  1. Yesterday I completely finished and pressure tested the press. Turns out I have about 0.06 “ of deflection at 40psi, it is plenty strong enough. I knew I would be doing the layup first thing this morning so last night I cut all of the fiberglass, carbon, vds tape and top sheet. I laid everything in reverse order with the top sheet on the bottom so it was mindless and I could not mess up the layup order. This was the smartest thing i have done because I was scatter brained thinking the epoxy was going to set faster than i did the layup. I was also very paranoid about the core shifting on the base during pressing or layup so I drilled 1/4” holes thru the core then glues 3/16” dowel today to the base so I could set the core onto the locating dowels and be sure everything was where it belonged. Everything was flamed and cleaned with rubbing alcohol and ready to go in the morning. I didn’t really sleep last night i was so excited so I was up at 530 and started the layup. Next time I need a buddy to mix epoxy and hand it to me, it took me about one hour and 15 minutes to do the whole layup and most of that time was spent mixing epoxy. Everything is in the press now and I put a space heater in the room to add some heat and help the cure. I’ll fine out tonight how it all turned out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  2. Sunday March 22nd is the day. Clear your calendars. Get a babysitter. Put the do not disturb sign on your hotel house door. Whatever it takes to get there. Most importantly, we need champagne, beer, and whatever Walt tells us to buy. Walt - are we doing a pre-ski hot breakfast?

  3. If you’re in a 27.5 boot you’re more than welcome to a few runs on them when I’m at Blue. Popped them out of the press, took a bit of work to free them from the bottom mold but I got it. Bases look messy from all the excess epoxy but that will clean up. Put them in the smallest room in the house with a space heater again to continue setting the epoxy. I’m hoping to have them cut out and finished tomorrow night! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Hey All, I’m back from a fun day at Blue mountain the true mountain. In the house were Johnny Law, Atomic Jeff, JFBBDan, West Chester homeys, Root, BenM, Schifdawg, Toast, justo, Rose, Kyle, TheRealKT, MrsSnowbunski, MBike Mike, Fritz, PSUFly, Salty and many more. First civilian six pack and challenge was a western groomer bordering on a carpet..ended up with five runs today on challenge and all were good and no people that’s a gift. Sidewinder was more firm only skied it once. Lazy mile had fresh manmade was fun for the 3D snow lovers but a bit slow. Paradise was surprisingly bad a good amount of cookies. Upper Main Street was good enough for multiple laps lower was not so good..some rolly Polly and wet new mandmade.. The six pack was down around 910..high tailed it to the quad then to Main Street chair and had a second day and a row of Widowmaker aka Raceway aka Chicola chute..to midway onto Burma and the six was back running again..skied a few more laps probably 3rd longest blue session of the season lol.. The parking lot was on point today with nice weather and more than a dozen PASRs in the house. PSUFlyGuy cooked up breakfast sandwiches with egg cheese and either sausage or pork roll..was snack city and MBike did some grillingas well..nothing will top the GOAT greatest of all time Enjorales for lot grilling but with the great base i’m confident Blue will be open through most of March..so some more fun to come.. Also in the house was Matt Stunt..I talked to him for a few in the parking lot..like Nipples he’s an OG PASR and good to see him at Blue and I’m sure he was grilling up Steeze...JADIP

  5. Good day today, icy in some spots. The new camp stove worked out pretty well, definitely burns hotter than my old Coleman one so I have to get used to that. Glad everyone like the breakfast, not nearly as good as Enjorales, but a good breakfast sandwich after skiing/riding is always good

  6. Had a nice first day in New Mexico. Saw a beautiful sunrise then went for a nice run/hike/scramble and then hit Marble Brewery and La Cumbre. Will head up to Taos Ski Valley in my pimped out rental Suburban tomorrow. Will try not to break any levers in the car like I did in Jackson. View from my moms backyard of sunrise did not suck at all.

  11. Great morning. The lifts are annoying. @PSUFly has a nice grill setup and made some great sammies.

  12. I got a new camp stove yesterday...as long as it works, I"ll try making breakfast sandwiches on it in the lot later. Won't be enjorales quality food, but I'm sure no one will complain

  13. @GrilledSteezeSandwich This is great! Look at those sick RTMs tearing up the champagne powder!

  14. Great report! @PSUFly Those sandwiches were delicious! They were so good that Steeze ate one off his car and meat off the ground. True Blue felt like an anthill after exploring the majestic mountains of Steamboat so I called it quits by 9:30. Hopefully by next weekend I'm stoked to ski at Blue again. In the works is a summer time Malvern meetup.

  15. Wednesday night I glued the sidewalls to the core and then on Thursday I profiled everything. I had a bit of a learning curve and one of the sidewalls pulled away from the core a bit but was easily fixed with more superglue. Next I attached the tip and tail spacers with some superglue and hot glue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. I don’t see why not on the pre-ski breakfast. I’ll make a brisket and creme brûlée, and see what else I can come up with. If anyone comes up with something they want to contribute to the grill, let me know so we don’t double up

  20. Highlight of the night so far.... Asian guy on rentals with think accent really curious about the bra and panty tree. I tried to explain that it's a tradition at a lot of ski areas. He then asked if guys can contribute to the tree. haha.

  29. Hey All, I’m back from a fun morning at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at the lower lot at around 710am and it was in the low to mid 20s under mostly cloudy sky’s with strong winds. In the house were Atomic Jeff, Johnny Law, Mixilplix, C1er, JFDan, Ryan, Mute, MBike Mike, PARidge and many others. The six pack wasnt running until around 930am so it was mainly a quad session. Razors was closed for collegiate racing and nightmare to dreamweaver closed for the freerider Jin squad. First run on challenge nice new chalky manmade on the right side..large icy spot after the first headwall still very nice and I skied a repeat on that. Then Main Street for more fresh manmade Perder..sidewinder was a bit more firm as no snow was blown but decent grooming..some root rollers to contend with. Quad line was getting long with no six pack running so went over to the Main Street chair and skied widowmaker to midway which was very nice..perhaps my first widowmaker from the top this season. Back to the quad still a long line and skied challenge again still pretty good then another sidewinder and the six pack opened with virtually erases liftlines..I skied Main Street again for the fourth time or so then hungout in the parking lot till about 1145am..was chilly and a few flurries. All in all better than expected conditions and guess what boys and girls..tomorrow will be even nicer...JADIP thanks Johnny Law for the glitter parts Levante Pineapple pretty dank beer.

  31. "The deft, effortless weaving through dense clusters of evergreen suggests that the skier behind this remarkable recording is a limber, agile man with unquestionable experience and exposure to the slopes. Having spent many a winter slithering through the ridges of the Anthracite Uplands and masterfully descending the steep gradients of the imposing Pocono Region, this "Son of the Mountains" had enhanced his performance to the next level, amassing the strength and stamina to endure the rigors of even greater elevations. Mount Werner's rugged summit beckoned, and this man unequivocally answered their challenge with relative ease." - Quote from my bro from high school after watching the epic video

  32. Today was nice. Tomorrow will be better with some of the freshly blown snow groomed in, warmer temps, less wind, and the return of the @saltyant who can regale us with tales of perder at Steamboat.

  34. Fun day but skied shorter than I would have liked because the lift situation is crap. Lines at the quad got silly just before the 6 pack started to run around 9:45 or so. Snow on challenge and main were nice first thing. Switchback sucked. Patrol dropped the rope on widow maker but beacon, shovel and a buddy were required. Overall a fun day. Oh and I got whistled at on Burma. At first I thought it was because they thought I was hot and were hitting on me but it turns out I was just skiing too fast.

  35. Day 3 I woke to it snowing very heavy and after a 30 minutes search for my car key i was off to Wildcat ski area. With 100mph winds and 14 inches forecasted for Washington i knew i needed another option. Never been to wildcat before and it’s always been a back up plan for my tuxs trips. First few runs were good although i was absolutely clueless where the goods were at first but hey that’s the adventure of it. Conditions were great... wasn’t powder just sitting on ice like we normally get on the east. I’d say 8-10 inches in depth. Eventually after following my nose i found some hidden gems in the trees that were completely untracked. Sadly had to head home. Feels so wrong. I could spend a long long time wondering and exploring those mountains.

  37. Day 2 After a great nights rest I woke to a light rain. Figured today I’d explore King Ravine. Which is in the northern presidentials off of Mt. Adams. Never have been there before or anywhere in the section of the mountain range. Started the tour in a light rain climbing through maple forest which eventually switched to pine forest. First 2.5 miles was super easy skinning with the same mellow pitch. The last 0.8 miles to base of the Great Gully was much to be desired. Not only was i now breaking trail, it got incredible steep, excessive over growth and sections of car sized rocks with holes that seemed like they dropped into oblivion. Eventually i made to the base of the great gully which is the pinnacle of king. Clouds were rolling in and out... I already knew I wasn’t going to ski the line top to bottom from what i read about it. This was a personal recon mission to grab beta on the zone. Climbed up to just shy of the first ice bulges. Looked to be 3 serious ice bulges In steepest section of the gully. While i think i could i have climbed through them without issue, but doing that then skiing it would top 3 my list of stupidest things I’ve ever done. The total line is way bigger then anything in tuxs, steeper and definitely more committing. King Ravine hasn’t seen the last of me. Thank @Justo8484 for the advice on the handgun.

  38. Decided to check out the Gulf of Slides today. This was my first time to this zone so this was more an exploration. GoS trail was much steeper in many spots then then the tuxs trail. It was a very sweaty skin from start to finish with no wind even above the treeline. Skied the main gully in slightly less then favorable conditions. Did not warrant multiple laps. Over all great day out in the mountains... always so humbling.

  39. I’ll be there a little after 8. Bottom of the 6er if I don’t see you guys in the lot edit: my drunken self yesterday thought it was an 8:30 opening and not 8am and set an alarm too late to make it there early
