Don't recall the brand. Awesome powdery day, dumping the whole time. Took some shots in Revolution bowl. Only took my camera out once so all shots are from same spot just pointing different directions. Skied greens in the AM with the girls then blues and blacks and double blacks in the afternoon on my own.5 points

Woke up at 6 to check the weather and saw it was snowing at blue so I ignored the rain at my place and rolled out around 7. Got to the lot at 820 and in the corral at 837 and caught up with a few PASRs. The first hour was fantastic with 1-2" of fresh snow, no lines and a bunch of PASRs. Unfortunately, it started raining/sleeting around 945ish so I called it early. I was just stoked to get a few runs in. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.4 points

Good ski day. Main street held up pretty well, crowds we low. No annoying ass raceteam assholes. Off to rub my meat.4 points

First day out. About 30 degrees and a couple inches of snow overnight. Pretty quiet at opening, got some nice runs on Challenge, TBolt and Rivershot. No cover on Floyd's yet. Starting to clear up a little.3 points

Even the groomers had about 3" coating of untracked powdery snow on top of a firm but not icy surface, and it was coming down enough and uncrowded enough that you could get that surface through most of the day, particularly along the sides. It was about as ideal conditions as you could get. Girls made lots of turns in the trees alongside the trails too. Girls will go higher up and onto blues tomorrow, but the blacks here are too much for them. In PA they are good on blacks but so far largely avoid double blacks.2 points

There's a reason why Doug uses the term "Western groomers" in his TRs.1 point

Mountain Plaza hotel location is ideal and outdoor hot tub is real nice but room itself has seen better days. Small bath with lame tub and hole in door where hook once was. Off to check out Xmas festivities with Santa leading a torchlight parade down mountain and kids parading with glowsticks (though my girls deemed themselves too mature to participate in that). Been flying into DIA enough that I have a fav restaurant there I hit every time - Mesa Grill1 point

For those of you who enjoy a little local history like I do, there are some pretty cool archived aerial photos on this site from the 1930s to 1970s in Pennsylvania. For example, here is are pictures from where Blue is in 1938, 1959, 1971. You can get lost in history looking at these pictures, especially with a few beers. Enjoy. http://www.pennpilot.psu.edu/1 point

Just arrived. Picked up my skis after a hot wax job yesterday now skiing probably until close. It's not terrible. Sugar piles on the sides carvable hard pack in the middle. I've skied worse. Having fun and yes the sexual innuendos in this post are intentional because I'm a child1 point

Dude, you bike thousands of miles a year and your legs can’t handle an extra 7 minutes of standing?1 point

Completely out of control. At this one point yesterday there was atleast 3 dozen(!) of them all at the top of the 6 in the way. However, It was hilarious to watch my cousin get stuck in the middle of all of them, trie to waddle out of the pack and ultimately fall face first because of the little damn race kids. I was laughing in this case, but all too often they get in way and cause hassle. Are they always there both Saturdays and Sunday??1 point

My cousin and I met up at 8am with no set plans on where to ride. I was content with riding Blue, he threw out the idea of riding JFBB and we compromise on JF as I can’t really ride park at the moment. Im really glad he pushed the idea of JF because we had a very great time overall. Beautiful sunny day with no wind mixed with nice made mad soft snow. It was a nice change from the norm to start at the top of a mountain and it’s pretty cool how large the area at the top of mountain is. Since only about half of the trails were open we didn’t get the full JF experience but some fun trail regardless. We particularly enjoyed “Lightning” to “Rivershot” and also “The Challenge” which we went back to many times each. We didn’t enjoy the terribly slow lifts. Brutal. Overall a great day and we both looking forward to going back when there’s more snow.1 point

How much “leg strength” could you possibly use standing by the rope at 753am? Also we park at the bottom lot now that the 6-pack is open. You should too.1 point

You’re the only person anybody on here knows that likes U2. Anyway I think it’s badass that you have posters of Tom Brady and The Edge in your man cave.1 point

No one had any idea if last night was closing at 9 or 10. Website and Facebook said 9, everything at the mountain said 100 points
