  1. Day 4 - Killington Up way too early, after too late of a night at The Foundry, packed and stopped at the bakery for a bacon, egg, Vermont Cabot cheese bagel and headed to the mountain. Met up with the other BM bumpers and took first gondola up in 40 degree, partly sunny weather. Ripped straight down Cascade that had surprisingly good snow the entire run. Guess it never really got cold enough to fully set up. Since the snow was good we decided to do the peak to creek run which would have been impossible yesterday due to the warm, wet, slow snow. A fun, full-out run all the way down to the Skyship gondola base. After all the bumps yesterday, the thighs were screaming. Gahskier George was up this year and had never been to Cooper’s cabin, so we had to show him that. Off on a little tour of the mountain that included hitting a couple of the new tunnels and various woods runs. Peaces out about 11:30 for the ride home. Stopped at the market for gas and a spicy turkey wrap with raspberry mayo. Arrived home right at 5:00pm after an uneventful ride home. BM represents at BMMC! SlimBob took a cool pic of us in The Light BM bumpers at Cooper’s cabin

  2. Johnny law is in Tahoe for 9 days but if he was around he’d say we are just particles composed mainly of water floating around on a oscillating rock sliding down frozen HOH on 7 feet long wooden sticks..intoxicating ourselves with fermented barley and hops and indulging in the charred flesh of inferior creatures.

  4. Great day of spring riding with Doug and Root. Only had to wear under armour and a t shirt. Didn't know this would be my last day, but looks like it is based on boulders Facebook. No big deal, this was one of my best seasons ever

  6. Hey All, I’m back from a fun session at Camelback. My first time there since 2013. I arrived at the main lot below guest services around 8am and in the house were Root, TP4 and Blue mountain liftee bob wearing a deadhead shirt. After receiving free ticket went over to the CBK lodge to boot up. The temperature was in the mid 40s under sunny sky’s. Began on the Stevenson lift in the shadow of the new hotel...the hotel and water park are huge and the parking lot for them was pretty filled up. First skied Cliffhanger which was stiff cruddy snow and a little semi frozen coed. Did Nile mile and took a piss on one of the corners. Repeated nile and cliffhanger then cut across to the Sullivan lift. The snow near the peak was stiff semi stiff but softened pretty fast. Skied the famous front four Marjies, The Hump and Asp and the rocket. All good marjies and big pocono the best..then made way back over to the east side via pocono raceway which had nice smooth corn... Revisited Cliffhanger again and still not very good @saltyant would have been sad because it’s his favorite double diamond. By now Nile mike was prime...best spring snow on the mountains and I put the hammer down on the turns. Ended the session with pocono raceway one more time and back to the car. Skied 20 runs total in about 2 hours then hungover in the lot for maybe 45 minutes. I wasnt super excited to ski camelback today but hard to pass up on free April skiing and I don’t have fuck all to do..one thing is that closing day at Blue is rowdy and at camelback the crowd was really mellow..and yes I haven’t been to camelback in 6 years well liftee bob hasn’t been there since 1985 wow just wow.

  8. Yeah I don't keep track of stats either. Skiing/riding in PA is still fun for me though (although 2 days of cat skiing is going to be tough to beat, even though there was no fresh snow). I'm happy just to get out and do some runs, and if it sucks, there's always beer.

  9. I really like skiing, but lets face it, i kinda feel like skiing Blue is what i do in between skiing "other mountains," and by that i mean skiing on slopes comprised of snow dropped from heaven in large quantities, where the suckiest day is one where it hasnt snowed in 4 days. Blues conditions swing from sucksville to awesome and back again several times a season. And when it is awesome, its still just Blue. Same 8 trails over and over again. Glades at Blue are just pretty comical as well. The best day i ever had at blue was what, like February of 2013? Hasnt been quite a day there i remember to match that, a couple close, but nothing that good that i can remember in 5 years. Sking 200 dogshit runs in PA doesnt come close to the big smile i have on my face in one day out west. Skiing 1,021 runs at Camelback in a season, might not be something i personnaly would be super proud of. And i dont do stats, because all it will prove, is i ski in PA too much.

  10. That sentiment hit me hard this season. I started it wanting to do a ton of things. Finished by not doing all of them but feeling really good about the season in general. I kinda want to stick to the whole quality over quantity thing moving forward.

  12. Day 2 of my 3 day AIARE 1 course. Yesterday we spent mostly in class, but did a short tour of hidden valley. Not gonna log it in my stats because it was mostly off skis. Today was much more fun! Went on a ski tour starting at Bear Lake. Our destination was dream lake. It is a very scenic area, I have hiked it in both summer and winter. The winter trail is quite steep on skins and that is wheat we took. Our guide gave me a great tip of looking up (not down at skis) so you put more weight on your heels. Just doing that I was able to not slide backwards which I have done every time I have went out. Dream Lake This section is called Dragon’s tail couloir. I hav seen it referenced it a lot of the face book Bc groups. Guide said it is 50 degree slope. Not something I can see myself ever doing, but cool ot now see where it is. Waiting to drop. Was good to get out of my comfort zone. Steep, sloppy first drop in. Still getting used to my fat skis. Digging pits out test snowpack stability. Had one hiccup that I leaned my poles against my car, put my skis on top rack, opened back door to climb up. Made the mistake of leaving back door open, huge gust of wind came out of nowhere, slammed car door with pole inside. Surprisingly, the pole is fine, my car, not so much. Gonna have to fix that, bummer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  13. Arrived at 845 to sunshine and 40°. Met Root in the lot and we were on the snow at 905. Skied all the trails off Sullivan and then we went over to Stevenson and saw TP4 as we got on the lift. Hit all those trails and came back over for a couple more before I had to leave at 1115. Snow was hard in the shadows to start but softened up to some nice spring snow. Fun morning riding with those two. Now making the turn after a bad front nine and hoping to save the round Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  19. Up at usual O’Dark Thirty, finished packing up car and departed for the first stop, Stratton. Arrived in the lot at 8:15 after an uneventful drive and a stop for gas. Temp was 30, but a howling wind made it feel a lot colder. Booted up and piked it to the base area to find the gondola not running. They claimed it was due to the wind, but we all knew better... Just going out to the 6-pack, the conditions were typical Blue-like. Refrozen melted cord attempted to make better by a skiff of grooming. Up the 6, various runs had glacial ice floes mixed in with the frozen cord. This was gonna be fun! Screamed down to the base to meet up with Slim and other Blue folk who were booting up in the lodge. It was still mid-winter weather and conditions we told them. Up the 6 and down to Ursa. Up Ursa In search of something softer than the bulletproof, wind-blown, filling-rattling crap we’ve been on. Decided to start from Bear Down, which was almost skiable, and work our way around. For some unknown reason, many of the trails were roped off, but had plenty of snow/coverage which was ticking us off. As expected, everything else was the same. There were some bumps under the gondola but were concrete and not fun at all. After lunch we were hoping the sun would help soften things up, but it just wasn’t strong enough to overcome the cold and wind. Some decided to take a foray into the Diamond in the Rough woods and found them to be pretty “skiable”, so we thought Moon Dance Woods would be similar, Not! Being more shaded, they were hard and slick, bailed. Some of the closed runs kept calling out to us to be skied, so we obliged. The snow was excellent and had to do it again later. It wasn’t the greatest conditions, but we had fun anyway.

  20. It is what it is. I live in PA. Feel lucky to have many skiing options within 20 minutes to an hour from my house. Blue is home I've had so many days / nights there this past season where I left feeling good. The day at Elk was awesome. Counting days is one thing. Counting those good days is what's important, whether in PA or otherwise

  21. I quit early when it gets crowded or conditions get shitty or I’m bored or would rather drink beer or take a nap or go to work. When I’m debooting at Blue often before 10am on weekends people just arriving give me weird looks...well you know what I give those fucktards weird looks as well cause it’s gonna take them double as long to ski lower quality runs...and when they return to their car for their peanut butter and fluff sandwiches and bud light limes I’ll probably still be in the lot..haters gonna hate hate hate.

  22. Doesn’t look likely..unless there’s a major Nor’easter..I wore my fleece to work today without looking at the temperature. It’s supposed to be 78 degrees today..that’s what is know on the streets as a Herman shaker.

  26. I highly doubt that would be a record. Maybe a "logged record" on here though. I can pretty much guarantee that JF Dan, Ridge, and I have all topped that skiing an avg of 6 hours at Frost each weekend years ago. It's really easy to rack up runs there and boulder.....lol There was a time when I thought you could equal the amount of time skiing vs waiting in line at Jf to Blue (and you can but only at blues busiest hours) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  34. Day 2 - Sugarbush Made the drive up from Killington, but didn’t have to leave early since they didn’t open until 10am. Pulled into the lot to 30 degrees and 0 wind and just a whisp of clouds. Should be a far better day than yesterday, weather-wise. Took the Bravo quad up and made our 1st run down Murphy’s Glade which was mostly frozen cord with some glacial ice spots mixed in for fun, as they’d catch you by surprise, lurking beneath a thin layer of scraped off cord. Then down Lower Jester, which has a little better conditions. Looks like it was gonna be another day of searching for good snow. Rode up Heaven’s Gate and down Sigi’s which had some nice groomed snow up top but got progressively worse as we went down thru Lower. Still it was very fast and edgeable. Before braking for lunch, we decided to try the other side of the mountain, hoping the sun had softened the snow up over there. Took a ride up Gate House and found the snow to be a lot better than anything we were on earlier, so planned on coming back here after lunch. After a liquid lunch, we headed back to Gate House area and with our newly acquired courage, we decided to give an ugly looking Sunrise a whirl. Lots of bare spots, rocks and debris littered the run, but we had a good old time picking our way down. With Sunrise under our belt, we tried our had at Morningstar, right under the lift. A few rocks, bare spots and bumps made for the run of the day. Later in the day we had the great idea of going up Castlerock. A few brave souls were coming down Lift Line and the scraping sounds they were making turned us off that, so we headed down Castlerock run. Having had enough of those frozen bumps, we headed back for a couple more Sunrise runs and then out to the lot for beers. Later in the evening we headed over to Sushi Yoshi for the pre-mogul party which was more subdued than last year for some reason.

  35. It might be new, I'm not sure. Copper was awesome they had pretty much everything. Nice groomers, open bowls, glades and trees. Highlight of the day was definitely the run off the cat in mostly untouched snow.

  36. Is that heated chair new? I don’t remember riding it last season. It’s cool riding the surface lifts and the old double in the back bowls at Copper. I’ve had a lot of fun at Copper mountain...I have 9 days total there. I’ve had a few fun boozy days on the mountain where I’ve stopped for drinks at one of the two mid mountain BBQs..very relaxing low key mountain and like you said huge. Still some runs I haven’t skied there. Here’s pictures from a spring day and a pow day last year at copper.

  40. There are people at work here that take off work every year on their birthday. I dont get it. I will be the first to line up for some birthday cake, but its just another day. Typically my family will get together to have dinner for someones birthday, but hardly ever on the actual day. sometimes 3 weeks later.

  43. Nice day. They moved the terrain park, last time I was there I think it was where the bump run is now. We even tailgated for awhile, went back out and skied again and tailgated some more. No grill, but lots of food and some beer.
