What, are you taking cell phone lessons from Salty? Turn your jitterbug up. It shows a healthy batch of snow for next Sunday. But, right now its just something to watch and dream about. Its over a week away, and like Toast said, shift north, and break out the canoe. I saw something this morning about the 5th-6th too, but we shall see.4 points

I will as much as I can. Amazon prime and backcountry makes things too easy. If I can get it for the same price, I’ll go to a store, but that doesn’t happen often. Brick and mortar stores are dying off for a reason. The only store I truly buy at in person most of the time is my local running store Aardvark, but that is because I get a discount there and they have given me a lot of the last few years I’ve been running. It’s like the old Nestor’s used to be - I’d just go there to hang out and chat with the employees.2 points

It's just dumb an online store can get them to me faster than local store that actually has them in the store.2 points

The canoe strapped to the guys roof is never a good sign. His "car art" rocks though.2 points

Could be, I made it onto the snow by 830 last Sat which was pretty good for me especially with having kids to get out there.2 points

Hey All, I’m back from a fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. The fact that it’s still November and there’s skiing between the raindrops makes today a good day to start..I arrived at the upper lot at 1:20PM and it was 35 degrees with intermittent light rain. Atomic Jeff was in the house and we also ran into Tele Ben who used to patrol at Camelback. Conditions were early spring choppy some mini mogul push piles not much hardpack. I skied everything including both main streets, barneys Bumps, the chute, come around, midway, easy out and vista. I actually didn’t ski connector but it looked good. Barely any people put some weirdos typical weekday older folks crowd and a few jibhonks..has a single high test beer in the lot thanks to Atomic Jeff it was largely rain free while I was skiing. Base is solid 12-36” they’ll make it to the next decent snowmaking opportunity around Wednesday or so. Peaced our around 330 and beat most of the rush hour traffic..JADIP1 point

Good on you for trying to shop local. I worked retail in a hockey shop for 5 years so I always try to shop local too. I might get some heat for this and I do regularly shop at Buckmans for small items but I often find it hard to shop there for "big" purchases because of how high their mark ups often are. They had a $120 pair of pants on Burtons website, marked for $160. That's a 25% markup....come on man. I ended up buying the same pair of pants from a local shop at the base of Hunter for $140. That's at least reasonable IMO.1 point

Has nothing to do with who opens first. Blue is just a better hill. There isn't a trail at CB that compares to a Razors or an NMDW. Shit if I had another kid I'd probably name him or her NMDW. That's how much I like that run.1 point

And you can also ski Burke which is a fukin cool 2k vert mountain that is never crowded. Plus you can show Mikaela Shiffrin your rtms’s.1 point

I have a very bad feeling that I'm not going to be skiing this weekend since tomorrow am is a no go for me. Which means no skiing for two weeks since mid-week probably won't be an option, which means I'll be cranky as shit come Tues. Can't wait.0 points

We were up over the weekend. They made snow on top of the 10" of natural, 24/7 from the day before Thanksgiving until sometime early Saturday morning. When we left Monday around noon, we stopped at the mtn to pick up a season pass. Very foggy, but from what we could see they had huge whales on the bunny slope, East and West Slopes. They were blowing on Susquehanna, Tioga, and Tunk too when we arrived Friday but we couldn't see them Monday because of the fog. Rumor mill said Elk is going to open Wednesday Dec 5th for the season... we'll see. The web cam on the website isn't working for me but I saw a face book post showing them blowing at the top of the East slope. They are really hurting for employees in every department... Damn Trump and his booming economy....0 points
