Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot around 7:20AM and it was 28 degrees under partly sunny sky’s. No guns on this morning but I had heavy frost on my car. In the house were Toast, Root Atomic Jeff, JFDan, Ryan, TP4, Matt Edge, Nastar Glenn, Indiggio, GahSkier George and many others. I was back on the kastle 115s again and much better snow than yesterday. Main Street was not a western groomer but nice cord nonetheless. Lazy mile was nice and smooth except for the corner which was cookies. The falls was 3 seconds of excitement and paradise was herky jerky. It turns out that there were 22 runs open plus a bunch of tubing lanes..no real liftlines while I skied but the runs got crowded towards 930..had a few parking lot beers and enjoyed Matt edge new speaker blasting slightly stoopid and house of pains jump around twice. As Ice cube said today was a good day. If Barb is reading this I listened to 8 on 80s station.5 points

Hello all, just got back from another great day at Hunter Mountain. Rolled outta my place a bit after 5am, made really good time and was in the lift corral by 825. I could tell that it was going to be busy by the amount of people already in the lot and lift corral. I originally planned on going tomorrow (Friday), but the weather is looking terrible so I decided today was the day. 32 and sunny all day, perfect! snow conditions were varied with a lot of really really nice man made snow but unfortunately many spots on the mountain were scrapped off and icy. First run was down "Jimmie Heuga Express" so I could duct into the woods for a quick safety break, then down "drop off" which was my first time since its been previously closed. Second run was "Belt Parkway" to the brand new, recently opened "Hunter North", the largest east coast terrain expansion in 15+ years! First run was down a blue "Overlook", LMAO this was not a typical blue. It cleared up the term "a hunter blue". I doubt the picture will do it justice. I took 5-7 runs over at Hunter North thru out the day, definitely very fun trails. Oh by the way the new 6 chairlift "Northern Express brings you 1000' of vertical in 3 minutes and 40 seconds! Thru out the rest of the day I pretty much hit the whole mountain, The main face, Hunter West and Hunter North. Obviously not all trails were opened but I covered the mountain. Oh! They fully opened the summit lodge! Not just bathrooms and first aid anymore, but a full Cafe/Restaurant serving anything from coffee to ribs! I saw my Nazareth friends again, this time at the lodge and sorta ate lunch with them. Ill get a picture next time but this place was pretty cool. Thanks for reading and some pics below. Coffee/safety break... Top of Hunter North and the new lift from the existing trail "Belt Parkway" Bottom of the new lift at Hunter North... Idk if the picture will do it justice, but this is not a blue! lol And finally my total "stats" for the day.4 points

Another nice morning, in by 8, out by 10. Pretty quiet first thing, big line at the ticket booth on the way out. Nice and firm even as I left. Bottom of Rivershot was a lot smoother than Monday. Still no Floyds or glades. Race team on half of Challenge and red coats on Demattes. No guns going. 21 minutes riding, an hour and a half on lifts - what can I say, it's Jack Frost.3 points

I heard Daft Punk was playing in the lower lodge. You must have caught one of the guys before the show.3 points

I may be cutting this one short. the weather is great and the snow is decent but it's gaper city tonight. To be expected I guess but extra dangerous with limited terrain. Not even touching paradise for a number of reasons1 point

Hey All, I’m back from a fun post Christmas session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot around 720AM and was 30 degrees out with snowguns blazing on razors, lower park, Central Park, razors and nightmare to Dream Weaver. Also in the house were Root, Slim, Nastar Glenn and Indiggio. I first tried out my Kastle 115s with first civilian six pack on Main Street and the snow was sort of rough..not smooth some cookies and just frozen snot...Lazy mile to falls was much better although falls was lipstick on a pig with cookies emerging later. I traded the kastles for roots monsters and skied a run on them then went to lot and grabbed my Atomic 95s to try out. While they are light they can handle speed I can do little doodle turns if I want..although the corners on Lazy and paradise were solid ice so didn’t try to push em too much. Was also skiing on new boots boots for first time and didn’t wear them around or anything so was nice taking em off at 10am in the lot and having a few beers and enjoying a john Denver like zen moment. Rocky Mountain high...I thought the Rockies were rockier than this.... ski everyone tomorrow morning.1 point

Another awesome day did the back bowls myself for 90 min in the AM. Then grabbed the girls and they skied like champs all day including 5 glade runs and about 1000' vertical of solid moguls. The only thing that will challenge them at Blue at this point are PA ski conditions. Wonderful vaca. Eating pizza before a third hot tip session and mountain shuttle back to DIA, then hope I can catch some Zs on Ze plane.1 point

Cool Pic. You can see three rail lines in the photo. The Lehigh & New England and the Lehigh Valley and the CNJ on either side of the river. Shows what a part that the railroads played in LV history. Today there is only a single track running through the gap.1 point

First day out. About 30 degrees and a couple inches of snow overnight. Pretty quiet at opening, got some nice runs on Challenge, TBolt and Rivershot. No cover on Floyd's yet. Starting to clear up a little.1 point

platty is nothing like elk - i cant think of a single similarity in terrain, policy, grooming, vibe, etc, etc, etc they both have fixed grip lifts though1 point

Back when I was a gaper, I thought ski patrol was going to kill me on Falls. I was making my way down Falls slowly and suddenly 5 or 6 patrollers sped past me. If I was in the wrong place it would have been bad. Fortunately I'm a good skier now and can get down Falls quickly. But I remember to slow down at the top and check for gapers first.0 points
