  1. No surprises... the grooming was pretty bad...First run down Sidewinder was just a frozen mess...I think just about everything was bad....Main Street had lots of crumbs on the upper half..lower was a little softer with random push piles....I was on skis (and I suck at skiing) so maybe I'm being a little too critical...Some light snow showers came through when we were enjoying Enjoralas' meats in the lot...Enjoralas,Enjoralas' dad,J Law,Salty,PSUFly,Tarponhead,Indiggio,Benm,TP4,and other who I have seen but never met...One who gave me a Postal bin to put my boots in to keep the car clean...It's fuckin awesome..If you are reading this a big thanks!

  2. February 2nd 2020 Day 5 of 7 Today began warm and windy and it sure felt like groundhogs day as once again me, NMSki, JFBBDan and Atomic Jeff were the first civilian gondola which was MSY mad steezy yo. First run on amphitheater to thunder was nice cord not the best light not the best either. Grand was also alright I’ve had a few worse flat light days and now will admit I waited till somebody got in front of me to use for perspective. Up a windy sublette and also breezy..skied Bivoac was good chalk to R trail repeated that run again then moved over to thunder. Up Thunder and me and NMSki skied below the expert Chutes where Mute and Ryan had skigasms three days ago...wasn’t as good but smooth enough. Went ovet to Casper area via Nez Perce traverse. My feet were bugging me and I split up from the group sat in the woods for a few got a second wind went over to Teton left and also did a run on campground off Casper then stopped near the bottom of apres vous for a safety break and a few minutes later skied to the base then had lots of drink and some food at the mangy moose. JFDan skied a little more and NMSki skied a lot more. Was a fun day and best of all tomorrow is gonna be a powder day.

  5. Hey All, I'm back from another fun session at Blue Mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at 07:45 and parked in Atomic's spot to make him jelly. It was around 28 degrees under partly cloudy sky's. In the house were JohnnyLaw, Enjoralas, Enjoralas's Dad, Enjoralas's Cousin, Enjoralas's delicious meats and shrimp, Tarponhead, Indiggio, TP4, PSUFly, BenM, Mixilplix, and many many others. First run was Challenge which was hard and solid, pretty legit. Then hit up Sidewinder, P-dizzle, and Main Street. Lazy Mile was in pretty damn good shape and later on was like a western groomer. The 6 pack seemed to be running slow again, so I rode the quad which was running at a higher speed. Eventually the race team inundated the quad with lines so went over to the Main Street and Burma lift. Around that time met up with @enjoralas and @pops and we made a few runs on Switchback which was definitely ROTD and in very nice shape, smooth as butter. Then we hit some glades (I skied between 3 trees). Then on Lower Main Street tragedy struck. I crashed into the middle Slow Down orange sign and became Jerry of the day. No one laughed at me too much so I brushed it off, and my legs and RTMs continued to function normally. Tried to put the sign up but my efforts were futile. Parking lot shenanigans were great. The meats and shrimp were outstanding, 10/10. Stayed until around 1 pm. All in all a great day at Blue the True. Some lyfestyle shots below.

  8. Just got back from Camelback, the True Mountain. In the house was @saltyant and a lot of Jerrys. Pulled into the Gaper lot at 1700 hours and stepped into my RTMs to ski to the waterslide lift. Made gnarly runs on Nile Mile, Cliffhanger, and the green trail. Sadly I'm starting to forget the names of the trails since I'm getting old (almost 32) and haven't skied at Camelback enough. Cliffhanger was chock full of ice and giant moguls. All black diamonds were icy AF and my RTMs were making loud scraping sounds. Had some fun conversations on the lift. Talked to some cool older dude with a wolf hat he got in Utah in 1987, and told him his hat is older than myself and @AtomicSkier. When he was younger he biked a loop from Indiana to Yellowstone, so we talked about our road cycling adventures. Also rode the lift with a giant toolbag jabroni who had a backpack full of beers but lost it somewhere, and was drunk as a skunk. We rode up with an Ernst & Young consultant from downtown Manhattan and had an interesting conversation about life. Overall a great night and made a lot of epic runs. I still really like Camelback and maybe will get a season pass there again. JADIP.

  9. Well... I figured, I'd follow salty's footsteps and go to Camelback this Sunday, seeing how the 6-pack at Blue is having troubles... The day started at about 8:10am with a closed CBK Lodge. Nobody's inside, no sign saying when it might be open. There were a few cars near it and a couple of people booting up in the parking lot, but all of them must've been pass-holders, for there was no way for them to get a ticket otherwise. So we got back in our car and drove toward the main lodge. This is our first time at CB this year, so it was the first time we saw what they've done to the lodge entrance. In the past it was possible to go straight from Sullivan express to the doors, but now they've fenced the entrance off creating a large kinda terrace area, and so one has to zigzag toward the terrace entrance first and only then go back to where the lodge entrance is. Very annoying. Hardly surprising that many people prefer to just go through the ski shop instead of doing that stupid detour. The snow varied, but varied between different grades of bad. Some trails with cookies, more with sugar, found literally only two trails that were in good shape. One was a green on the right side, the other one was Raceway. After Alps the contrast in skiability is especially striking. Stevenson express was crowded from the get go. And the worst part is that they didn't care to start any other lifts. Raceway, The Glen, Marc Antony, Cleopatra lifts were all down. That made the entire left side of the mountain pretty much unavailable for skiing due to the bottleneck at Stevenson, which was especially unfortunate since snow on Raceway was better than average. They're still not 100% open. Pharaon is closed, so is Basilisk, even Glen wasn't open. There might be more holes in the middle, we just tried sticking to the right to avoid lines. It was interesting to overhear red jacket's chat about how the new guns are so much better. Well, that might be so, if only they could groom it better. All in all, the day was a disappointment.

  10. We all had a nice supper at Rendezvous bistro. Thanks NMSki for treating and also for the elk jerky earlier!! Jamaican mule, escargot and Salmon steamed in parchment paper. The town is one giant puddle...and it’s supposed to be below zero by Monday night...

  12. This has just been a really crappy winter. Warm, then cold a couple days. I really think Blue is doing a pretty good job considering the variation in temperatures. Everything is open, not many places around here can claim that. Think of it this way, if you can ski ruts, bumps, cookies, sugar, you’re improving your skiing. As far as the 6 pack being a mess, it’s not like they can run to Pep Boys and get the part. Everyone needs to stop whining. Ugh.

  20. Some interesting weather today. It was 32F and sunny on the way to the mountain. Top of Sublette was 40mph wind and probably 10F with 0 visibility. By mid-morning, everything was in complete sun and it was heating up. Spring skiing for sure. It actually made the lower faces quit nice at the expense of it getting ruined for tomorrow. We skied a couple of *beautiful* groomers today, including the completely sunny carpet that was Amphitheater first run. That is my favorite groomer anywhere, and it fucking delivered today. We also had some awesome soft turns in Washackie and on some of the lower shots between Caspar and Teton. @NMSKI also skied Buffalo Bowl which was pretty playful soft spring like snow with minimal mank at the bottom. We even visited Stokeville today.

  22. Had a long tour planned at a new to us location of about 7 miles RT. The wind and the cold just totally beat us down and we only ended up doing 3. Oh and we need some snow out here bad!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. Day 3 of 3 for me today at JHMR. Wish I would have hit the powder jackpot this year but had a great time anyway! Did a nice tour of the mountain from skiers right to left then back right again. Bivouac run was pretty chalky and nice, and most of the north facing steep stuff was pretty good. Split off from JFSkiDan and did Cheyenne gully which was very cool to north hoback which was frozen solid and very exhausting skiing. Wanted to close out the quads and took a final tram lap - rendezvous bowl to Laramie traverse, through some trees under the thunder lift shack to a very nice paintbrush/ toilet bowl then right down to the mangy moose. My third time to Jackson with this crew and a great time as always. Look forward to coming back again. Here’s a nice pic from the cliff where paintbrush spills out into toilet bowl.

  26. Nice report...I had to bail before the sausage Sunday meats were served, but parking lot was fun...Thanks to Johnny Law for the Hidden River beer. Run of the day for me was probably Switchback. I hit Sidewinder last and it seemed to have softened up a bit compared to when I hit it second run this morning.

  27. My guess is there is a transfer case of some sort to run two different speeds. One for when it detaches in the houses and one when it's doing the main haul. When we rode it today and before I don't hear and feel it detach. I believe it's running at the house speed all the time becuase there is something wrong with the transfer case. Those arent the kinda parts just sitting around, never mind that its old or that it was an early gen six pack or that the company that made it is now megred out of existence. I give blue flack about lots of stuff but this time I really think there isnt much they can do. The rep was out, I have no doubts they are trying to get whatever part they need asap but its almost certainly not state side and may even have to be specially made. Last year a big time hill out west, I can't remember specifically but I'm sure Google can had a chair out all season. Camelback ty and all would be in the exact same situation, so would lots of super legit businesses. Those big ass transformers that step power down from powerplants are like on a 5 year wait from Siemens. The little half moon pieces on pivot bindings for awhile you could only get them from calling Rossi in Ogden. I wish the sixer was running full speed too but at a certain point all we can do is be patient.

  28. Nice pics! Sitting in Chicago waiting for my connection at the moment. It was an awesome couple days with a great crew. I went over to the 49er for some free breakfast this morning and then walked around town until I headed to the airport. I hope you boys get some more freshies before you leave!

  30. February 1, 2020 Day 4 of 7. Hey All, I’m back from another fun day at Jackson hole. I was a bit hungover this morning from last nights drinking but the warm weather, sunshine and first gondola made everything alright. In the house were Atomic Jeff, NMSki, JFDan, Bethlehem Bruce and I’m sure a few Hannah’s, Kales, Cody’s and Kais. First run on amphitheater was a dream..best cord ever..Grand was also very good and we took a few pictures. Did a run on Rendevous trail which we usually don’t do..was nice fast cord but the top of sublette was extremely windy and whiteout conditions and closed down later in the day. We went back to Thunder for a few laps on amphitheater then down to the base via Sundance. After five different snow conditions on the way down. Then teewinot to apres vous we skied two fast top to bottom laps off apres vous..top was nice and smooth middle a little more skies off. Then skied over to Casper lift up Casper I got some leftover fresh cord in campground stash park than skeet skirted a few trails over and then down to Teton lift. At the top of teton I split up from the boys..doodled around a little had a safety break on side of trail and then hungout in the deck of the general store then when the boys arrived we had a nice lunch at the Alpenhof. No pow today but pretty solid snow. Now it’s super warm and everything including myself is getting baked. The new snow can’t come fast enough. JADIP
