Same. Also this day would be within a 2 week window, and require using a “flex” day instead of a vacation day. And getting me to use one of those this early in the year is like how I like my steak — rare.5 points

The quad is 30 years old, the sixer is 25ish. 30 years is generally the limit on detachable chairs. It's like an old car, yes proper maintenance can extend the life but eventually you'd replace so many parts it wouldn't be the same car and would cost more than a new one. I just hope they get it running fast, by 930ish all week there was a solid wait at the quad.2 points

What I was told was the sixer is down becuase of a drive issue. A rep from the manufacturer was there yesterday which makes me think they don't know exactly what's wrong with it. Both those chairs are pretty old2 points

It isn't just the lifts. I'm not a park rat but I have noticed Big Boulder is lagging far behind where they normally are this time of the season in their park build out. They should have features on all their parks, but so far they only have Freedom and a partial build of Tbaum. Hell, they aren't even fully open with only 11/16 trails. That is inexcusable considering how quickly they moved to open historically. It really feels like they're doing the bare minimum. Something is up. This year feels different.1 point

If anyone is looking for touring setups, I have a bunch of stuff I'd part with cheap. 188 ski logik bombsquads skied maybe twice with the native graphic with twice used tyrolia adrenaline 16's. 27.5 technica concise pro light tech fitting boots used once.1 point

Sidewinder is amazing today. Crazy what a day open and an inch of rain will do. They didn't flatten the whales out all the way so it's hilly for the length. Lots of fun.1 point

First day open is almost always rough for a trail. Whether it gets tilled wet or just pushed flat wet, until it’s had a few days to fully dry there are tons of lumps and cookies.1 point

They have had a VIP line at the quad a couple times this year. Didn't mean much, still had to wait the same as everyone else once past the gate. The conditions at blue on everything but sidewinder were very good today. Sidewinder was rock hard with cookies on top, not much fun. Barney's was a little slick in between the bumps but still fun. Skied the sleepy hollow glade the conditions at the bottom of that required your attention. The six of course was down and they were only spinning the main street chair on the little gap side (vista chair too I guess) so the lines there grew quickly. But overall a great day.1 point
