  1. I’m gonna try and post updates throughout the day but I do t like taking my phone out in the lift so we shall see. Out the door at 5:05am walking my dog. Bonus that I got to see 2 meteors from the shower. Very bright with long tails. Rolled into Mary Jane about 8:20. Scored the last parking spot in the “circle” near the lift. Waiting for the lifts to open. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. Booked a quick trip with Mute to ski the Hole of Jackson! Pumped! We get in late morning, so I might try and get some turns in the afternoon since it is $free.99 with my Ikon pass. a few days of skiing, a few nights of drinking, and then back home. First weekend in March if anybody else is interested in coming out. Got a good deal at the 49er, so we'll be staying there. Definitely more than it has cost in the past, but for ~$110 a night split two ways, ya can't really complain about a good free breakfast, nice rooms, mountain shuttle at the front door, and pool/hot tub. Pretty stoked! Pray for snow - I want Mute to drown in perderrrrrrrrrrr.

  3. Son had his last final this morning and Groomer Dan from Blue was back in town for a few days and could only ski today, so I decided to take the day off and ski the morning, then head up to Wilkes-Barre to pick the kid up and kill two birds with one day off. Rolled into the valley at 8:00am to find only about the lower 1/3 of the mountain visible through the fog. They were working on grooming school hill out. Why they wouldn't leave the whales for the incoming rain is a wonder. The quad was running and some maintenance guys were doing something with the 6-pack. Other than that, the place was pretty vacant, except for a couple of cars here and there. Walked through the lodge to find they still had some setup to do, as there was still a bunch of crap piled on the bar. 4 of us lined up at the quad at open. Paradise looked to be open, so I made my way to it through the dense fog.. Up at the top, visibility was about 10', if that. The snow was buttery soft and held a perfect edge, except there were surprise rollers, ditches and divots that would come out of nowhere. Caught up with the other bumpers and we skied the rest of the mountain, even Burma. Snow was superb everywhere. The warmth and the mist did away with all the marbles. Skiing the bumps was challenging, since you could only ski them by feel, but they had just been reseeded and were soft, so they broke in easily. Also skied the spines which also had some excellent snow. Overall the snow was excellent, probably the best it's been on all year so far. Would have been an excellent day, if the visibility wasn't so horrible.

  4. My daughter got me this great ornament for my b-day. She knows how much her old man likes seeing bighorn sheep up on Kachina peak.

  13. You know what though, It's really not as bad as it seems if you're taking a family. You get lift tickets and water park access with the room right? I mean a family of 4 would spend $250 just for the lift tickets. Water park would be less but still at least 150 I would guess.

  20. Likely a 1:45 departure. Might be worth the rush, depending on weather, since it is basically a free morning. Still working on planning everything out, but will be booked by tonight most likely.

  21. At least. I'd give the START bus 30 minutes or so. Repacking your gear at your hotel, plus cab ride to the airport? If you have a 1pm flight...realistically you might get an hour of skiing in and that's not leaving much fudge factor for the cab not being there right on time, START bus not on schedule, etc.

  22. Take whatever taxi is sitting at the curb. I believe $35 from airport to town for 1-2 people more for 3+ people.

  23. Nice I definitely have to hit up winter park for a day next trip to Colorado. Last trip I wanted to but four pow days in a row kept me local because of the driving.

  33. For the mid-week sessions it'll be tough for me to be able to ski with you guys honestly. If I planned to get there when you guys are able to around 6:30 it would very easily take me an extra hour sitting in traffic. Since I get there early and I'm fat as fuck my legs are shot by the time you guys get there. If I hang out until close and get home after midnight the 5:40 am alarm going to be mad technical Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  34. Finally a chance to write a couple sentences about last night. Great time at Blue last night! After driving the whole way in a light rain and hitting a bunch of traffic I wasn't too excited to snowboard TBH. I saw Phillycore and briefly spoke to him then got suited and booted real quick and took 2 quick runs before heading back to the lot to meet up with my cousin. By this time Jeff,Ridge and Doug were in the lot finishing getting ready. The run of the night for my cousin and I was Lazy to Falls with great snow on both trails with little side hits all down lazy mile. A little slow, but I think that has to do more with my board than the snow. Like Tuesday, no lift lines, good snow and good people, cheers.

  35. Not sure when I'll be there yet. Really depends on the weather. May try to get my daughter out at some point if it's not a wash.

  37. I’m back from a fun session...I arrived at the lower lot around 640pm and in the House were PARidge, Antman, Antman cousin, West Chester Peeps, West Chester Guys Siberian husky, Atomic Jeff and Shadows. The temperature was around 30 degrees and there was a bit of a fog and mist near the peak. The two runs I skied were Main Street and Lazy to the falls both from the comet quad which was the lift du jour. Lazy mile was pretty smooth a bit of light sugar..the experts only pole is still up on the way to Falls which shadows got steeZy air off of. Main Street was a little more sugar, top was nice..shuttle to homestretch slow..I miss lower park and Central Park but they will be open after the next cold spell. Paradise looks ready for the weekend I don’t think tomorrow. Skied until 840pm then hangout in the lot till almost 930 drank a dank beer Jeff brought I forgot the name of it but it was high test. I’m hoping for a few breaks in the weather this weekend perhaps Saturday late morning we shall see..and Sunday sometime. JADIP
