I’ve had to “work” the last 4 days but yesterday afternoon and today we finally got some time to get out and explore Barcelona and the surrounding area. I’ve had some amazing food and some great wine. Flying home tomorrow and back to the grind on Monday until leaving for JH Tuesday 😂 The last pic is from one of my pre-dawn runs up to the Olympic Village looking over the city. The first 3 pictures pics are from today where was visited a monestary at the top of a mountain. Even got a pic of the insane funicular for @toast216028 points

Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 720Am..I had two degrees but others had a few degrees below zero. The upper entrance was 10 degrees mad inversion Yo. In the house were Salty, JFDan, Schifdawg, ZZSlope, MBike Mike, PARidge Toast, Ryan, Mute, Johnny Law, Gary, Gary, Gary’s son, enjorales, GSSucks, TheRealKevinThomas and many more. I ended up on second civilian six pack at the start razors was closed for a race, nightmare to Dream Weaver closed for an event and Challenge they were still grooming. Main Street first run was pretty nice but some minor cookies lower, Sidewinder was good snow but the rollers are mad technical I saw some wipeouts there. By like 830 already a half full corral for the six pack..WTF..oh the quad was broke down. Skied switchback the most and it was so good as they didn’t blow on it so no cookies. Lazy mile also super nice. The line for the six pack got long so did two laps off the Main Street chair including midmaker and the chute. The Glades are open Ski2Live get funky with it. I was in the lot from about 930-1020 had some beer the. Back out for a few more runs. Challenge had 3D snow and switchback and lazy still great then in the lot again had some cheese balls with cheese balls and heady topper..all in all was a fun day despite some lift issues. The best part of the day was getting to talk to Barb Green in the lot and making her laugh when I mentioned that she could use her employee discount on food lol. Ski everybody tomorrow should be very nice.7 points

I miss the parking lot. Hope you all are well and gettin' after it! VT is great; fell into a great community here in Brownsville. Amazing people, outstanding beer everywhere, unbelievable mountain biking and skiing when I can steal time from work. Headed to Magic for two days tomorrow!6 points

Day 2: snowmass another bluebird day with temps in the mid 20s and no wind. Could see the snowstorm clouds slowly get closer as the day went on. Snowmass was very fun and our group of 4 actually got in line for the 2 creeks lift before 9 am and ended up riding til 3:30. Covered a good amount of terrain in one day. I really enjoyed how long alot of the runs were. Started off getting fresh cord of the elk camp lift, then just moved from lift to lift, doing a few runs at each...alpine springs lift, high alpine lift, sheer bliss lift, and big burn lift. Later went to cirque surface lift. At the top we weren't 100% sure where to go, as a few skiers made their way to cirque head wall, hiked back up and said the conditions were shit. I decided to be cautious and heed their advice, so we followed them on high pass. Unfortunately, nobody was dropping into the bowl and the next thing you know I'm at alpine lift. Kind of diasappoiting to waste that time, but better safe than sorry (I have a bad history with questionable terrain lol). I really enjoyed the runs at snowmass and hopefully tomorrow the potential foot of snow could put new stuff in play. Heading out to cross country ski soon, could get interesting. Looking like snowmass tomorrow and highlands Monday. Tuesday morning session is a possibility before our flight.6 points

Lol I'm still here, been skiing nonstop since going back out from the break. Made 20 runs total. The VIP line is amazing today, I never had to wait more than 1-2 minutes and the line for non passholders is the longest I've personally ever seen it. Conditions are still decent; the top of Sidewinder is amazingly good still. The lower half is icy as hell. It appears someone got critically injured at the bottom of Sidewinder. It looked like he couldn't stop at the bottom of Sidewinder and fell down the embankment that goes to Lower Sidewinder (?). Hope he's ok, didnt look good.4 points

Salty, I started skiing in my mid 40’s. Tore my ACL when some j@ckass skied over the back of my skis. But I love it, will never give it up. If I were you, I’d go on lots of ski trips. You have no obligations. Enjoy it now. Go on every trip you can.3 points

Just got back from Jackson Frost. Elevator is indeed open although its almost impossible to drop into the steepest section it being a sheet of ice. Skiers' right was great though. First time I've ever really hit it, definitely need more practice (and more snow) to get down more confidently without a line pause before that little drop/cliff thing halfway down. Also Challenge glade was pretty much full top to bottom which was great.2 points

Didn't get to bed until 3am, so waking up at 5am to make opening wasn't happening. Just cashing out today, and I'll shoot for tomorrow morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Snow squall added a fresh 2" to the existing PA Perder..... not as cold as expected, but temperatures are dropping now as wind is gusting. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk2 points

Had a great morning there. Skied from 830-1200. Thought I’d see some of you guys in the parking lot when I finally left around 1230. Once the quad opened, we just used that, instead of 6 pack and got right up on the lift. Lazy, Sidewinder and Switchback rocked. Main Street not so much. Knew that would happen when I saw that huge whale at bottom of Main Street on the webcam this morning.1 point

If you make it up to my neck of the woods, give a shout/PM. Sounds like you've been "sucked" in to VT life. And you HAVE a job.1 point

Today may have been the first time i skied Widowmaker. Snow was really nice on that trail. Switch was awesome today. Imagine if every trail had conditions like Switchback? Imagine if the quad was running first thing? Or maybe even by 9am? Never seen a lift station move quite like what ever it was that happened to the main street chair. Of course we all got on it though.1 point

Conditions were great. JLaw thanks for the mosaic beer. You know how to please my palate. Ski y’all tomorrow morning.1 point

Decent conditions but really cold. The lift situation and crowds early sucked. Switchback and lazy were excellent though. Obligatory lot shot...1 point

Sure cause you live there, your metrics are entirely different. Carbondale is 40 mins from skiing and looks like any number of towns in dirty jersey. If your visiting aspen from PA staying in carbondale is not nearly the same experiance. For the vast majority of people living in carbondale is a better deal. I've spent probably 50 days in aspen, never once have I felt like I didn't belong though I also don't give a rat's ass. Everyone I met from town is pretty chill, Vail always seems to me to be so much more flashy with there $$$$$ Regadless, TP4 your living the dream man. Enjoy snowmass tomorow you could spend your whole trip just skiing there.1 point

I have never skied Aspen but would like to. I disagree about the town. Each time I go I get more and more put off. I LOVE the area and the hiking but would not stay in Aspen proper again if I had my choice. Basalt, Carbondale, Redstone are all better choices in my opinion. But everyone should go to Aspen at least once just to check it out. Keep up the reports with pics TP4 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Apparently it's a very classy meal with like 4 or 5 courses. The only way to get there is cross country skis or horse drawn sleigh. Seems way too classy for me lol. I will report about it1 point

Aspen isn’t snobby at all..it’s actually kind of a hippy town. Nice report!!!1 point

Day 1: Ajax parked in town at the garage which is surprisingly cheap at $10 per day. Started today off easy riding groomers with my dad. I had been worried about the terrain at Ajax being too advanced for him, but it wasn't too bad and he said it was one of his best ski days ever. Also had a knee scare on Monday so wanted to be a little cautious today. In the morning we did a lot of blue runs off Ajax lift, ruthies lift, and FIS. After lunch my dad called it a day and me and my brother went to ride tougher terrain. We did a few runs off gents ridge lift (Walsh and hyrups). Walsh was probably my run of the day as the snow was surprisingly good for nothing new in days. After that hit a few diamonds and glades on the two ridges on either side of the resort. Not sure what exact runs but the ones on either side of the gondy, as well as diamonds near FIS lift. Snow was bumped up on these runs, but nothing crazy. Perfect blue bird skies, temps in mid 20s, and no wind. I thought I took a bunch of pics, but apparently only took like 4. Snowmass tomorrow and then cross country skiing to some restaurant in the woods. Could be 10 inches of snow falling all day Sunday. I was planning on highlands Sunday, but the fam wants to do snowmass Sunday and highlands Monday. No biggie as Jeff said he likes snowmass best for powder. First impression of Aspen town was its not as snobby as I had imagined, a lot of lap dogs though. The convenience of the airport is also clutch1 point

My friends dad owns the Whitehall Ramada inn and I send everybody there lol..Tarpenhead stayed there a few years ago and said it was full of hookers. They used to have Vegas style pool parties. A couple fake palm trees next to Root 22 does not make Vegas1 point

Wait, is calling Salty "Sally" an insult? Because I feel like it's a least a lateral move if not a slight upgrade for Salty. I mean, one of us has big-girl skis and occasionally eats vegetables... 😁1 point
