  1. Day 5 was the snowiest day so far, with the mountain claiming 6” new, but skiing around it was definitely more than that. Got to the base to find some local boarder chick who works 3 jobs to live out here, had beat us to first in line. When they opened, she literally sprinted up to get the first car. It was snowing at the base, but it was very warm, shoulda dressed like a beachgoer today. Up the gondola and into the clouds, visibility was quite poor, so we decided to make our way over to the Teton lift and lap the trees in Moran Face a bunch of times. With the clouds and the snow falling, we tried going lower to Apres Vous and skirt the top of Saratoga, but found that the precipitation was turning to sleet at the bottom so we headed up the gondi for lunch. After lunch we lapped the tree runs off Thunder which still held a ton of snow, then headed to Sublette. Off Sublette we hit some of the South facing runs like Bird In Hand and Table Rock that had crappy snow the days before. The last ride up Sublette we made our way down to the Hobacks. We had no problems entering, but many had already been through and cut the place up pretty good. The snow also was already getting crusty, so we stayed on North facing aspects as much as possible. From there we skied back to the condo for a rest and then headed over to the Moose for some drinks. it wasn’t a blower powder day, but spectacular nonetheless! A few pics from the Hobacks @tarponhead‘s lasagna, delicious!

  2. So rolled outta the house at the bright hour of 3am. Picked up the buddies and headed up to Dover Vermont. Got up here around 9 915. Soon after cracked that bottle of proper 12 and got at it. Completely blown away with mount snow. Had an awesome day and captured some of it thanks to Antman’s GoPro that he let me borrowed (thanks again). Cathrina is incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever had as much fun as I did before riding terrain before I hit the runs here. Saving the half pipe for Sunday and cannot wait for it. Other than that the entire mountain was incredible. Dope snow. Very very little patches of ice on maybe one or two trails. Glades were super fun and not icy at all like blue. Can’t wait to get after it tomorrow.

  3. Day 5: Partial sun and warm 22° when we started our last day. Another 1" or 2" overnight. Conditions again are excellent. Sure is nice being able to see. The weekend crowd was evident in slightly more lift lines and somewhat more crowded trails. 9 runs then off to have a cup of soup and a couple of beers at The Hellroaring Saloon then caught the bus to town. Dinner at the Buffalo Cafe. Great Burgers. Whitefish has everything. A nice mountain with tons of varied terrain for all abilities. Not huge but big enough. Great Restaurants, a Microbrewery, a genuine fantastic Dive Bar and great locals. And all at very reasonable prices. I can see why Sibhusky moved here! If you get the chance, you will be impressed too... Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  5. Ten minuses to karma for forgetting about me. And the snow really was the best of the best. There wasn't a trail that was bad, deciding which one to ski next was the biggest dilemma of the night.

  7. Arrived up top at 545 with the wife and daughter. Met up with another couple and child to let the kids get some time on school hill. Other couple rented skis for their daughter while my daughter was rocking some 70 cm Little Bums plastic skis with boot straps. Walked up from rentals to find school hill closed, even though the website lists it as open. Drove to the bottom and ended up on Frontier Alley since the wives couldn’t get in to watch at Valley School. Had to look Frontier Alley up because I would have called it left of the quad. I’m assuming FA was closed because it wasn’t groomed and less then 5 people came through it. Fortunately the half hike up Headwall last weekend prepped me for the 50 foot repeated hikes with the little one. Fun night getting her on the snow for the first time. Even got her first season pass that we’ll hold on to in a baby book somewhere. Snow on the rest of the mountain looked nice as well even though I didn’t get out there. Kids split a chicken finger and fry(saved $1.03 with the season pass, ballin’) and then we left around 8. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Day 3, damn was it windy. I’m happy I got any skiing in today, I was really surprised there were no wind holds to start off. Started off the day with 2 steep tree runs off of Bambi ridge. First did Sir Arnold Lunn, then Lorelei Trees. Pockets of powder, some nice bumpy flow and a bit of crusty snow in the more sparse trees. Went over to the backside where it was less windy and skied Hunziker Bowl, Totally Wiard, El Funko and some groomers. Some nice wind-filled spots here and there. Made a hike up the ridge and skied Zdarsky again which I’m really enjoying. I made plans to meet my wife and mom for lunch so I took 7a up to the top and dropped into the Werner Chute into Longhorn for a 1,600 ft vertical thigh burner. The winds filled up Werner with 3-4 inches of snow and it skied beautifully. ROTD for sure. After lunch, lifts 1 and 2 were shut down so I drove up an icy mountain road to the backside and parked at the Bavarian which is near the bottom of lift 4. Did a couple runs until they shut down 4 and then I called it a day. Needed a beer after the drive down, it was rough in the rental car. All in all it was a good day and I have some left in the tank for tomorrow. Sir ARnold Zdarsky West Basin Totally Wiard

  12. Splitting nachos with Atomic Jeff forces me to eat fast..the Mangy has some good nachos. I only had nachos this last trip at the Silver dollar bar and they were about 1/3 as large as the Mangy ones but I ordered a small. Mangy just one size. I would talk about nachos more but i already have a half Chubb from the pictures.

  14. Hey All, I’m back from a fun night session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 635pm and it was in the mid 20s with light winds. In the house were Nastar Glenn, MBike Mike, Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law, PARidge, TP4, VTMark, Salty and probably some others I missed. I skied from about 655-845 I skied nightmare to dreamweaver once and razors the rest of the time. Conditions were top notch with a few slick spots around the Root rollers on dreamweaver. Was fun skiing amazing how I went from being tired and having a headache on the drive up to flying down the mountain and then drinking heady topper thanks to Nastar Glenn...temperatures dropped to around 20 degrees and they closed at 9 instead of 10...all in all was a fun night session. I’ll be back Saturday AM I don’t know if you’ve heard..no it’s not about the bird..yeah I know you’re thinking the bird is the word but no Saturday is when it’s gonna be really good..trust me..see everybody Saturday AM!!

  15. I think I'll join you guys tomorrow if I can bum a buddy pass from someone. More than happy to trade beer or some cash for a pass, just don't want to pay window price to ride until lunch time. What time do you guys usually show up?

  19. Day 2: started two hours earlier and we were at the top of the mountain at 10:00 with a temp of 10°-- and bright sunshine no wind. Pretty similar to the first day. Exploring and learning more of the trails. We skied out the back side of the mtn most of the day, then had a late bowl of chili at the on mountain Hellroaring Saloon and Eatery. The original 1949 lodge. Clouds began forming by the afternoon and light snow was predicted. Back to Whitefish and a great Italian meal at Ciao Mahmbo for dinner. Shrimp fra diavlo... Day 3: Wow a heatwave, 22° but breezier and fully overcast. 2-3" of fresh snow made skiing real nice. Again did most of our skiing on the backside and ended the day again at the Hellroaring. Tonight's meal was at the Tupelo Cafe. Buffalo meat loaf, garlic mash etc.. Day 4: 27° and snowing! Our breakfast stop was crowded so we caught the 9:40 bus and found about 6" of fresh with snow still falling. Unfortunately the famous Whitefish Fog was making its presence known. We made the mistake of taking the high speed to the top ist lift. It was so foggy you couldn't see your ski boots. Truly Socked In!! Two braille runs then decided to go back to the base and ski the lower lifts. On the way back down, Big Al found a tree well. Fortunately the trail we were on was so steep that he ended up on the downhill side and wasn't buried. He lost one ski and his poles before entry and had a terrible time freeing himself of his remaining ski and extricating himself. We were below him and had a hell of a time working our way uphill to help. 10 minutes later Al was back in his skis and us Old Phartz were beat. That was it and after getting to the base we called it. By that time the sun broke out on the bottom of the mtn but the top was still socked in. Just another experience we'll talk about for the rest of our lives.. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

  20. Screen grab from a video that @indiggio‘s buddy got of me dropping into Corbet’s. Not super impressive but definitely a bucket list run that I’ve been wanting to hit since I first went out to JH 10+ years ago.

  30. Salty and I were admiring your moves on Razor from the lift... - What an awesome pair of skis he has, said I. - No, what an awesome skier he is, mumured Salty. Now having slept on it, I tend think: "what awesome snow it was" 😀
