PA just announced they are expanding the MMJ program to allow flower. Now they just need to add a few conditions and we’re in business.2 points

Headed up Saturday for a solo trip to Boulder for their closing day. Pops wasn't feeling up to it, still recovering from the crud that hit both of our houses this past week. The 10 am open was well appreciated; I really didn't feel like having having to head out hella early to get good conditions for a few runs on a couple trails. Left the house at about 9 and with a quick stop at the BK on the turnpike for a bite, was parked a few minutes before 10. Maybe 30-40 cars in the lot, not a lot of people around. Wasn't in a hurry so went inside to boot up. Dropped the bag upstairs and went down and picked up my $35 ticket. I had planned to wear a jacket shell so I'd have somewhere to attach my ticket, but it was already far too hot. Popped into the shop to see if they had something lightweight but still with a zipper, but came up empty. Ended up using my car key to pop a hole in the waistband of my gym shorts and fastening around there, hanging it out of the uninsulated wind pants I had on. Booted up and hit the snow just before 11. Took the Merry Widow lift up and skied down Mittleweig past a "thin cover" lollipop that wasn't lying. The trail was pretty much full width but not a done of depth and some dirt showing through. It was certainly skiable, but various spots of very draggy slow snow made it not so much fun. At the bottom I headed skiers right to the triple. Took note on the way up of what looked to be excellent coverage on Draufganger, and what I could see of Bunnys. Of course, the jump line had plenty of snow. Snowdrift, the trail under the triple, has never been open on any of my previous 3 or 4 visits but was Saturday. Coverage was, ah, . . . existant. I'm not sure if that trail is normally fashioned after a skiercross course, but that's certainly what it reminded me of. I ended up skiing it once just because later. Up at the top I headed down Draufganger and found great coverage and good snow. The rest of the session consisted of laps mostly down Draufganger, with one down Snowdrift, two down Bunnys (one each Elbow and Schuss) and 3 or 4 down the right side of the jumpline, off the hills at the trails edge which had the best snow I found. There is no shortage of PASR sticker relics around Big Boulder like the one below. For giggles I counted on one lift ride and confirmed stickers on at least 32 of the 70 chairs on the triple. The snow got slower as the day went on of course, and there weren't a whole lot of people having a real go at the jump line, but I managed to grab a few pics from the lift of people still sending the jumps. By the end of the session a large watery slush pond had formed at the bottom of the run to the lift. After 24 runs and about 2.5 hours I figured it was time to call it a PA season and headed up and down Mittelweig for run 25 and to end closer to the lodge. Still thinking about maybe Killington first weekend in May, otherwise that's gonna be the season2 points

I posted a pic in the bike forum. Was tempted to post it in the motorcycle forum but felt that I used up all my trolling mojo til next ski season.1 point

Comment all you like, but expect pushback if you're going to be all negative toward someone. I would assume that anyone over age 40 probably has a lot more heavy shit going on in their life than meets the eye or that they talk about casually. That's why most people try not to be dicks to each other.1 point

This was the crack route. Didn’t make it to the top of it but pretty freaking fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I think Eaf is questioning my life choices again and/or doesn't register hyperbole. Hey, if it puts your mind at ease , I'm fine financially. I do have savings. I'm simply enjoying a bit of decompression and humor before jumping back into the 40-hour world again in the next month or so. Vermont just voted in a mandatory minimum wage of $15 an hour. I could literally take ANY job here and make as much money as I made teaching high school. So no, I'm not worried, I'm very happy and optimistic for the future and aware of my good fortune. Most people I know have been happy for me in return, but you do you.1 point

Already 100% legal. Just go on craigslist and look for someone selling a $250 glass mason jar with a free ounce of weed inside.1 point

Better yet... Train trip. Newark to Boston is like 4 hours. Bring some smelly proof jars with ya.1 point

Ok Indiggio I’ll do a Good, Bad, Ugly for you. Good...Four pow days..Murphy’s Irish pub 1/4 mile away with $7 double jack and cokes and corned beef nachos, trolling the beauty section at Target when I bought travel sized toiletries..yeah there are some summit county chicks who look like Jeff Spicoli from fast times at Ridgemont high and are used to being called Bro or Dude but a lot of hot ones.. Free bottled water all the time at the Silver Inn..free breakfast there which 5 out of 6 times had butter for my bagel..the dry bagel I ate with jelly only deserves in the ugly. Pho one day after skiing which is located in a hotel restaurant in Frisco Colorado and a real locals spot..and yeah I look like a chach eating noodles with a form but chop sticks ain’t my thang. Mexican food after skiing in Frisco. Waitress aggressively tried to sell me the fried ice cream..I guess I look like the type that enjoys desserts. 95% of the people I talked to were cool...not the wallets of Jackson hole or bro brah Teton gravity mags..just skiing enthusiasts mainly from the Midwest or Denver...Southwest airlines..direct flights at good times of the day(mid morning)..free baggage..guaranteed window seat near the front of plane and ample space overhead with early bird check in...free snacks and free 5 ounce soft drink. Alamo rental car..always around $350 for a mid sized SUV for a week..quick quick quick..easiest part of my trip..almost always a bus waiting at baggage. Staying at the Hyatt Place at the Denver airport...my favorite ski trip hotel..I love it there..enough said and almost didn’t stay there because the rate was $199 but for $139 last minute. Bad...hotel shampoo...realizing my hotel where I live is much nicer than a $80-$95 a night hotel in Silverthorne..and the 49er is Jackson hole owns both the Silver Inn and where I live in the A. Having to be on the slopes mad early for good parking and pow day lineups..wah but usually on spring ski trips I can sleep in a little and still get the fresh cord...powder panic 4 days in a row is actually a little stressful and tiring. Especially at copper mountain where I had to wait 20 minutes in line for a lift ticket as more and more people got in line. Forgetting my gloves and trying to find new gloves. Place in Silverthorne only has size XS and mittons..christy sports at copper only had $150 gloves and were too warm..wah..finally found spring gloves in the center village which meant my first run of my trip was gloveless...and it was chilly. Some serious first world problems. No safety bars at Loveland...not a fan and I had middle seat a few times on the Perder day..I don’t know how people can get used to riding slippery chairlifts no bars. Yeah it’s a moving couch and I’ve fallen off couches before. The lifts with safety bars the locals are all surprised when I say coming down..shit I wanna rest my feet up as well. Ugly: Vacation constipation..almost shitting myself on ten minute drive back from Mexican restaurant..my body odor when at weed dispensary after wearing same upper body under armor three days in a row that actually overpowered the weed smell..feet were stinky as well. Buying two personal sized pizzas, cheese garlic bread and Greek salad when I had the crazy munchies..dropped almost $40 on that meal and passed out covered in Feta cheese and woke up at 2am. I couldn’t decide between meat lovers and margarita pizza don’t judge. Ugly: next credit card bill...1 point

I’m only at like 800 calories so far today. 100% smaller than Root next season.1 point

Sucks you dont have free breakfast at your place, would be a great addition to the diet or food threads. Hows the diet going, off to a strong start? About 20 of us heard you proclaim you would be smaller than Root by next ski season......1 point

Do the legs have to be shaved? Because I'm enjoying unemployment and that sounds like the sort of strenuous upkeep I'm super uninterested in.0 points
