It’s the last day of 2018. What is your favorite picture of the year and why? This was taken in Hawaii when we went to get my son settled in his apartment. At the time my youngest had trouble being in crowded places without having a panic attack. We went to the North Shore and found a completely empty beach and spent the day there. It was so nice to see him able to relax and enjoy his surroundings. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk8 points

I have plenty of dates open in March if you wanted to give Crested Butte a try. PS it would keep your costs way down.5 points

Should be nice spring conditions...Mimosas will be served to start the year off right.4 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I pulled into the lower lot at 7:20AM and it was 28 degrees and 33 at the summit entrance..mad inversion Yo!! In the house were Atomic Jeff, Toast, Matt Edge, Root, JFDan, Indiggio and Slim. Managed first civilian chairlift and a good day for a fanny flap as the chairs were caked with manmade snow. They blew some snow on lower Main Street and were blowing on razors, lower paradise, Central Park and homestretch. Due to the inversion way more snow was accumulating lower down with only white grass on upper razors. Main Street was slightly better than yesterday to salt..paradise was sandy but the new manmade lower down made things smooth and lazy mile wasn’t so crazy as crowds were light. We took the quad a few yikes to break things up and even the Main Street chair once to ski easy out to a fresh cord vista to Burma to shuttle to homestretch. No hanging out in parking lot today..I had enough beer yesterday and have a few end of year things to wrap up at work...ski everybody next year!!!!4 points

If we didn't mix it up with various lifts, today would have gotten old pretty damn fast. Nice to get a change of scenery around the same old place.4 points

Like Toast said, figure out where u wanna go, and people will be able to help you alot more. Figure out if your airline of choice flys to Jackson. some dont. you really cant make a mistake with CO, Utah or Jackson. But i will give you this quick rundown. Utah - 13 resorts within like 45 mins of the airport. You dont have to get a car, and you could stay at a resort but the cost of staying at a resort will likely be more than if you were to rent a car, and stay in a more centrally located hotel in town. Stay in a hotel, with your rental hoptie, and go to whatever resort has the best conditions. Rent a 4wd car/truck/tank. Get your lift tix that morning at the ski shop. Colorado - lift tix are prob still more expensive than Utah, and you will do some driving there. However, we know some super cool person that is always willing to help out a PASR, and Crested Butte looks cool as crap. Very quick flight to Denver, if you dont fly frontier. Jackson Hole - I have no experience with this, but i am told it is an easy place to ski without renting a car. The Kardashians lent us their Suburban last year.3 points

Antman if you have free airfare the trip won’t be that much more than a trip to Vermont. Really anywhere...Utah, Colorado, Tahoe or Jackson hole will be good.3 points

Early March is still full on winter in the Rockies but the sun angle is a bit higher. Bring sunscreen and extra Pomade due to the dry air.2 points

Utah is a great place to start your trips West. We've been to Utah 5 or 6 times. We usually do a VRBO and stay in the area between the Little and Big Canyons Cottonwood Canyons. We also rent a car or two and drive to one of the many mountains in the region, usually a different one every day. That being said, since there are going to only be the two of you, a hotel in Park City would work better for you. No need to rent a car if you are only going to ride Park City, there is excellent free bus transportation in PC, and you should easily be able to catch a bus from the airport to PC. You can also ride Wolf Mountain(?), Used to be PC West. I think Deer Valley still has a boarder ban... I could be very wrong however.... Again the PC public busses will be able to get you there no problem. My first trip West was to PC..... GO FOR IT!!!2 points

Utah is easy to get to and lots of variety. Can’t go wrong with any choice you make. Get out west if you can, but if not there is always next season.2 points

Local history continues... Also go to check out the old rail line that used to run through there and into Palmerton during my run this morning. If I remember correctly, it was the Chestnut Ridge Railway which was originally built for a potential brick factory from the white clay in the area. That never happened, but the line was still used for local industrial transportation but more importantly to transfer workers from Kunkletown to Palmerton to work at NJ Zinc. The more you know...2 points

1968. Lots has changed in Bethlum since then. You can see the steeple of Central Moravian Church in the far left, the old passenger and freight station that is now The Wooden Match, and City Hall in the back. The old bridge crossing the river was replaced with the Fahy Bridge over the following years, and the trestle crossing the canal fed the Fritch Fuels which is still there.2 points

Ahhh well we’ve had five weeks of skiing so far this season. I truly believe we’ll have a season with no local skiing in our lifetime.1 point

Whats to worry about we have top to bottom skiing and riding. There’s a good chance resorts will not get to 100% this season sure. Depends what happens in a few weeks.1 point

The morning has started quite unexpectedly with some snow falling and drifting on I-80. Conditions were pretty awesome all day long, uniform and soft in the morning slowly progressing to a mix of small bumps and areas scraped to firm base. Thankfully no ice, so still plenty of traction for whatever kind of skiing you like. Race team has started early, and following a caravan of minivans at 30mph was probably the most annoying part of the day. Luckily, on the slopes the race teams took very-very small profile and were hugging just the left edge of Challenge most of the time. At noon the lodge has predictably overflowed, but not so bad as I remember it on Presidents day weekend last year. We should've skied beyond 2pm, but the lack of sun and high humidity eventually got to us, so we left before closing. Bottom line, grabbing those Cyber Monday tickets at night and diverting to JF on busy days still makes a lot of sense even if you have a season pass elsewhere.1 point

Yea this is all fresh and VERY tentative. This past weekend the cousin I ride with says "my mom (my aunt lol) says we should use some of her free flights and go out west", as she is a flight attendant. So we've been playing with this idea since Saturday. Neither of us have been out west and would be stoked to ride anywhere. I think the first thing were going to do is pick a date and currently looking at the first half of March. Any concerns/comments about early March? @toast21602 ive always been really intrigued by Park City, have you been? Admittedly, this is only from snowboard magazines and videos. Nothing more or less.1 point
