  1. Corbet’s ✔️ Took an early bus, met up with PASR round 3 crew for first tram. Dropped Corbet’s, down to the Cirque, and into Amphitheater. Now time for a few cruisers before taking the bus back to town for an afternoon flight. JA-fucking-DIP

  2. Our first ski day at Jackson Hole and it didn’t disappoint. Even though we didn’t get much fresh, it flurried at the top most of the day so we had some new snow in which to play. Started the day at typical o-dark-thirty due to being in East Coast time and adrenaline. Made our way to the base, arriving around 8:15 to an empty gondola line. Shortly after more people arrived, but wasn’t anything major. Blue Mountain crew, first in line! While waiting for the open, i happens to look back at the line and wait! Could it be? The best skiers on the mountain: @toast21602 and @mute1080! They opened the gondola on time and we rode the first civilian gondola to start the day off right. Up the gondola and cruised down Amphitheater to Thunder. Couldn’t really let loose due to the flat light, flurries and thoughts of GSS sliding down the mountain racing through my mind. At the top of Thunder, @toast21602 and @mute1080 caught up to us and after a few intros and discussions, decided to take Grand and up Sublette. From Sublette we went over to Bivouac woods, which had plenty of snow and were lots of fun! We lapped Sublette a few times, allowing everyone to pick where they wanted to go/try and then regrouping at the lift. Lines were starting to increase at Sublette, so we left and made our way over to Apre-Vous and dropped into Saratoga to check it out, minor mistake. Due to its lower altitude and exposure, the snow was crusty and annoying. Had to stay to the North side of the slope next to trees to find anything fair. We bolted outta there. Took the gondola up to Rondezvous lodge to eat our packed lunch, while @toast21602 and @mute1080 made a run. A few of us rode up w/ an instructor from NH and we discussed the Ikon pass issue and he tipped us on where to ski the rest of the day. We made our way back to Thunder and lapped Tower Three and the Thunder trees until our legs gave out and called beer:30, while others pressed on. Moose on the loose! Who poured that beer? Cough @toast21602 Moose taint and titties for @GrilledSteezeSandwich Blue is everywhere! All in all, one of the most fun ski days I’ve ever had. It was a pleasure spending the day skiing around Jackson Hole with @toast21602, the best skier on the mountain, @mute1080, perhaps the second best skier on the mountain (those two can fight it out), @tarponhead, I’ll let him decide where he stands in the rankings and a bunch of Blue Mountain bumpers. So glad I got the opportunity to come out here and share the experience, even though I’m like the 734 best skier at Blue, I don’t even rank with skiers out here!

  4. Very good snow today, enjoyed everything but lower Main Street. I swear that Upper and Lower Main must be groomed by two different people. How can Upper be sooo good and Lower so bad? And where this the find those ice balls after the snow was so good yesterday? Tough to complain much about that though, when everything else was so good. Just have to be ready to check it up heading into Lower Main, no matter how good it was up top. Got on the snow about 8:15, not sure if anyone was able to sneak into Razors or NMDW but all three were closed when we made it to the top. Started with a run down Switchback and it was smooth cord with only a few tracks. A great run down and back up for a Sidewinder lap. We’ve started trying to hit Sidewinder pretty early before the bottom gets destroyed by traffic checking up for the Lazy intersection. Had planned on doing Lower Sidewinder but ran into some super slow traffic towards the bottom, so when they dropped into Lower I bailed over to Falls instead. Pops didn’t get the memo and continued into Lower, I watched from Falls and dropped in to meet him on Homestretch. Another great run and it was back up to complete the blues with a Lazy lap. Great snow again, had a small ventral ridge groomed in about halfway down, was fun when I found that by accident, but no big deal. Took Lower Sidewinder that time and back to the six pack where we found the crowd was big enough for a liftie out grouping people together, but none on scene yet. This led to a couple of little kids trying to simultaneously force their way through the crowd to the front (to the point where one of them had their skis on top of my dad’s tips) while turning to motion to their friends to come join them. Then at the load, three snowboarders went out together from the left chute in front of us to join the four skiers coming out of the other two. Now, this might be fine in a few years after Vail puts in the 8 person lift, but it wasn’t gonna end well today. I started yelling “Too many, too many, one of you had to stay back!” and luckily one of them heard and scooted back in time to avoid a chair shutdown. Pops and I scooted out to ride with the lone boarder since no one from the other two chutes moved out. Actually had a nice chat on the ride up. We decided to take a Burma chair ride to hit Widowmaker and give the six pack line a chance to normalize with a liftie, so took Main down and discovered the variable grooming. The top was so good though. Up Burma to Widowmaker and it was so good we had to rip it three times with Vista chair rides between. Good opportunity for a Mikes Harder on the lift. Back in the valley we opted for a quad ride, where there was no liftie but the wait was pretty short. Took another Switchback run and stopped halfway down to help a kiddo get his skis back on and underway so his dad could stop skating 50yards uphill. Finished the run and headed up the 6. Liftie out, little wait. On the way up we discussed another Lazy run, but I decided to run Sidewinder down to the cut over to Lazy before the last bit, and arrived there the same time as Pops who must have been going balls out to get there just before me. Headed down and took the six again for another Switchback and made it down without a stop that time. It was almost time to head out and start grilling, the snow was just too good though and we needed one more. Decided on the quad and on the way up noticed that NMDW and Razors had opened, so we decided to run Nightweaver. But once we got to the drop in I couldn’t turn down Razors so I ran that while Pops ran nightweaver. Met up at the bottom and headed out to the lot. After a fun sausage Sunday (highlight was the pulled pork flatbreads; the Sam’s Choice sausages from Wal Mart were pretty tasty too) my wife showed up with the boys and we took my 5 year old over for his first timer lesson with Niko. He did well and had fun but struggles to even make a wedge, so we’ll have to work on that. He still wanted to ski so we drove up to the summit and make a few more runs down the school hill up there. Put his little backpack on him and thought I would use the leash deals to send him down ahead of me and control his speed that way, but found it was easier to just grab the straps of the pack and ski down with him between my skis. Yeah, he wasn’t really doing or learning anything, but just getting him the feeling of going downhill and excited to be on skis I’m counting as a win.

  5. I not believe it, one second you’re there, the next you’re around the corner and guy above said he’s good. I had your back! 😉 Spectacular! Thank goodness your weren’t like this guy shortly after... Note where his skis are!

  6. Wasn’t going to buy a ticket for 90 minutes at JH so I decided to go to Snow King. It was a nice 15 minute walk through town. Google maps was clueless for where I should go and there is no signage on the street on how to get to the ticket office or where to go to ski. Also thought they opened at 9 but that’s just on the weekend, 10 during the week. Finally found the hut next to the summit lift and was informed the half day pass starts at one. Only could ski for an hour with my flight today so I cheaped out and walked back. There also wasn’t a lodge area to put my shoes so I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them. Was a nice walk though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Took a nice scenic drive up north. We checked out the rio grande gorge which was cool. Lots of clouds covering the mountains, hoping a nice layer of fresh snow is up there. I noticed that Kachina has been closed the last several days due to control work. Maybe it opens again tomorrow if I’m lucky!

  10. My work schedule didn’t allow for me to travel to Blue today, so I took the opportunity to go Nordic skiing. I did 5 miles in the beautiful woods of Loantaka. I had to break trail for the first 1.5 miles. Tiring and it took me a while to find my stride. After that, there were enough skiers out and one I was in the tracks I really found my groove. A beautiful sunny day and no wind. I don’t do this often enough.

  11. I’ve had a couple real nice days in Albuquerque, a nice run, some hiking in an old volcanic area with ancient native drawings all over the place, some good New Mexican food and beers. Packed up this morning and heading up to the mountains now.

  13. Ist day.. Hopped on the Snow Bus at 11:10. Warmed up to 0° by that time. After a 22 min ride we hopped of at the base lodge. Brilliant sunshine and no wind brought out a larger crowd said a local. It was also Montanas' Special Olympics day. But there was no wait at any lift we were on. Spent the next 2 1/2 hrs cruising the Blues and exploring a small portion of the 3000 acres, 126 trails. Dad went off the back side and did some trees. The surface was great, soft bumps, smooth grooming, wide trails. Tons of fun! Hit the bar, checked our skis overnight, and caught the 3:15 bus and headed to town. On the bus we ran into the locals who gave us the tips this morning. They introduced us to the bartenders at the Great Northern microbrewery and we bought them a beer. Super friendly and down to earth, fellow Old Pharts. Showers, then and a carb, and grease filled meal at the Bulldog Bar. Rated as one of the nations top dives and we agree, plus their fresh breaded mushrooms were the best any of us has ever had. Now watching the "behind the scenes" of Caddyshack and cracking up, with a Yukon Jack in hand... night all.. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  15. Hey all, I’m back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I was starving like Marvin on the drive up didn’t really eat anything since noon yesterday except for some pretzels and hummus. Stopped at Sheetz and had fried egg, bacon, cheddar, tomato, onion and salsa on an everything bagel and OJ..arrived at the lower lot at 750am and shadows and JFDan were in the house and the temperature was in the upper 20s with moderate winds. 6-7” of new snow had fallen between about 4pm and 1am. First civilian chair and skied razors which had been groomed but some little ripples of new snow..fierce headwind from the north though. We were also joined by GahSkier George for a few runs. Sidewinder was nice and the Root rollers were more like pillows..scores some untracked lower left under the six pack...Right side of nightmare bumps had some nice fresh as well along with X-ing and left side of Barneys. As the morning progressed a decent amount of people showed up and there was a couple minute long liftline by like 10am. Seemed like about half season passholders. With breaks of sunshine illuminating the new snow today could have been a day for brochure pictures. If you’ve been waiting for good ski conditions and all trails open...This Is It!!!

  23. Camelback only groomed the greens and half the blues. Most of you would love it but for me it takes the blacks completely out of play. Salty has a video of me coming down Rocket like a ra-tard that he’ll probably post later. Salty, after we parted ways Pops and I found all the trails under the Glen lift have awesome conditions. We’ve been lapping it since. Eating burgers right now then headed out for some more. Tacos to wait for the ride out.

  31. It’s so steep you’ll be climbing up on your hands and knees..I’m sure he got the skis somehow but by the time you’re back into your skis and get your bearings your skiing will suffer because it’s so mental. The highs and lows of being a skier. This guy went heli skiing and was hit by a snow snake..insane

  32. Had a pretty good day at Scranton's premier airboarding resort and waterpark... Got there around 9:30, little later than expected. Friend met me in Allentown and I drove from there. He was running late, so I picked up some beer at Whole Foods. Snow was pretty decent still when we got there, still a good bit of fresh stuff on some of the trails. White Lightning was pretty good and still some fresh snow off of the side of Smoke. Long Haul was running all day so did a bunch of runs off of that. Rattler to Cannonball was also pretty good up. Hit some of the glades off of Upper Fast Track, snow was pretty good, but a little slow, especially since that section isn't that steep. Hopefully the storm Sunday will fill some stuff in on the bottom section of the mountain. Today was Mountainfest or whatever with pond skimming, so we caught a bit of that. Not that exciting, but watched a few people wipe out. There was a local beer distributor giving out free burgers and beer at the top of the Phoebe Snow lift, which was awesome. They had cans of Troeg's Hop Knife and some Stone IPA's and lagers. Also brought along a few beers from Levante, and I picked up some Left Hand Raspberry Milk Stout at Whole Foods that was pretty good. Hit Breaker Brewing on the way home, had a flight and some tacos.

  38. 3rd and final day at sugarbush in the books, arrived at Super bravo at 7:50, 3rd chair up down to heavens gate chair and took that to the top and down jester for a warmup, back up bravo to heavens gate and down organ grinder, once back at the base we headed over to gatehouse to meet up with the rest of our group. We lapped sunrise a few times and the crowds started to get insane at 9:45 so we headed over to Mt Ellen thinking it would be a little less crowded. Mt Ellen was fairly empty for the most part. Spent a good part of the day skiing off the summit quad and the other quad that unloads at the base of that. Can’t remember what trails I did, skied bell to bell today and now I’m feeling it. I tried to track everything with the slopes app but it only registered 7 runs for some reason. All in all it was was a good trip, good weather, good snow.

  39. Just leaving now. Had a great day🙂. Got on the snow around 830. Was ready to throw in the towel after 4 runs. Just couldn’t get it together. Goggles kept steaming up, I was clumsy. Around 930 decided to take a layer off and have a beer. What a difference! Had a great rest of day. They opened Razors and NMDW got to ski lots of bumpy stuff. Leaving now, glad I stayed. 👍👍 kinda day.
