@brm05 pay attention to this guy, and then buddy up to indiggio, and mbike....those are the 2 guys more so into bumps that i can think of off hand. Since bumps arent my bag, i'm not much help with your selection of skis for Blue, other than to tell you this.....i would lean towards a ski that gets decent marks for crud. I think this is what Jlaw is eluding to when he says it might not be doing you any favors. @brm05, you should buy ladies skis before considering these.5 points

p30 is a nicer old school carving ski but my guess it aint doing you no favors. How tall are you ? How much do you weight roughly ? What do you like about those skis ? What do you not like ? What do you want a new pair of skis to make easier ? Can you carve the ski ? If so what kind of radius do you like ? I have some skis, if you want to try some stuff out. If you want a pair of twins I have at least 4 pair you can straight up have. I have a pair of stockli stormriders too with bindings I've been trying to give away since last year that you could totally have. Do you know what size boot you are ?4 points

@mute1080 do you know if Ryan will be there tomorrow? He usually has good beer. I'd hold off on getting any if he is going.3 points

You're already starting with a new member @GrilledSteezeSandwich? Ignore him @brm05 or at least take his comments with a grain of salt. They don't appreciate tailgating in the upper lot, but the valley lot is for all the misfits and there they don't really care.3 points

Dont tune them up on my account. They are, at this point, "community skis." The shreditors were a huge step up from the tiny noodle you started off with, but not a huge stiff Blue crud buster. I doubt we would get your big ass foot in my enforcers, but i think you might like them. You can demo from Blues shop, and i think they have a "try all you want all day" policy. If you think you might do that, go see what they have first, research, then ski. im a fan of the Line stuff as well, and i think some stuff in the Blizzard line up might suit you well. If you want something better than the shredditors in crud, i think you want to make sure it has camber, and i guess stiff in the front like Toast likes.2 points

Should be there for rope drop. May need to bail early but probably not the worst thing in the world given that the lines will have grown exponentially by then.2 points

I can support the decision for Sick Days. I enjoy mine for almost all conditions.2 points

Keep in mind, conditions will be awesome tomorrow. for about 4 minutes. After those 4 minutes are the conditions you will most likely experience the most of at Blue.2 points

Where the hell was i, and who was i with when some dude had beer just running out of his backpack? Sucks for him, but that was funny.2 points

Yup, he’s coming and he’s stoked. I don’t know if he still drinks beer though, I think he’s hooked on the Claws. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Yeah the lot spacing down there makes it easier. Opening weekend with just the top lodge open is going to bring out all of the celebrations so hopefully they are expecting it again. For how crappy the run a lot of stuff it is surprising that they haven't made a bigger deal about lot festivities.2 points

Welcome brm05. I'll echo GSS and let the gear peeps guide you since a gear person I am not. I like how my skis ski so I stick to a certain width, length, brand etc. Funny thing is that the people here will probably put you on something suited for Europe better than the people in you European ski forum would. You came to the right place.2 points

i'll be there sat AM. what's the parking lot like there in the morning? tailgating encouraged? my first year going. thanks.2 points

Or the guy who attempts to throw empty beer cans from said backpack into the giant garbage can under the lift, but misses adding to the already existing garbage. Side note. My hope for Blue for the 2019-2020 season is that the eyesore giant under the lift trashcan next to sidewinder is eliminated, replaced by a no tolerance litter policy. Tired of people thrashing up the place. Won't happen but I can dream.1 point

no, maybe you think i'm fuckin around but that ticket is from JFBB last year (mar 1). I could take a close up but i don't care enough to bring it back out.1 point

Thanks, I"m blushing. A lot of the reason I'm up that high is that I don't have a table to eat at anymore so it's a lot of fast food on the go......1 point

If you want to go with a twin tip, I'm a huge fan of the Line Chronics. They are such a great PA ski, in my opinion. If you want to do any park dabbling, I think it makes the most sense to get something that can do it all, and they can handle pretty much everything you throw at it. Still a freestyle-focused ski, but great as an all-mountain ripper, even good in the trees. Very fun, lively, durable, affordable, and playful ski with a medium-stiff flex. I picked up last season's model for $300 a few months ago. Not limp dick noodles, but not skin suit stiff either. Would definitely be a good option if you want something that can dabble in the park, but still be well-mannered on groomers. Call me a snob (or anti snob?), but I feel like if you have any desire to ski park, it's unnecessary to have 2 pairs of skis for PA when a twin tip with an all-mountain bias can handle the job. If you want something for more gnarly terrain and trips that involve no park skiing, get a second pair to keep around for that purpose. I also prefer a more playful ski for groomers, love launching side booters and goofing off, so that definitely plays a role into my opinion. I will rock chronics exclusively until I'm dead or in dick deep powder (of which I then break out the bacons).1 point

I only had a pair of TTs for when I was teaching my son to ski, so that I could monitor him. Once he learned to ski, I got regular downhill skies and don't even use the TTs anymore and they're shot. Most of the bumper have two sets, regular downhill and a pair of mogul skis specifically for the bumps. @tarponhead and I think @zzslope swear by Blizzards, as I think those have been getting pretty good accolades for all mountain skis lately. They probably have some opinions on them as well.1 point

Is there a reason you're hung up on twin-tips? You state that you're not into park or big jumps, not that Blue has any anymore, so that would indicate that you're not going to be skiing switch very much, if at all. You also say you're looking for length, speed, aggressive, which with twin-tips, you're loosing length and TTs tend not to be meant for speed or aggressive skiing, they tend to be more noodles than planks. Also, depending on what terrain you're going to skin, TTs can be more of a hindrance than a help. The turned up tails in the bumps causes all sorts of headaches, ask me how I know. Skiing TTs with friends makes you an annoyance, mainly because of the rooster-tail of ice, snow, etc. they throw up behind you, but if that's what you're looking for, go for it. Not trying to dissuade you, but just throwing out some thoughts.1 point

Personally, if I need a beer the longest that it would take me to get it would be a quick high speed lift ride and a bomb down the mountain away to get back to my car so I don't bring too many out on the hill with me.1 point
