There is a local Denver company that makes them. They are having an open house Sat I may attend. It has a queen bed which I would need for myself, husband and the dog to fit. https://itwoverland.com/boreas-xt/. My friend has one and raves about it. I think she took it to Moab like 10 times this year.
Storing it it for us will be tricky. Already have 2 motorcycles and a large motorcycle trailer.
With no warm weather in the long term forecast and short daylight hours they’ll blow every chance they get. Root Friday especially with it being so early this year would be a dream..the following weekend would be great..December 7th is about when I would expect them to open weather permitting and anything later and I’ll start getting antsy like in 2015
Once our kids are grown we are definitely going the teardrop route.
Our stupid neighborhood won't let us store the 20 footer in our yard or driveway so I pay $60/month to store it at an RV place. You might look into that, because although you have to pick it up to use it, you never have to drop it off when it needs service (glass half full). And unfortunately even tow behinds tend to need a fair bit of service.
My wife and I were looking into those as well because she wouldn't do tent camping. They are pretty cool and you can get a lot more into them than I expected. They aren't difficult to cart around either, and don't take up space when they aren't being used either.
I dont see awesome snowmaking temps for Blue for a little while. a few nights next week look marginal for a few hours. i think Toast is going to owe me that "spirited fist-bump" or whatever.
Temps at Lake Harmony look better next week. Could be interesting to see if that pans out for Boulder.
Yes Blue does...they opened the weekend before thanksgiving a few years ago. Pray for clear calm nights..overnight cloud cover is the enemy as it minimizes radiational cooling and raises the wet bulb temperature.
That’s something I need to remember to do before first ski day is clip my toenails. I don’t even start cranking my boots tight until several days into ski season. Your feet expand during the summer from wearing sandals and being barefoot a lot.
Over there in real ski country they probably reverse the schedule. Kids go to school in the summer and have off in the winter. I know that isn’t true, but I wish I lived in a world where it was...
