. Rock on brotha!

  26. Ding ding ding but it wasn’t working for my pass today either.. i still cant get over how good it was this morning...I can’t be picky if snow is light and dry or beefy..just skiing untracked is so great..for those struggling today in the chop it takes a lot of commitment to ski the chop well..speed is your friend and going sideways or being mellow will own you...I saw lots of skinny skis today and while I’ve skied heavy powder and choppity chop on old straight skinny skis it would be hard to go back after being on the Shiros and even mid fat skis.

  32. Sick. The lower Lazy is faster than the upper one. All because it's been scraped. So the way how you ski it is this... Use your muscles to push your way through the irregularly slow mess up, then enjoy a reasonably fast but short stretch down, then get to Home stretch and now really take your time organizing your thoughts, making a shopping list, remembering TODO items at work, all while you're sloooooowly progressing down to the lift.

  33. The snow is terribly slow+ I haven’t waxed my board in awhile. All good though it’s april! Some kid asked me on the lift if he cares if he smokes. No problem. The kid whippes out a bag of 10+ prerolls! That was a good lift ride. I was contemplating walking the rails with some jibhonks but they weren’t too welcoming when I said what’s up. Too cool maaaaaaaaan.

  34. I would try to move away from them? for me? 'cause we are pals? I know buying skis with demo bindings on them are sometimes hard to pass up price-wise, I just dont think they are as good as fixed bindings. I dont trust them and i like it when you cook shit for us. i would miss that.

  35. Resist buying them if they have demo bindings on them.

  36. I get that, i do. But i do also see how hard it would be to open your doors at the end of the season, when ticket sales are already going down, just to make "people happy". Keep in mind, we all just bought a pass for the least amount of money ever. And there is no way your cheap ass would open anything if you werent going to make a buck.

  37. Nah. They announced the 8th would be the last day, pond skim is scheduled, they have little incentive to open that weekend. There is no guarantee that they will sell enough tickets to make it worthwhile. We had this converstation this weekend....they need to learn how to extract money from season passholders on these late season weekends. Like a grill outside selling burgers, dogs, beer......maybe by scantily clad women.......whatever works. We should probably just be lucky our season was as long as it was. Businesses need to make money. I support Businesses being able to make money. I have to make decisions like this to basically not work when the weather sucks, so i get to piss people off just as much, but businesses need to make money to stay open.
