  1. Salty here's a picture of the skis that will work better with you're cellular data plan. As you can see they are 179cm in length. Not 170...As mentioned i will likely be returning them since I ordered 186.

  2. I think salty has the ski stretcher. I think the results were less than stellar though. Send them back. Get what you ordered. Its not like you will use them tomorrow. My 2 most recent internet purchases both need to go back for one reason or another. Total pain in the ass. Has made me rethink internet purchases.

  6. I was really tempted to post a 170 joke in response to ridgeracer but deleted it. Fortunately I found topix.com where I can troll anonymously all day long and no one can get pissed off at me or bring down the ban hammer.

  12. I don't need a rubbing demonstration, but I appreciate the offer. Just didn't know you were into rubbing out in the cemetery. I guess it is a low traffic environment, though.

  13. I enjoy cutting the grass. I wouldn’t enjoy cutting other people’s grass, though.

  14. According to my friend’s, the grass cutting aspect is the most mindless part, but also the least profitable. You have to cut a large amount of lawns in a small geographic area during a short period of time to make any money. They basically keep the grass cutting side of things because it leads to the customer also wanting their landscaping done, which is a much higher profit margin business. Huge markups on the plants, labor, and design, all wrapped into one price.

  16. I have just decided, i am going to write a book. Anyone that is not me, would find the everyday bullshit i have to deal with super funny. the stuff employees come up with is priceless. An employee just stopped at a job about 4 miles from our shop. got out of the truck, left it running, and shut the door. the door somehow got locked, and his phone is sitting inside the truck. What does he do?

  17. I hope you get some good snow at Magic but they're only open Friday thru Sunday so I hope one of your weekdays off is Friday. The new owners have been making a lot of improvements. They likely won't get the Black replacement installed this year but they say the green will be running.

  20. As long as you enjoy what you do as a ‘job’ and it allows you have the life you like, you’re in a good spot.

  21. I feel like it is like any job. There are some benefits and some detractions. It also depends to some degree on how well you can compartmentalize. GSS is pretty gifted at that. Regardless of the ups and downs of business, he is able to leave it at the office when he walks through the door. Unfortunately, I have not been given that gift, especially during times of change. When things are going well, it is easy to leave things at the door. However, right now we have a couple vacancies of our own doing, trying to come up with a long term re-development plan, and we are also working on building another small new shopping center. There’s always brainstorming. It is more mentally taxing than anything. Once the new shopping center is built, filled, and the bills being paid, I’ll be much closer to being able to leave my worries at the office at night and on weekends. Overall, I wouldn’t change it. There are certain perks such as a company car and cell phone. The most important to me is virtually unlimited vacation time within reason and being able to make my own hours. The stress is tough right now, but it will get better as we wrap up these projects.

  22. All of my research has found that if new people can put up with GSS for a week, we are likely to retain them for at least two years...

  24. I’m guessing that most of them couldn’t remember their login info if they wanted to. $399 is a good deal. I think anything $500 and under is decent for Pennsylvania. Elk is out of their mind at their SP rate.

  25. And will you be able to ski on your lunch break at Six

  26. Feel free to PM them. I honestly don’t care. I like the current PASRs for all their quirks. Last season at blue was the best ski season in terms of the sheer number of PASR days. The season pass $399 deal really brought a lot of PASRs out the last third of the ski season.

  27. Come to think of it, Six closes early, so I may have a decent chunk of spring skiing time, too.
