Skied Okemo Sunday and a patroller-friend there says they'll be 75% open by the weekend. Woke up this morning to another snowstorm. Pretty great "stick season" if you ask me!

It is supposed to be crazy cold on Thursday. Maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised with bottom of Main Street, too

Yeah I always cut through there anyway. It’s like 20 foot long tops. im still mad that a few years ago I drove up just to find them closed due to inclement weather, despite it being sunny and both their phone and website stating they are open, while a security guard is telling me a hundreds others to leave. glad I saw the light and got a blue pass.

Ok, props to Blue for announcing an opening before they really have any kind of appreciable snow on the ground. Lets hope they dont pull a Camelback. So, every Blue regular is going to be there friday to ski come around, easyout, and vista, from the Vista lift? Yikes. Yeah, i guess if there is a shot at Main street for anytime this weekend, they will be blowing on it with the others.

We'll see what's crackin' when we wake up tomorrow and check the cams. Fingers crossed. I was expecting to see ski patrol setting off avalanche bombs and ski cutting the top of main street by now!

Bad thing...we need it to be clear on the marginal days. If it’s 45 for the high and cloudy and remains overcast with no fronts coming through the temperature likely drops into the 30s. If it’s 45 for the high and sunny and calm winds could drop into the low 20s easily. That’s why out west has such an advantage to snowmaking production this time of year. They can blow snow every night which almost always guarantees thanksgiving for the major resorts.

If you aren’t there right at opening be prepared for super long liftlines..perhaps an hour..just a heads up..the vista lift at max capacity can barely handle 1,000 riders per hour. Just a heads up.

Seems like they should be able to connect come round - midway - lower main street with 2 1/2 solid days of snowmaking. That's fun enough for me to make the drive. Just Vista = nope.

That’s a hell of a lot better than big boulder I think they’ll surprise us with Main Street. Otherwise it will be like three runs on vista and lines over 45 minutes long.

And in 2011 Blue opened on the 16th of December with just the vista chair and wasn’t open again until the 28th with just the vista chair again. In 2007 the January thaw hit blue hard and they were closed from January 6th-10th.

Need this cloud cover to dissipate. I heard too that smoke from the wildfires in CA have made it all the way out here! Not sure if that's a good thing (keep sunlight down) or a bad thing (cover the area like a blanket).
