  1. Today I skied with Johnny Moseley, dude isn't as fast atomic on groomers but dude skied bumps on one leg wicked fast that I could barely ski on two. Plus he threw a huge 360 off a snow covered electrical box into the wine bar party which is the most legit move I've ever seen in skiing. Excuse my face it was super warm and I had to look directly into the sun to get the chair lift selfie.

  2. Put together a video of GoPro footage from Closing Day. Set it to Pearl Jam's "Alive" because who would have thought the season would still be alive on April 8? Warning, the content is extremely boring.

  3. I ran into him in the morning when he was with the intermediate group from my sisters old shop. First thing he said is hi I'm jonny, like I don't know who you are lol....After that he said that he was going out at 130 with better skiers, I did ask him to make mad tricks 2 but he said he's too busy selling sunflower seeds lol

  4. Sunday's forecast is for freezing rain and flaming meteors or someting equally hideous. I'm gonna ski tomorrow if I can in the morning before I have to run home and let Comcast into my life. Celebrating my Vermont residency with some Galactica.

  5. Probably take a brief hike to Hawk Falls in Hickory Run State Park after skiing. Be our second time closing out PA skison and following it up with a waterfall hike to welcome Spring.

  7. I’m only at like 800 calories so far today. 100% smaller than Root next season.

  8. Sucks you dont have free breakfast at your place, would be a great addition to the diet or food threads. Hows the diet going, off to a strong start? About 20 of us heard you proclaim you would be smaller than Root by next ski season......

  12. What about the other 1/4 of the pizza? You give it to your sea monkeys? And you know 6/8 is 3/4 you can simplify stuff with quick maths.

  17. My son and I met Glen Plake, but unfortunately it was in a ski shop and not out on the snow or I would have asked him to rip some bumps.

  18. We rode for about 3 hrs, he talked alot about being quicker in getting to the down hill ski. Also a bunch about weighting the ski correctly in the bumps but he's so far ahead its like Einstein trying to teach a monkey.

  26. ABasin 4/10...day 6 of 6 Today began with temperatures in the mid 20s and sunshine...I pulled into the lot at ABasin at a leisurely 850am and I was fifth row or so right along the snow..got my ticket and was on the Black mountain express a few minutes after 9. I had to piss bad so first ducked into some woods and ended up on some bumps under the lift. They weren’t bad..up black mountain again to Lenawee and I took a screaming fast too to bottom groomer..up black hawk and Lenawee again then the rope tow to the back side. I skied groomed part of Montezuma bowl and then woods lower down was midway through safety break and dropped lighter in snow...doh..then went up Zuma chair and another screaming groomer down the front top to bottom. Not many people out today..then took Pali to the top and skied the same route I skied on the powder day Saturday..pretty much Pali face and the spine. Wide open not quite moguls not quite chowder..took Pali lift again and skied west wall which was trying to corn up down to mid mountain lodge. I had had a Bloody Mary with coors light 8 ounce then an IPA. No soft pretzels out yet so I settled on Doritos. Talked to bartender a little and he said he works Saturday to Tuesday so missed most of the Perd but will be out tomorrow getting the leftovers. Speaking of leftovers..people were traversing a mile down east wall to get a couple fresh turns...I guess not so crazy considering what we go through for the Perder. After my break I skied into the woods below mid mountain lodge and lighter was working again then went up Pali again skied west wall still trying to corn up not that warm but very sunny. Then took Lenawee to the top and did one final screamwer top to bottom..skied right back to my car. Some cool girls were parked next to me doing impromptu karaoke last song they did was straight out of Compton. Drove Loveland pass to 70 got $32 in gas near Denver then had chili’s. At chili’s saw the Hyatt place price dropped from $199 to $149 so I called them direct and got them to take off $10 more...now posted up on the fifth floor. Flight doesn’t leave until 1030am tomorrow so I can enjoy the free breakfast. Here’s a few pictures and I’ll post more later.

  29. 4/9..Loveland..day five of six Hey All, I’m back from the fourth powder day in a row. Friday was a rider of the storm day at ABasin with several inches new, Saturday was a foot+ new at Copper, yesterday was another foot new at ABasin and today was a foot new at Loveland. The drive to Loveland took a few extra minutes with 20 degree temperatures and h why snowfall at the Eisenhower tunnel. I parked around the 6th row at Loveland a little before 8am..booted up, bought ticket for $75 and got in line at chair 1. A couple dozen people in front of me in line. Was cool seeing people getting face shots from the get go. I skied a random mainly untracked blue to the ptarmigan lift..snow was light and dry..yet still pretty beefy...managed untracked right under the ptarmigan lift down to chair 6 had some of the days best fresh skiers left of or chair 6 up chair 6 again and over to chair 9 which had recently opened I don’t think it opened until 930. I had deep untracked in the woods and two fresh runs in a row right under the lift. The flats at the top scared people off but I had plenty of momentum and scored some face shots right under the lift then some nice patches of fresh lower down. So good had to repeat I would have done it a third time but by then it was pretty tracked out so had to start exploring. I made my way back to the middle some traverses and some untracked..only real nasty skiing was one pow section over some moguls and I sent a mini cliff without even barely realizing it. Made my way back to chair one and guy I was riding it just arrived around 11 and he said it looked incredible pointing at the chowder under the lift. I’m too much of a pow hound I needed those early fresh runs.. i did did a couple hot laps off chair one..skied the same woods twice because there was so much fresh..even skied up areas skied a lot nicer than the heavier snow or previous days. It was in the teens up high and 20s low..alternating between snow and sunshine and very windy above tree line. Fourth pow day in a row and my legs were screaming around lunchtime so I skied back to my car. Smoked for the fifth or six time of the day then drove down to Silverthorne and got Wendy’s..I’m tired..probably take a nap..go to Murphy’s a final time tonight. Tomorrow either ski ABasin or Loveland then drive down into Denver where the expected high temperature is 72 degrees pretty nuts considering I’ve needed to use my ice scrapper and snow brush 4 days in a row.

  30. Awesome skiing so far. 7 untracked runs so far at Loveland. Just my way back to chair one and people are saying today is the best pow day of the season. Not many pictures today not very good visibility. I skied from lift one over to lift 9 and back to lift one. In some woods near the top of lift one now. Pretty tracked out now and a lot of people still arriving.

  33. A few more shots. This morning is incredible. I’m still finding fresh two+ hours after opening but you have to traverse for it or go in lower angel woods.

  34. I looked at the Blue webcam from the woods at Copper mountain...I skied lots of woods today and just sides of trails where untracked remained. In Frisco now having some Tortilla soup...

  35. Nice morning so far. Have skied 5-6 runs so far. Just about fully tracked out now this is my last run off the Sierra lift. I tried to take a good amount of pictures but pow pictures aren’t the same without action shots.

  36. I’ll write an actual report for today since it was so badass Left hotel at 820AM..a little later than I wanted to. Was wet snow falling in silverthorn Dillon and keystone..wet roads until the last mile or so below the parking lot. Was expecting a lot of people at 840am..booted up fast at JFDan and Ryan speed all business secured my two day ticket at 849am they needed my name and my zip code. Glad I’m not a fugitive or I’d just give my alias Mark Miller. Was about the third row of people in line I inched my way up a bit maybe 8th chair but half the people in front of me were borders or were going straight for terrain park ended up second chair on Lenawee..a miracle skating skills on fleek..ended up first civilian down power line right along the snow fence where it always piles up. People above on the lift were yelling it’s powder. Visibility was bad top third then got better new snow was shallow enough for even some low mountain meadow skipping in areas where I knew either were groomed or not usually bump runs. Bump runs owned people made the long Lenawee ride exciting some spectacular falls. Wasn’t the bro brah crowd more the Denver Dave and Chicago Carly many have season passes and only go a handful of days a year but they get after it. The weather was good or bad depending on how much you like skiing untracked snow. Snow falling was wet and sometimes ice pellets mixed in..did a run early on all the way to the base. Did a repeat of run number one again off Lenawee then rode Lenawee again and took the new rope tow over to Montezuma. It’s just a rope..I used to skate that section uphill so saves the legs and the lungs at over 12,000 feet. Over on on the Montezuma side visibility was bad up high but skiing along fences, rope lines and near lift towers often yields the most untracked. Not much competition over there for freshies most taking the two main herb roots. Mid angel woods all in play steeper ones have rocks and bumps low snowpack on that side of the mountain. A few areas of almost eastern ice where it filters to the lift. Skied a second run over there around a closed area and cut back high in order to get some hard to reach smooth freshies under the lift for a couple hundred yards...was my personal X-ing coincidently next lift ride a large group probably from somewhere exotic like Iowa or Santa Ana tracked it all up. Was probably a bump run by closing. Back to the front and I took a circuitous route to the right below the east wall to get some untracked and the woods the last couple hundred vert above the mid mountain lodge were all nice but popular as well and pee breaks easily inturupted. Skied to base again not much fresh on lower mountain got all skied up went back up the quad to mid mountain lodge. Had bacon Bloody Mary and talked to lady who works for Southwest Airlines and couple from Chicago who have season pass. None of them even left the lower mountain yet that’s why the limited runs down there were all tracked out. Had an IPA and soft pretzel drinks were cheap pretzel with cheese sauce was like $4.50. Pretty much dried out now it was snowing even harder. Free refills kind of conditions and not many people skiing Lenawee lift so that was the play. Had to get the new snow and blow over along snowfence that I skied first run my kind of spine..had to do that again then skied some woods..got soaked again and practically skied to my car.

  39. I skied several untracked and lightly tracked runs. The key is to stick to the woods and stuff that was groomed before some people gave been getting owned by snowsnakes. Snowing hard heavy and wet. Gonna do about two more runs then stop at mid mountain for a bacon Bloody Mary and an IPA and dry off a little.

  41. really Nice first hour at Copper mountain. I got buddy pass for $79..purchased some spring gloves for $35 with copper mountain logo on them. Started off with super bee lift top to bottom groomer to center village..was packed powder and hardpack with a skiff of new snow. There’s some USASA competitions going on in the center of the mountain. Right now in some woods mid mountain heading back to the base to the American flyer lift which is like a two mile long lift the. Doing some runs in the timberline area. I’ll post more pictures later I have 4G and only 1 bar. This is where I am now.
