  2. Hey All, I’m back from a fun session at Blue mountain. Today was like an other weekend session except I skied 3 hours later than normal. Bob the deadhead liftee said we must be in California lol. In the house were NMSki, Shadows, Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law, gahskier George, Slim and silver full face helmet guy. Arrived at the lower lot before 1045 and was on the snow by 11. Dense fog was present on the top 3/4 of the mountain the majority of the time. At first I was skiing a little slower as I couldn’t see the snow surface but as the runs progressed I got more confident skiing by Braille and put the hammer down. Lazy and paradise were skied the most..I also skied Switchback twice which had really nice snow and lower widowmaker to Main Street to lower Main Street. Temperaturs stayed around 40 and it was damp and the winds picked up. Snow was the hero variety..zero complaints about the snow was fast and soft and smooth due to lack of traffic. Was nice to have a break from the sugar before it returns this week. After skiing two hours hungout in the lot another hour and now at work logging in Saturday’s mail orders. Only picture I took was my breakfast sandwich from Sheetz. Fried egg, bacon, cheddar, tomato and pico on everything bagel. Not bad. I should be back at Blue on Tuesday night...JADIP!!

  3. Today besides the low vis was pretty great. Best part though was maybe the ladies from nj talking glamour shots in the parking lot.

  4. Inside tip for Mute, Ryan and Toast..when the liftline for the Thunder chair looks like this, take the Marmot lift instead, it will have zero line..from there can ski lots of woods and go over to Casper and Teton lifts.

  5. I don't know what to think about that. This is seriously a full generation of people? We're fucked.

  6. I feel like some people were skiing a different mountain than me today

  7. This advertisement by Camelback doesn't surprise me in the least. They have a history of misleading and outright lying to their own clientele. At least they've not done the unforgivable and used a stock photo from another mountain on their website.

  8. Sounds great but probably not very realistic. Each area should have a pass specific to that mountain IMO for a little less dough. I feel bad for the locals at liberty or whitetail who now need to drop all that coin just to ski their local hill.

  10. Most likely not. Sorry to disappoint! The joke here is the Value Pass is only good for evening sessions during the weekend, but they compare it to full passes at other resorts without explaining it. Shady advertising!

  11. Blue removed the ski racks outside the lower lot west side entrance by the restrooms. Off to Facebook to kick and scream.

  16. Does your wife get to go out on her own also? Pretty important she has the opportunity to do so also. One weekend day for you with a very young family is a win in my book.

  17. Shes 1(19 months to be exact). So a bit young to go skiing. Other than my in laws, no one is ever around to babysit so that doesn't help. I have been able to get out pretty much every weekend, so I cant complain too much.

  18. I have to disagree that Boulder has the best view. Blue has an awesome view from the top. That ridge is a gem ... Hawk Mountain, The Pinacle, Pulpit Rock. Appalachian Trail. It’s so cool to stand at the top and see snow squalls in the distant hills, bald eagles. It’s different every time I’m there.

  19. Actually I live outside of Reading (Sinking Spring). Nothing's wrong with Blue, but I couldn't pass up the $ 150 season pass to Montage. Montage is ~20 min further than Blue for me, I usually make pretty good time on 476. Honestly though, I'll pretty much ride anywhere...I'm pretty easily entertained. Planning on at least one trip to Blue later in the season. I'll have to check that out. It has actually been pretty good this year up until today. And yeah, Cloudy is great, I picked up cans of that and Tickle Parts. Last time I checked it was 10 am or so and it wasn't running. I asked and they were planning on opening it, but not sure if it ever did.

  20. Got there around 8:30 and parked in the third row. I was shooting for an 8 AM arrival but I wasn't feeling that great the past few days...my daughter was sick last weekend - she picks up all kinds of germs at day care and usually passes them on. Did a few runs on Cannonball and Runaway/Fast Track, and checked on the Long Haul (wasn't running). Conditions were pretty firm/packed powder and frozen cord. Did a few runs on smoke/boomer and then decided to crack the lift beer I was saving for the Long Haul. Lapped Boomer and Smoke for a bit and then did 3 runs on White Lightning. Pretty much everything was groomed flat except for some small bumps on the left side of White Lightning. Had a nice fall - belly flopped and slid catching a bump I didn't see. After that I checked on the Long Haul again, but still not running. I did some runs on Rattler to Cannonball and just kept hitting Boomer/Smoke. Rattler had some cookies at the top but wasn't too bad. I called it a day around 11:30 since I still wasn't feeling that great. I skipped Breaker Brewing this time...wife wants to go out to dinner and after a few beers and some food there I usually don't eat the rest of the day. I did stop at Saucony Creek in Kutztown for a quick lunch (short rib sliders and an IPA). Overall not a bad day. I was hoping the sun would come out and the snow would soften up a bit, but that didn't really happen.

  29. Yep too young to ski, and a fine time to ski less and bond with daughter more. In a couple years you can bond on the slopes and the sooner you start her the sooner she wont be willing to wait up for you going down the slopes.

  30. Yeah although she doesn't get out as often. Most weeknights she relaxes and I keep my daughter occupied which is probably nice for her. I've been trying to get her out on the slopes again too which I think she would enjoy.

  32. After being married for almost 30 years now, my wife is more than happy to let me ski both weekend days just to get me out of her hair for a while, so she can do whatever she pleases without me pestering her to do stuff I want her to do. With the way the weather has been this year, she also doesn't have to hear me bitching about that either. She's not good at understanding the weather, so thought it was going to rain all day, which is why she made plans.

  34. I'm out. Wife thought I wouldn't ski because of the rain and made plans for me. Snow should be excellent.

  40. Snow was alot better than I would have thought, snow was much more even than Thursday night. Lower park is irrelevant. Switch was good and sidewinder is still super playful. Tarpon - Death Posture is crazy good beer and the abv creeps lol EAF ! - I have a pair of stockli stormriders that haven't left my basement since last year. If you like stockli's so much they are yours, somebody should ride them.

  45. I did a quick 15 minute hike up to the headwall for some untracked turned as it snowed 26” since it last opened. It was pretty good. Unfortunately I did it alone so I didn’t have a photographer, so I took a pic of my line at the bottom
