What is everybody's favorite type of deciduous tree? I really like the Tulip Poplar trees because of the leaf shape and how most of the time they will look tulip shaped, but also sometime you may have one of the sides missing that looks like a mitten. My next favorite would probably be Ginkgo trees because there leaves are so unique with their fan shape and tiny striations. Plus, they typically turn a beautiful yellow color in the fall.4 points

Although I've never been I think the answer you're looking for is likely Blue Knob.3 points

All that matters is they blew a fuck ton of snow in the valley last night and should have some more good nights ahead of them. The rain if it shows up is later in the week Johnny Law's problem. This many days out too all that means is it's going to rain at some point probably.3 points

I like how you call it NEPA even though you're from Jersey. In the Hizzle (Hazleton) we pronounce it "Nee-Pah".2 points

Blue = Belleayre 1. Both begin with the letter 'B' 2. Both have a bar with an outdoor deck 3. The gondubie and 6-pack lifts both take 7 minutes bottom to top2 points

Dont put too much faith in a forecast 5 days out. I dont disagree there may be some less than stellar weather late this week, but lots can change between now and then.2 points

It’s ready now but they’re gonna keep adding to the base all week so it will be super solid when they open the six pack this weekend. Ski2Live you can still park at the top to save money on gas2 points

9° at the base and 2° at the summit...so said the board at both lift stations. Luckily no wind and it flurried the whole time I was there along with still blowing snow on a few trails. Fantastic snow all around with a few more trails opened this week. One of the trails that they opened was Belt Parkway, a long blue from top to bottom and this is where the new Hunter North expansion connects to the mountain. Word has it they plan on opening the expansion on the 22nd. Pics of the new lift below. It warmed up to a blazing 14° by the time I left around 2 o clock. 17 runs of the Kaatskill Flyaaaaa with a coffee break after 10 runs. Boy did the singles line come in handy, lines were getting pretty long for groups but singles were rolling thru. I managed to find the 420 hut but these kids were lames, they basically came to the mountain to party, not ride. They finally put in a couple new park features but still less than impressive. A great day with great snow but cot d*mn was it cold. Enjoy my lame *ss pics yo.1 point

My bad, you did mention you're from Jenkintown when we were on the Sullivan lift and later got our free hot cocoas and sugar cookies for sustenance.1 point

You either have to ride a lift before skiing or ride a lift after skiing...6 and a half dozen..I didn’t think people from outside Princeton NJ would take the turnpike to blue I figured maybe like 206 to 202 to 287 to 78 to 33 to 248. Maybe with a stop for a buttered roll to split three ways.1 point

I thought I had a good source for today 's valley opening - a BMR coach on a lift ride. Apparently not...1 point

Sounds like night skiing on Thursday might be a good idea if the weather might turn.1 point

Beer at the flyers games now are $12.75 for a domestic. If you get crab fries w/cheese and a bud light it’s $24.75. Lorenzo’s pizza slice and a beer is $18, that’s the best deal of them all down there1 point

Yup. That's part of the reason I went Sunday instead of Saturday. Oh and it was so nice to be back on Lazy yesterday. Great conditions. Really fun to just let the skis rip it up.1 point

Also, Doug was so stoned today that he forgot that he carried his poles down to his car and then blamed us when he thought he lost them.1 point
