Leaving now. 10 Tannebaum laps in about 1:50. Well, 9 on Tannebaum and one on the closed Love Park, at least the part accessible from the lift serving Tannebaum. Hit our “waiting in line” limit. Fun to be back on the snow.3 points

We all know who you are. Everybody knows everybody, for the most part. No worries. If Doug hasn't glitter bombed you yet, you are likely safe.3 points

I wasn't talking about Blue. You said "future ski area openings." I don't think its beyond reason to think that the 10+ inches of snow that fell at Montage, laying on top of snow they already made when Blue didn't, will help that snow survive until they can blow again leading to an opening earlier than otherwise2 points

Best opening day I’ve had. Fantastic. Ungroomed on the sides from the storm. The groomed stuff is great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

i think montage posted 10 inches on their site. if no blue next week but CB opens, ill got to CB. if no blue or cb but montage, ill have a decision to make. i really dont wanna drive the extra distance for a limited montage (i like montage when northface is open), but anything there will be more vert than BB1 point

Both of them made snow every chance they could while Blue was sitting on their fans, and both got more snow from Tursday's storm. I have family in Scranton that said they got 11 inches, haven't fact checked that. Camel was really working the guns hard from what I saw on the webcams the other day. Not sure where they laid snow, but if I were them i would focus on Nile Mile, cliffhanger, Sunbowl, maybe Pocono raceway, and maybe Pharaoh/Bactrian if they want to open them as regular trails before making more snow to convert to park. That would let them focus on areas near the hotel to sell that sucker out, and areas with a grass base instead of the pavement of the waterpark up top. It would give them trails for all levels, they could give lessons on one half of Sunbowl, or could blow the lesson area up top if they wanted, since they would still have to open facilities up there for rentals. But tubing will probably be open . . .1 point

I am hopeful, but I fear that they realistically will not be able to. If temps drop lower than projected, they could be good. If they stay the same or rise, it could be dicey.1 point

They lost one night of snowmaking(Monday night) based on the new forecast. If Tuesday and wednesday nights have good snowmaking I can see them making the call Thursday for a Friday opening I’m thinking more likely a Saturday opening now if snowmaking permits.1 point

BB. Montage. Maybe Camelback. Maybe Blue. Maybe Shawnee. Temps haven’t allowed Blue to blow, but they are trying to open for Black Friday if they can.1 point

As long as it doesnt take them 5 years from showing it as "coming soon" on a trail map to actually opening it, I will give them a pass.1 point

Name a year that's been open day 1. If it's done within the first week they're open I'll be surprised. It always seems to get put off. Sent from my Life Max using Tapatalk1 point

Early season skiing it's hard to keep track of everything boots skis poles wallet keys cheese gloves goggles fleece jacket season pass beer snacks hand knit jawns helmet..hat...sometimes I find somebody in my trunk or Toast wearing my Sunglasses..shit is bananas. I hope Blue blows the area leading to the burna chair..it helps the early season lines out a lot and more people can get through scanners. I hope my pass works..that’s always an anxiety it’s like playing locker roulette with R2D2 and you only have Canadian quarters. Snowmaking Monday-Thursday..opening Black Friday...you can do it Blue.. johnny law will probably be blasting this when he rolls into the lot opening day at 7:34AM1 point

Today was the best opening day I’ve ever had. Rolled in at about 12:20, got my peak pass in about 5 minutes flat and was suited and booted by 12:50. Saw @toast21602 in the lot and we ended up waiting for 2nd chair, and essentially the first riders down this season...in PA. Between Little Boulder and Freedom park we did 11-12 runs between 1 and 245 with a quick break in there. No lift lines longer than 2 minutes except the last run on freedom at 230, although we expected it. The conditions; fantastic. Couldn’t ask for better cord with ungroomed perder on riders right (highlight of my day). I believe toast counted 18 jibs on freedom. Pretty freaking legit, but not too surprising knowing Boulder. All in all it was an awesome day and a fun day with another PASRer.1 point

Several resorts opened early today; Breck, Keystone and Eldora. I was tempted to go to Eldora but opening day with one run open decided against it. Loveland has 3 t2b runs open and they have had several feet of new snow this week. Left Boulder at 7am not figuring the traffic would be bad on I-70 with Breck opening today. There was zero traffic. Since I was about 40 min until the first chair started spinning I decided to boot up in the lodge. Omg how luxurious it felt! My new boots felt incredibly light weight and went right on my feet like butter. Did all my runs on Mambo (which is a green) just to get my legs back. After 3 runs my toes started going numb. Figured it was due to the cold. After 5 runs I absolutely could not feel them and had to go inside. Since my boots are new I am thinking I cranked them down too hard since it was in the mid 20’s with sunshine. When the blood started getting back into them they hurt incredibly bad for about 5-10 min. If I didn’t come inside I would have done a few more runs but once I had my boots off I really didn’t feel like putting them back on again. The snow was pretty nice, especially for early season. I never waited more than 5 minutes for a chair. Overall a great first day for me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Why would you waste hope on Camelback when you don’t ride there anyway?? Blue might blow tonight. It’s looking like Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights look primo for snowmaking at Blue. Could actually be a Saturday opening there. I just read their snowmaking blog and they look like they wanna open ASAP0 points
