Prediction...Vail makes a play on Blue and PASR (similar to what they did with EpicSki) to corner the Pennsylvania market. Jeff cashes in and moves to Aspen. Doug creates Dougski (not to be confused with Pugski) where Salty is given mod powers.11 points

As a refresher, last year at this time the base was so skimpy we were unsure if the PA skison would last past the first weekend in March. We are now at 100% open with a nice base and snow in the forecast.5 points

Blue will not be on the Epic pass next year. Keep dreaming (not of rollers on Razors).4 points

PTSD? I hit a tree this afternoon flying off the lip of a traverse, judo rolled to avoid a full frontal or head collision and took the full brunt of the hit on the left side of my back into a partial tree well. Knocked the wind out of me and I couldn't breathe for about 30 seconds. Took me 10 minutes to extricate myself from that due to my ski being buried under my ass in 2 ft of snow and couldn't use my poles to get up because the snow was so DEEEEEEEEEEEEP! Managed to ski out and do 2 more groomer runs. Came home and spent 2 hours plowing snow before my back cramped up. Ate some Celebrex, a 500mg Naprosyn and a shot of Jaeger, Slept for 3 hours. Back is sore as hell. Didn't piss or cough up any blood, so I'll prolly dial it back and ski groomers in the AM unless I can't move. I'll report back tomorrow if I had any nightmares about trees. More likely nightmares about Zero Gravity Madonna DIPA which I drank on the lift ride up.4 points

At this point it just is what it is. Nobody here is happy that you were injured and we’re all glad it was anything serious. They should be called out for their errors that day, but if they aren’t going to do anything about it then that’s it. Is it something to leave the place over? Probably not. I called them out when a pancake sized slop of grease fell off the Burma lift and ruined my new jacket. Their fault? That’s debatable, but I’ve bever seen that much grease fall from a lift in my life. It was like a pint of ice cream. If they wouldn’t have righted their wrong and given me the same response you got I’d be bummed too. One thing is for sure, though.. it would take a hell of a lot of Blue mountain fuck ups to leave skiing with all of you fuck ups.3 points

And you can call them to mark any hazards you come across! I feel for ya root, heal up soon. I had a similar experience last year on NMDW when they seeded bumps on the left side of DW on a 0 viz morning. I was lucky I didn’t get seriously hurt. I was pissed and let skipo know it until they got out there and marked it with lolipops and paint. But ya got to let it go and get back out there! Oops think I’m in the wrong thread.... Thanks, I've been doing the Wim Hof method for 3 months now, and actually laid in the snow on my back for about 15 minutes, then took a hot shower and went to bed. I credit it for helping me regain control of my breathing after impact as well. Most of the pain from yesterday has reduced to about a 1 foot diameter area in the middle of my back in the thoracic zone. A plus is the fact that I had some kinda pinched nerve in my neck that was shooting electrical impulses down the left side of my neck into the left shoulder. Not painful, just a weird sensation. That's gone. Poor man's chiropractic treatment. I plan to get a few early runs in before driving Ms. Daisy to her nail appointment at noon. No more beers if I'm skiing trees. I feel pretty lucky that I avoided serious injury.3 points

Hey All, I’m back from a fun evening session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 620pm just a minute too late to see NMSki in his righty whities. Also in the house were Johnny Law, Atomic Jeff, Indiggio and Denise. The temperature was around 30 with light winds and a full moon. First run was down Main Street and it had a few bumps and some sugar and even a few Root rollers. Next run on lazy mile was crazy mile and not the best snow. Paradise was the run of the night smooth and semi fast and no SP3000. One run on Dream Weaver was filled with unmarked Root rollers and Switchback was smooth and slick...I skied until 830 and the boys did another run or two then had two beers and some of Schifdawgs famous cheese balls in the lot. All in all a fun night session and only a handful of buses. JADIP2 points

If that doesn’t work out I’m going to put my plan into effect, which is to get a part time job in the cafeteria and work until i’ve earned enough credit to equal the worth of the entire property, forcing them to give it to me in lieu of griftcards when I leave on unpleasant terms.2 points

It's been an exceptionally great snow season up here. we got 3-6" forecasted for Wed/Thurs.2 points

Kinda hard to compare this year to last at this point. But as a refresher last year they were 100% open earlier, and to this date, i would bet we had more snow, and not the bullshit snow/sleet/freezing rain/rain. I do remember the late feb warm up too, but we had some skeet spots in like december too. We have had a metric shit ton of rain this year. This could all change over the next month, so like i said, kinda hard to say this year is better than last. So far, i think last year was better.2 points

Interestingly enough, tubing is closed tomorrow. and i saw that a week ago or whatever. I guess tubing with sleet/ice is dangerous. Management being proactive, i guess because they dont have tubing patrolers? And yeah, its pretty obvious SP3000 takes full advantage of skiing empty trails until 8 am, then starts checking the slopes.2 points

I am fortunate that 99% of my poops take place before 7 am. Its a rarity that i have to poop anytime after early am, if i do, i am probably sick. I have 0 poops at any ski resort, and only one airport poop to my name. If you do have to poop on the road, a lowes or Home depot usually have nice clean bathrooms in the am.2 points

I noticed the same thing on the way up to Maine. Once we got out of the immediate area, the selection went downhill pretty fast.2 points

I think we've all determined that they just ski around on the fresh cord because they're SP. Like previously stated, they wait until the mountain is open to close trails to mark them. <sheesh>2 points

The pants I got were about $40 each, but were in perfect condition. Would be bout $100 I think if I got them new. Plus I feel happy about reusing something and not contributing to waste.2 points

Will evaluate when I see the prices. Last year kids were $469. It is a much more attractive proposition than a Blue only pass certainly.1 point

This brings up something I occasionally think about. If you were stringing together a series of "trails" here in the Pocono region, what is the longest top to bottom route you could make? For example at Montage I used to start at the top of the Shuttle lift in front of the lodge, wind down Easy Street, come out of that with speed and cut up and over the bunny slope, down the unnamed path past the Iron Horse lift, down Lower Runaway, cut over to lower fast track, then come down across the bottom and end at Phoebe Snow.1 point

Would have been better customer service to offer a loyal pass holder who got hurt due to their negligence something for sure regardless of having CYA boilerplate on their passes. But never had the impression these folks were all warm and fuzzy in the way they operate.1 point
