We out here on this bluebird day 🙌☀️

Wow. What a day. 25cm fell overnight. Some of it was pretty freakin heavy depending on the elevation, but the sun was shining, it was over 0C, and there wasn’t any wind. We skied everything from powder, to wind slap, to insanely sun baked snow. I typed up a long report, but I lost it. You can just enjoy the photos.

Fucking stellar day. My god. This place is fucking heaven. And massive.

Its in the middle of a neighborhood. There are houses right across the street. Very interesting. snow has moved in. Loaded baked potato lunch and back out for some more. No cell service on the mountain.

Travel day. uneventful flights. Gunnison airport is a lot like Jackson Hole, tiny little airport with like 2 gates. Barb met me at the airport for a quick ride to her place at Crested Butte. Went for a nice walk around town, which is a really cool place. looks like some periodic snow in the forecast, with some warmer temps mixed in. Might be some decent snowfall for Friday night. This is what you get when you stay with Barb. I forget what this is called, but it was awesome. Ba Dom arrives tomorrow, Barb and I will be at the mountain tomorrow for opening. Cant wait to check this place out.

A little socked in today. Moving around to find some good light. Snow is really nice.

Today was great. Plenty of sun and we got to check out a lot more of this place. It’s so big we barely put a dent in covering it all. We covered 30+ miles today. I’ve never seen anything like this. My 17 year old traveling cap got to see another country too (#13), and end the day with more fondue. Tomorrow we’re heading to Zermatt for the day. Should be cool to check out the Matterhorn and surrounding areas!

Done with day 1. Great skiing again with Barb. Visibilty was an issue for most of the day. 1st thing it was better up top, then the clouds moved up, went a little lower, was better still a little flat. Right as we went in for lunch it started snowing. After lunch it was sunny for a bit then got socked in again. So lots of different weather conditions today. Snow was really good all day, just got a touch sticky towards the end. Majority of the snow in the trees i went to play in was decent, but i did find some stuff that had been softened and refrozen. Doubtful we will see much sun this trip, some snow tonight and tomorrow am, and it looks like possibly some significant snow friday night into saturday. barb and i left about 3, Dom is getting a few runs in to close.

4 episodes of friends later and I just arrived from layover in Dallas. Gonna see if I can pull off some skiing this afternoon.

Also...today is my 1000th ski day since the start of PASR!

Somebody who buys a triple ticket should not be entitled to lower season pass prices than returning or new season passholders.

Yeah so I called again and they said it was sent by mistake and they're trying to decide whether they should honor the $ 399 price. They were in a meeting to figure out how to handle this and are supposed to call me back once they make a decision. I doubt they will so I'll call again tomorrow

PHL is a literal ghost town. I've never seen a major airport this quiet. Walked right up to TSA...no line whatsoever. Kicking myself because I could've slept in another hour!

Picked up the first rack of ribs tonight. A pork tenderloin. A pork shoulder for pulled pork. Three pounds of bacon. Four pounds of shrimp. I know, but it’s a start . . .

my take on this is, they were sending this deal to people that bought a triple ticket for 19/20, but instead sent them to everyone by accident. Does the confusion with all of this really come as any surprise to anyone?

Never made it Blue Marsh, but I remember passing as we went to our childhood cabin... Amazing how many little hills used to be around. ...Not to de-rail the thread but to lost(not really ever found) ski resort was the resort that was planned near Tunkhannock, but never came to fruition. Short but fun travel day session for me. Being the jackass that I am I ended up, first run, on a double black "extreme" run called forest. Probably not the best choice for run number one but skied it semi ok...Pics below. Did a few more off the silver queen chair...more tame stuff, until close. I can't wait until tomorrow to ski the full day. This place is awesome.

Nice morning skiing again today. Started off with frozen cord at 9 o’clock at about 30°, left around noon time at 43° and the top was just getting soft but the slopes were still in great shape. Really quiet, just a few dozen people out.

In my short tenure there, yes. Its just awesome when their marketing department can add to weirdness that goes on there.

never, never, never check your boots. skis and poles are easily replaced (or rented). well-fit boots, not so much, lol.

I too was skeptical that they'd give me the deal, which is why I called right away. Girl with whom I spoke said "well, you got the e-mail, so you qualify", so I told her to go ahead and do it. I got the receipt to show them if my pass doesn't work and plan to bring a copy to show them in the event my pass stops working, well, it hardly every works now, but that's besides the point.

This is a major bummer...that would've been a legit area.

skis are 1 bag. sometimes you will hear skis and boots are 1 bag, but please dont check your boots. carry them on.
