  1. I woke up at 3am and it was POURING. I almost turned off my alarm then. Jonathan Lawson texted me ~6:15am saying the radar looked OK and he was on the road. I couldn't let him ski alone, so I got my ass up. In the house was myself, law, TP4, VTMark and Edge. Edge pulled in and realize he left his boot bag at home, so he turned around and met his girlfriend half way. The first 3 runs down Main Street were boner doner carpet. I was making noise on MS as I carved down a perfectly soft and smooth surface. Fog levels were right around Xing, so MS was almost all in the clear. Race team took over MS after 3 runs, then we just alternated between Paradise and Lazy until we decided we had our fill (not like Mickelson) around 9:30am. As we were walking out to the cars, Edge returned. Couple beers and another fun session. Those first three runs were better than yesterday.

  2. I was awake, pouring rain at the house. Checked the webcam and saw the summit socked in. Had my fill of fog skiing for the week and forecast was for more rain. Decided to get some shit done around the house instead. Have to do some night sessions this week to make it up. Weather is really depressing.

  3. Just drove over the mountain and the roads were white. Web cam looks good. Better than all rain, I guess!

  6. Another fine day yesterday. Glad I hit the snow just as fog was lifting and had only one low visibility run. 4 consecutive weekends with no real lines and a little extra terrain open each weekend is a great way to start the skison.

  7. I was hesitant to ride Hunter today but when I walked out my door into a steady rain, I had a feeling I made the right decision. I left my complex at 5 am and drove straight to Hunter and pulled into the lot at 7:52, 38° and a fair bit of fog. Ran inside real quick, back to my car and at the lift corral by 815, first chair. PASR up in this b****. While inline waiting a lady said "Brian Westbrook, my favortie player!" Turns out she and her family are from Nazareth and spend their weekends at Hunter during the winter. Very nice family, made the 15 minutes go by quick and invited me to join them at happy hour lol. Hero snow all day and you could quickly tell that they lost a lot of snow, however they did open up some of Hunter West which included a highspeed quad, a double diamond and a blue. The blue "Overlook" was really fun and I went back a few times. Holy sh*t the double diamond "Claires Way" was just a bump run....but the bumps we literally the size of a VW bug. They also finally did a full park build, props to Empire. 12 runs in I took a lunch/coffee break and back out on the snow for 8 more runs. I downloaded a new stat tracker app that im pretty happy with. I started it 1 run into the day and did a total of 20 runs like youll see below. No lifts lines to speak off outside of maybe 2 runs, again the singles line is clutch. At one point I see 4 Mountain OPs/Snow makers, all twentie somethings redneck/back mtn (with all due respek) looking mofos seemingly having a blast..naturally I think "I gotta ride up with these kids". Yo, theses cats were a riot! For their sake ill save the details but by far the best lift ride ive had in awhile. F*cking hilarious. Today was a freakin blast. Usually im content with leaving when I do. But today, even after 20 runs I wished I wouldve stayed for a couple more.

  10. Glad the rain held off. Felt really nice to sleep in an extra 2 hours today. I’ll be up tomorrow morning.

  11. Salty, forget about the super budget airlines. When it’s all said and done, they are probably more expensive.

  13. So I drove down to the lower lot with my daughter thinking for sure I would finally meet you guys. But: 1) Lower lodge wasn't selling tickets we had to go back tot he summit. 2) I guess you guys were gone - it was around 11:15-11:30. Didn't see anyone tailgating. We took our time because the forecast indicated rain didn't stop until 11-12. Snow was great - spring corn, not to slushy. longest line was maybe 5 chairs. Skied 11:45 to 3 and had enough. Fun time. Really think Blue is doing a nice job - summit lodge is damn nice (except the food - the food f-ing sucks) and they were selling noon to 4 tickets fo $40, which was nice thing for them to do - I would have totally paid regular price. And the snow making production is pretty crazy.... Easy to like a mountain when you have no crowds and soft snow, but that aside, I feel like they are doing things right. Anywho - great day. Lazy>Falls was the ROTD, fun to have Burma open, and the bumps were fun, though they got slick toward the end of our session.

  14. I’m gonna try and post updates throughout the day but I do t like taking my phone out in the lift so we shall see. Out the door at 5:05am walking my dog. Bonus that I got to see 2 meteors from the shower. Very bright with long tails. Rolled into Mary Jane about 8:20. Scored the last parking spot in the “circle” near the lift. Waiting for the lifts to open. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. They finally opened the Panoramic lift and I was in line. Shortly after it stopped and they closed it again. Crap!!!! Sunny side lift is getting super busy and keeps stopping so getting off that terrain again. May not be able to get to Parsen Bowl today which is a bummer. Ended up on the bumped side of Mary Jane trail and decided to give it a try. Wasn’t pretty but I made it down jello legs at the bottom as that trail is 1700’ very. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
