  1. Hey all. Got the terrible news sent to me by a couple people so I figured I’d pop back on. Ive officially made the decision to start wearing a helmet the next time I ride. After 15ish years of riding and having my first “real” injury on a snow or skateboard it’s put some things in perspective. Not to mention I saw first hand a head trauma injury (I believe) in the ski patrol shack when I was in there and it was very frightening. Currently taking a lil break from PASR because it’s tough to read when I can’t ride. Sorry, just being honest. I still pop on every couple days to catch up. Keep rippin!

  2. February 11th 2019 Day 6 of 7 Hey All, Another fun day at Jackson hole mountain resort. First in line again for the gondola and the usual cast of characters in attendance including Bethlehem guy Bruce who’s lived here for 14 years, Dazzling Dennis and the Florida snowboarder we always see. First civilian gondola and at the top visibility not that good with flat light and snow falling. Down amphitheater which was good but not like yesterday’s boner doner tits McGee. Up Thunder and Down grand which was empty and smooth with about 2” of cream cheese on top of the groomed. Very nice. Sublette was closed due to the wind we had planned on skiing more Teton and Casper woods so went on south pass traverse to Casper lodge.. and up Casper lift. I did the stash park which had tons of fresh and Atomic Jeff did Moran woods which he said were nice and lots of untracked so we went back there so I could ski it. It was pretty nice and forgiving. We hit up Teton lift which had a pretty long line mainly comprised of Colorado Ikon passholders. Skied the wahahahooey glades..I found some nice fresh..then did Teton lift again talked to a couple from Golden Colorado who were surprised it was crowded on a Monday..then made our way over to the Marmet chair..skied the woods we did last year with the crew to both the left and right of Sundance. I had like five faceshots like 25 feet from the main run but ducked a rope to get them since I’m a badass..skied back to Marmet rode Marmet again and did the same run and I got a couple more faceshots..then took a combination of woods down to within about 800 vert above the base then took Sundance back down. We just hit up the mangy moose moose and I saw the guy who bummed a slice of Pizza off JFDan and we had a beer left in our second pitcher which I gave to him. Looking like somewhere around a foot plus of new snow on tap for tomorrow which is our last ski day.. Here’s some photos from today. I didn’t take many as it was cold out and bad visibility.

  3. This is where I was getting faceshots yesterday on a fucking groomer. Still some great conditions with a couple inches of new. That’s Atomic Jeff way in the distance where is everybody???

  4. Can I get 10% off of next year's pass by using my season pass discount?

  5. Have you seen the pics above? its really pretty easy to tell when a helmet has had an impact. I would rather see someone wear a helmet that may protect them, rather than no helmet. No helmet wont protect shit. Just stop thinking of ways to sue a ski resort all the time, ok?

  6. The longer the trip the better the chance. Today was pretty great, but not the epicness of yesterday. Still probably 10+ face shots each today.

  7. Wearing a helmet is a good choice but it’s gonna be brutal on that beautiful head of hair you got.

  9. Why dig a TRENCH between between razors and challenge? Challenge does often suck because everyone pushes the snow into the ditch. That’s why we ski the ditch. The TRENCH prevents us from skiing the ditch because the fuckin TRENCH removed the ditch. What’s not to understand?

  10. yup 5 hours, easy driving except through Teton pass. Speed limit is mostly 80 so I just put the cruise on 85 and rolled

  15. Really great conditions this fine evening! Crowds are minimal and the snows great. Guy on the lift with me right now is pretty stoked about razors.

  16. He should be. Saved a ton of money by not cleaning the windows ever.

  17. You are actually correct with this. If a patroler saw 1 person skiing fast on Paridise, and 1 person doing pizza out of control on challenge, the skier on Paradise will be stopped, or at least whistled at. Patrol could probably work on preventing accidents a little better.

  18. Not one of these deaths was caused by fast skiing on paradise...

  19. Sun Valley would be a cool place to check out if you can. I’d love to get there at some point.

  21. Hey everyone, I’m Antmans cousin. As many of you know, he can’t ride the rest of this season which is a huge bummer. Can’t wait till next season to ride with ya again cuz. We were both peak pass holders this season so I decided to head out towards roundtop today. Was not sure what to expect at all considering the trail map doesn’t show you too much detail. Rolled outta my house at 630 and got there around 830. Not too crowded at all. They were blowing snow all night and still when I left there which was a super nice touch. They left some trails not groomed so there was a few trails that had some major whale sightings. All in all the mountian was very similar to Jack Frost. Snow was super nice. Trails were too long and lifts lines were very fast. Terrain park was a little on the smaller side but still fun. Below are a few pics from the mountian. After this I ran over to liberty which is also on the peak pass. Place was jammed packed. Snow was beat up. The mountain looks like it has so much potential to be a lot of fun but it was just too crowded and icy today to really experience it all. Cheers!

  22. Blue runs are more like a minute and a half. Switchback is about 45 seconds long but takes some time on tuts lane to get there from the peak and then another minute or so on shuttle and the falls. Let me know when you’re coming to Blue on a weekday. I’ll try to bribe my boss with some pierogies to get the day off.

  23. Empty here this morning. Everything is nice but Challenge which is full of cookies. . Razors has some fun urea spots where you can get your drift on. Main St is my ROTD so far.

  25. If I only had one day to ski and it had to be in Pa. I'm on an Elk high at the moment....so I'd go there on a weekday for the terrain variety. Between Cb and Blue....I'd choose Blue but don't go on a weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  28. Came across an article today about skiing related deaths. The ten year average is .69 deaths per million visitors (from their data) so Blue is obviously way above average. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  33. Why not just make them free? Forget economics, paying employees and (gasp) companies turning a profit

  34. Beginners at blue have zero respect for the trail ratings and the ski patrol is more interested in jerking each other off and yelling at the competent skiers.

  35. It’s all good I’m eating Parmesan truffle fries and Atomic Jeff is chatting with people he knows from Harrisburg. My view before. And view now. With the mountain collective taking advantage of two days at Jackson hole is much advised considering day tickets are $153 each.

  36. Yeti makes more sense as “beginner terrain park” just couldn’t picture the jumps in there being aggressive enough. Probably lost control off of a jump and ran off the trail skiers left

  38. Good to see you guys out there killing it. Doug and Jeff are fucking powder magnets, its amazing how many dumps they seem to always get out there. @mbike-ski how is the the drive from SLC to Jackson? throwing around the possibility of extending my utah trip

  40. The first two runs on a weekend it usually is good but with razors closed for the race team and the narrowness it gets way too much traffic. Challenge is typically lipstick on a pig. Now later on when the marbles all get pushed off and smoothed our it can be ok.

  41. Thanks for the optimism @toast21602...GSS just has some snow in his lady parts.

  42. It turned out that yesterday’s snow was 16” and only .65” of liquid which makes it just over 4% in density. I didn’t need JH avalanche to tell me it was blower..nucking futs http://www.jhavalanche.org/viewAdvisory

  44. Great trip, really fun time skiing and hanging out with Jeff, Doug, Mike and Tom. A little bit of me wishes my timing was a little different, but had 4 great days of skiing, that cant be replicated on the east coast That being said, this will go down as my first and worst travel experience ever. Pretty much everybody has had travel issues. My flight from Dallas almost didnt attempt to go to JH. It left late, got to JH with no vis, and then went to SLC. After about an hour at slc, we went back to JH. I spent alot of time on an airplane that day. My tolerence for sitting still is about 45 mins. This was a rough day for me. The worst was Mike having to drive from SLC to JH. Jeff, Doug and Mike spent most of the day at newark after thier flight was canned Tom is getting back to Phl maybe 2 hrs before me, although he left 6 1/2 hrs before me. I think his flight out was a-ok though. No Saltyant BS complaining here, like when has burger isnt centered on the bun or theres only 2 pickles instead of 3. Wont be looking for any gift cards from anyone, hell i dont even know where my skis and undies are at this point. What i do know, is this is part of what we do, flying around in the winter has its risks, it altered some times, made for a long day at times, but so far didnt fuck up anybodys trip yet. No second thoughts here if all this was a good idea or not. it was. Merder the Perder, fellas.

  45. Another great day at Jackson Hole. Saratoga Bowl was again awesome. I don't think I've ever skied it with so much coverage. I managed to grab a couple pics of @NMSKI shredding the gnar.
