  1. Took a gamble and opted for Big Boulder today over Blue. Met up with JFSkiDan around 10. Did a few laps on Tannenbaum before Merry Widow opened. First few runs on Love Park were $$$. Upper Sitzmark also opened shortly thereafter proving options from the top. Upper Sitz was also lots of fun. Snow was good overall but the cookies came out at the top of Love. Not much in the way crowds but lines did start to form on Merry Widow around 11:30 or so. Peaced out around noon. The goal for today was to be able to ski a decent run with minimal crowds and that goal was achieved so I'm cool. Oh also saw Antman but couldn't catch up with him. Great day. See y'all at Blue tomorrow am.

  4. Do you want your $39 back? I'd rather give it to you than hear you complain about Blue opening on Black Friday.

  8. Today was a great early opening day with more terrain than expected and they barely had any snowmaking weather to open and coverage is great. Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate.

  10. Hunter is a weird place. That mountain has no business having a ski resort on it, as the trails had to be blasted out of cliffs, with fences on the sides of trails keeping you from going over them. While it skis big, to me it feels like I’m just going through steep switchbacks repeatedly. It feels very manufactured for lack of a better term. I think belleayre, windham, and plattekill seem more like “normal” mountains. I think the new trails however will change the mountain dramatically as belt parkway was the only easy-ish way down from the top. The new trails look steeper than most blues do however. I was a pass holder last few years on peak pass, and eventually just kept driving to mt snow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. "We made the decision not to open this weekend given the impending two inches of rainfall over the next two days. Instead, we chose to take advantage of this unusual, 3-day November cold blast to focus snowmaking on our most important areas; a top to bottom trail plus our prime family and learning areas. Because, when we open, it’ll be for the season. We’ve been making snow for 6 days and with 9” inches of help from Mother Nature, the plan is to start with weekends and quickly move to 7 days a week. Stay tuned for our opening day hours, and pricing, but we expect to start skiing, riding and tubing this Friday, November 30th."

  13. I thought Blue was spectacular today. Until it wasn’t. Parking lot was on point. Rest of the season is free.

  14. My only comment on this thread is that I didn’t find a bad spot of snow on the terrain that was advertised to be open today.

  16. lmao camelback didnt open today. its amazing how such a giant resort can suck so bad at something places like shawnee and montage were able to pull off. i guess thats what happens when skiing is at best the 3rd source of income. makes me appreciate blue being a ski resort first

  19. I'd definitely use the RTMs. Always a good option to bring the rock skis out when the base is still thin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  30. Got the distinct impression that writing down names wasn’t so they could compile a list to do anything with, but to compare against if anyone dared come back again without going inside to wait in line to correct their error.

  34. Second rope drop around 1020am was badass...was pretty much me edge Atomic Jeff and a couple of groms snow was lipstick the next run it was pig..some cookie action but apparently it got better. More beers in the lot and a pretty solid amount of people spilling in. Not only was today at Blue bonus skiing but they overdelivered..thanks to the snowmakers for pulling this off. A snowmaking said they were using 8,000 gallons per minute of water at peak.

  38. Ooooh- AMAZEBALLS! Blued again. Main St chair was open ~ until it broke. Almost 2 whole hours of "quality" shred before delapidation rears her ugly head again. Can you wait for the 6 to go down CONSTANTLY? How many hours cumulatively did you sit motionless in the breeze last year? "Yummy" stale cookies = legit reparations you can count on (while you stand with 150 others watching empty chairs cruising up the hill.) How many times have you heard "We can cover the hill with 3 days of Snowmaking?" 20+ nights of snowmaking temps + 8" of NATURAL and this is Opening Day? Highest vertical in PA! & We are Open! (Closed monday-friday until further notice) I await with reticence the common closures on forecast alone, let alone consistant closure for inclement weather. LOVE the terrain at little gap ski area & laugh at the little fauxresort that can't be bothered to run a skI hill. Perhaps we need a spot to let them know of the REALITY of our daily experiences. Earth to blue- we ride mountains all over the world & not one other ski area acts with such contempt of their organic sales force. At least they keep laughing. ~chargingARC
