Today was day 20 for me and it was A freaking mazing! Webcam showed 3” from 4pm yesterday of new snow. But it snowed pretty much all day here yesterday so there was lots of goods to be had! When I asked this morning what shuttle the girls wanted to take, 2 of them said they are not first chair people. I have never skied with them before surprisingly but spend a lot of time with them doing other activities. When they gave me that answer I almost banned hem from the house! Luckily, the last girl is a first chair person so we left early. Zero and I mean zero lift lines. Day after a holiday was a score! Took the Silver Queen up and went down to Paradise Bowl, which is my favorite. Always holds a lot of snow. Did 3 runs off of that and headed to the east river lift. Did another 3 there and tried to get over to the Umbrella Bar but took a wrong turn and ended up back at he base. Went up again and found it. Had some lunch and did another handful of runs around there. That terrain is really mellow and groomed (first groomed stuff we hit all day). Was nice to give the legs a break. Last pic was back in town. Probably my best day of the season so far. Conditions could not have been better. Was about 12 degrees all day but felt warmer since the sun came out. Gorgeous morning here at Blue, but super cold 6° with light winds. The sun is popping up, which helps, but it is still cold. They did blow some snow on Sidewinder but will need much more work, especially after two days of rain. I’m in the lodge now warming up before heading back out. Everything is pretty decent today but there are two standouts. Lazy and Razors. Lazy is the worst conditions I have ever seen it. It’s like they tilled it but forgot to put the mats down to actually smooth it out. Huge cookies all over is. Some like golf balls and some the size of my helmet. A fucking disaster. Razors is a goddamn slice of heaven. They blew an inch or so if pixie dust after grooming and it skied like a dream. It’s that perfect 5° blown snow that is grippy but soft at the same time. When I go back out I’ll spend the rest of my morning there. Took a few pictures but it’s cold and I didn’t want to keep doing that. Really wanted to get one on Lazy but I feared for my life and there is no way I’m going back there. Ski ya later.9 points

lets protest. I say we all stop skiing at 10 am and drink in the parking lot.8 points

Thanks guys. That helps. I'll probably either do Pivot 12's, 14's or Tyrolia Attack 13's depending on the selection they have. My last 2 pairs of bindings were Pivot 14's but I'm thinking I could get away with 12's and save the $ since my DIN is like 10 or less. Forget going to Buckmans and waiting. They do a fine job and everything, but I want to have my new setup in time to try it out before Jackson Hole.5 points

Just took my dog on a walk. Seems like everybody has their roof shoveled but all the porches have snow. Most more than mine. I saw a red fox too walking down Main Street. Didn’t have my phone. Be prepared for lots of CB pictures. It’s like a postcard here.5 points

Evening edition..mind still blown... Hey All, I’m back from a fun night session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at around 615pm and in the house were Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law and NMSki. Temperatures were in the low 20s and crowds and wind were light to moderate. Some people mainly aggro beginners who were determined to show everybody that they were the best skiers on the mountain. Challenge had decent snow..was smooth..Main Street was similar and very forgiving, Paradise was tits mcgee, nightmare to dreamweaver was rough with a crevasse in the one corner and switchback was bulletproof I did my best power skids on there Robert2 would have loved it..ice is nice speed is good..dress like an astronaut. In total skied Main Street 4 times, Paradise 3 tines, challenge 3 tines, NMDW once and Swizzle Bizzle once. Then spend an hour+ in the P-lot enjoying some beer..was one of the better night sessions of the season and Blue is in full mid winter mode. The cannons are once again fired up on Sidewinder after some frozen pipe issues..I should be back Thursday night..anybody else??!2 points

I love it here. Probably snowshoeing tomorrow so I can include the dog in the day’s activities. Maybe ski the morning Thursday before we head down to Ouray for part 2 of our adventure week.2 points

I think i remember seeing Salomon, and maybe Marker. They are a Rossi ski dealer, so i dont see why they wouldnt have some type of look/Rossi binding. As far as i know, they still do the equipment trade in (skis with current bindings) for $50. So if you have some pair lying around you wont ever ski again, send them along. I sort of thought their prices on Bindings were a little high. But....remember, you will get 10% off, and the bindings should mount for free, so it might end up being a wash. It seems as though Blue has had quick turn around time on PASR peoples stuff lately, so thats always a bonus vs. Buckmans smiling at you and saying, "pick these up in 2 weeks"?2 points

Found out the other day my Marshall's gift card can be used at Marshall's tjmaxx and sierratradingpost. Hmmm1 point

12's are fine if you run at 10. Most shops won't set to 10 as I'm pretty sure it's off the chart for your weight. Blue does a good job on mounts, they normally are next day maybe two. You just gotta be real specific with people around here if there are multiple mount lines or something.1 point

Wow that does look great! What a beautiful place in every season. Much different from when I was there in May!1 point

Nice report and funny that two of your friends are not first run kind of people. Not everybody can be awesome.1 point

It was super windy but maybe a cash flow type move. You blew alot of dollars on the hill this week and saturday was good but empty Sunday, Monday. Cold air will be around later so spread that cost around more days to even out the flow. Plus peeps are happy because like 5 actual trails opened up so nobody is seriously complaining.1 point

Tyrolia as well. If you buy bindings at Blue you get the mount included but bindings at Blue arena solid $100 more than online so it’s six and a half dozen. They have Look bindings as well but the PX’s are like $3001 point

I was giving them a pass yesterday on that with the wind. Kinda surprised this morning to see no snowmaking. well, just a little surprised.1 point

Doubt I will do Blue again next season. May take a year off from passes and do the PS&R cards then get a pass late season for the following year. If I can find a deal on a Peak Pass that will be tempting and would likely make Hunter my go to place with occasional trips to Frost or Snow.1 point

I wear a jacket if it’s below 10 degrees, other than that it’s too hot for me and the sweatshirt and long sleeve shirt suffice.1 point

Yesterday was pretty fun. I got on the mtn a little late around 820 and didnt ride too long before the crowds got a little long. Took a solo run, then 5 with shadows and went back out after the lot for another quick run. Comearound Park is still nice. The Lower Park is really good too, granted I only rode the rail line on riders right. I was able to do the gnarly flat rail to offset down rail combo....what an adrenaline rush! I hope to be able to film a trick or two on that in the next couple weeks. But boy does that make me pucker up1 point
