Sometimes things can be so bad it’s awesome. Like watching a mystery science theater 3k movie. Full on winter after a rain (low 20s and super windy). Made lemonade today. Skiing was “interesting” but man I had fun. Sipping on some Lawson’s now. Gonna meet #1 at prohibition pig soon for dinner. Got a voucher to smuggle and sugarbush. Game day call tomorrow. Then meeting indiggio and bumpers for bump fest at bear for weekend. This don’t suck.7 points

Wicked windy last night and cold and windy today, hooboy! Sitting by the fireplace last night when a big downdraft instantly filled the entire house with woodsmoke, then the power went out, kerplunk. Kudos for getting out today! WTGAI is the thing to say, right? WTGAI! I'm going to try to get to Bear Mtn. early enough to park on Saturday, then meet up with some late-sleeping friends for the mogul comp. I may even be in some spiffy new Lange boots that the Boot Pro is working on for me. (Blue Langes with a 92mm last, 110 flex, and a custom footbed. Swanky. Narrow.) .5 points

really Nice first hour at Copper mountain. I got buddy pass for $79..purchased some spring gloves for $35 with copper mountain logo on them. Started off with super bee lift top to bottom groomer to center village..was packed powder and hardpack with a skiff of new snow. There’s some USASA competitions going on in the center of the mountain. Right now in some woods mid mountain heading back to the base to the American flyer lift which is like a two mile long lift the. Doing some runs in the timberline area. I’ll post more pictures later I have 4G and only 1 bar. This is where I am now.5 points

Some snowboard racing for the culture and a mini cornice drop on top of the Sierra lift in some woods now near the top of the Timberline lift..was over you super bee then back to the left sides. Runs going for east to west have worse conditions than west to east based on the sun and the way traffic flows around here. Some serious hero snow mid mountain and deep slush at the base winterlike at the top.4 points

I used to lay on the shelf below the rear window of my dads Chevelle, going to Dairy Queen for ice cream. Why? just cause i could. My parents also brought me home from the hospital in a laundry basket. Yeah, times have changed.4 points

Pretty much the rules I grew up by. I remember jumping off the roof into drifted snow and nobody saying a word. Laying out on the roof in the spring to get a jump on my summer tan with just baby oil on. Making jumps out of 2x6s and garbage cans for our bikes before BMX was even an acronym. The list goes on and on...2 points

Looks like the chances for snow are slowly starting to go away. Whatever. if its gonna be cold, snow. if it aint gonna snow, 45 and sunny for the last weekend would be wonderful.2 points

Nashville is slated for a stop on our Great Americana Road Trip later this year2 points

Nashville is cool. Theres a shitload of live music, not karaoke, no DJ's, no library bands....etc. I went to the Wildhorse Saloon, i thought that was a pretty cool place, but im sure its not the only one. It may have been the biggest bar i've ever been in though. Take the HeeHawlin taxi service. Pretty neat riding around town in a chauffeured golf cart. Tons of good BBQ too.2 points

So I needed another day on my new boots this season. Since I will be out of town this weekend, and unable to attend closing festivities at Blue, I decided to just suck it up and pay to go to the Camel. Conditions pretty good, soft, but not too soft. There's only 1 green and 1 blue trail closed, I think. Someone that works here told me they sold about 100 tickets, rest are season pass holders. Did a quick 18 runs in 2 1/2 hours. I haven't been here in years. Blue definitely has more challenging terrain, and Blue's parking lot scene much better. Nobody tail gating here. But I am glad I came, new boots are working out. Only complaint is they will not be as warm.1 point

It was on the list at the first concert I played with a group called Stonehenge (pre Spinal Tap) in grade 10. As was, of course, Stairway. :-) Helped that I was recording in Lahaska, so I often went there on my way home from Poconos. Plan to finish recording a week from today.1 point

Things my parents did back then as parents would just be off the charts unacceptable by today's standards. They let me play on the roof. And, Actually, the only thing the cops cared about was that i lived there. I was probably coming home to an empty house after school sometime like 4th or 5th grade. I was allowed to ride my bike pretty much where ever my legs could take me. I never wore a seatbelt. They were uncomfortable and un-necessary. My parents didnt know where i was all the time, and it wasnt a big deal. i always made my way home at some point for dinner, and they were never concerned that i might be shooting up a school. The house was unlocked 95% of the time. We never locked the cars.1 point

My dad used to let my brother and I ride in the back of his pick up with the cab on it. In winter when nobody was in OC he would drive all over the road with us in back and we would be rolling around back there laughing our asses off.1 point

I remember my dad stuffing the lap belts inside the seat cushion gap to keep them out of the way. Who needs these stupid things!?!? I used to ride on the shelf too.1 point

Back from Murphy’s Irish pub. Had a double jack and coke and then they ran out of jack so I had two Moscow miles and father and son from Duluth Minnesota bought me a fireball shot. Also had corned beef nachos. Father and son were at copper today said it went from hardpack to corn to mush today. They drove 1100+ miles here with a stop in Missouri on the way to see a brother/son play lacrosse. Tomorrow they’re doing Loveland and ABasin for the hopeful Perder day Friday. amazing it’s only 10:09PM but I’ve been up since 5am east coast. Just went outside had some high test..as the homeys call it,”gas” and now I’m feeling farty1 point

It’s a marijuana concentrate also called wax. I also Dab on the haters. Stopped and got two kinds of weed, chocolate bar, pipe and lighter all under $60. Prices have gone down here since my first skifari here four years ago. Now at the Cum and Go prob just get a ghetto slice of pizza..and get back on the road. I’ve already seen like 4 people who look like Johnny law.1 point

A strengthening clipper system will bring snow back to much of Vermont Friday. Clouds will arrive in the pre-dawn hours Friday and the snow comes soon after with temperatures predominantly in the 20's. The snow should accumulate 3-5 inches across the high country by the middle of the afternoon, diminish for a time and then resume as occasional snow showers Friday night. Temperatures Friday are likely to reach the freezing mark, allowing the snow to be on the wetter side in the valleys though its likely to remain powdery closer to the summits.1 point

GSS asked, so this is not MY thread-jack: Sally is my old cat; I'd had her since grad school in Missouri a million years ago. She died peacefully in her sleep last year, dreaming of snuggles. She was the best. Now I have Jack. He likes yelling all the time and pooping wherever he feels like it because fuck you. He is the best.1 point

With Blue being closed and still a desire to ski, a few of the bump heads and @tarponhead were heading up to Hunter and had a few cheap tickets to use up. Luckily the wife was gracious enough to let me go, so got picked up and made the ride. The roads on the drive up were virtually empty, probably due to it being Easter, with a few droplets of rain on the windshield. Unfortunately for one tabby cat, it gave up it's final life under the car in front of us after being harassed by some birds who drove it into the lineup of cars headed to the mountain. I can say now that I've actually witnessed a dead cat bounce! Poor kitty. Arrived in the lot around 8am with temps in the low 40s, but the mountain claiming 30's, but the snow was definitely not set up. Getting out, there was some spritzing going on but not enough to make it a problem, just annoying on the goggles. At the top, it was flurrying. Made a few speed runs first thing down the mains, avoiding some big skid marks here and there just to warm up the legs. The snow on the groomers was soft and loose, but held an edge which made the long runs a lot of fun. Decided to give some bump runs a go, but they were less than enjoyable as the temps were just not there to soften up was did set up and there were a few gotchas here and there. Drizzle changed to sleet and graupel at the top. Made our way to the West side. The run down was uneventful, as you still had to watch for skid marks. Nothing was open over there except the run down and the lift ride up. By mid morning, clouds were dropping and the top was getting socked in and light was flat. Decided to take a break. After the break, the temps were dropping and the wind was picking up, but another run down the West side saw some blue skies peeking through. Met some locals the bump heads knew, so we made a few runs with them and broke for lunch. During lunch, skies cleared and sun came out in full which softened the snow even though temps were probably in the low 40s. The snow turned hero on sun facing aspects and the bumps softened up nicely. The rest of the day was spent on bump runs until the legs gave out somewhere around 3pm, just in time for parking lot beer and drive home. Overall a pretty good Easter Sunday!1 point
