  2. Well, the 6 days of skiing turned into 4 days of skiing. The first day offered plenty of sun, days two and three were filled with deep snow and good turns, and the final day was sun filled and full of miles upon miles of exploration. It was an incredible experience to ski in the Alps and travel through Switzerland by train. The ease of travel was mind-blowing compared the infrastructure here in the states. The mountains were incredible, the skiing was fantastic, the breads, cheeses, and meats were delicious, and I don't think I've ever drank so much wine during après festivities. Having a guide rip around and show us the mountains and stashes was worth it and definitely a confidence booster. Despite the abrupt end to the trip, it was still a fantastic experience. I'm glad that I got to share the experience with @KevinThomas and @AtomicSkier Some of these photos were posted before, but these are some of my favorite memories: Old-school tin can gondola: Roller road crossing: Lunch in Tortin: Powder turns: Sunny exploration of Lac des Voux, Combatseline, and Six Blanc: 500m surface lift to the top of Greppon Blanc Mountaintop lunch above Thyon: Top of Mont-Fort: Après and Cheese Cave: Hope you all enjoyed the reports and photos over the last week. What a great end to the season. Thanks for following along!

  3. Back in Jackson 2020 Part Deux ... So not a lot to write about past few days. I was hearing people were death sliding down Rendevous Bowl Sunday cause it was just rock solid. The snow Tuesday was much needed but it was a heavier wet snow. As afternoon went on the hard pack stuff resurfaced. A few tram rides Tues and Wed morning but mostly exploring thunder and sublette looking for stashes Thursday morning was hardpack but not unexpected with the 40s most week and teens at night. So working around other side in Casper and Apre Vous lifts. They softened nice with afternoon corn but a few spots exposed to wind were stayed bulletproof all day Took Friday off cause I think it would have been a repeat of Thurs I think. Considered a day at Targhee but just didn’t happen. So ended up with a little trip off the beaten path. Drove up to Teton Pass To check it out .....wow lots of line options up there. Crossed over to Idaho to the town of Victor. Different works over there from Jackson. Early dinner a at place called West Side Yard ... looks like it’s themed on scrap metal. That chair was the most solid and heavy chair ever seen or sat in. Good lager from Teton Brewing. Give it try sometime Curious to see what the lines are like this weekend with the storm forecast and the Corona precautions they just implemented. 🙁

  4. It's a gem of a place. Very high on my list of favorite places. Just made it out too since they're closing tomorrow. Like the Terminator though "I'll be back". Dan, Barb and I are driving to Boulder tonight and flying out of Denver tomorrow.

  5. Another very nice day in the books. Some light snow then sun early on. Barb demo'd skis and she ripped in them. After lunch it started snowing pretty hard and a few inches fell on the mountain, at least up top. After lunch at Butte 66 (impossible burger pic below) Barb headed back to the condo and Dan and I hit Forest back to silver queen to Paradise Bowl where Dan found a nice stash...it's like I was skiing with a local. After another run on Paradise we hit international to the base and called it a day. Another open to almost close sesh where we definitely experienced more of the legendary Crested Butte terrain under the Peak and over on the North face. It's definitely as advertised. Suns out now but supposed to snow later. More pics below...

  7. TFTI. Grate stuff!! Razor's Edge was aaahmazing! Smooth like butter, just like my CRJ-700 landing in Flight Simulator last night. I must've made at least a dozen laps on Razor's. Pleasantly surprised today, I bet there's still some fresh cord on X-ing. Grate Middleswarth chips and pretzels in the parking lot, and that scratch on my Sonic from Mrs. Snowbunski's skis will buff right out. Even skied about 5 runs with @eaf and his daughter. I skied for more than 90 minutes today. WTGAI JADIP TFTI Ok.

  9. Day 30 for me. I demoed some skis today as I have definitely outgrown my current pair. They skied well and felt like I needed less effort to ski them fast. I wanted to try another pair after lunch but they were out. Gonna try to see if I can bolt them down in the next 2 days that we have left to ski here. Did a lot of groomers today and hit some of the blacks off Silver Queen but none of the intense stuff the guys did. Was another good ski day. Only took one picture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

First run on challenge was firm, paradise was mini cookies I only skied it once, lazy was a little better, Switchback was dark and had a root roller or two, nightmare to dreamweaver was 3D snow, Switchback was pretty nice last pitch right side $$$$..Razors got better and better I skied somewhere around 12-13 runs by 10am then went to the lot had some chips beer.. The sun continued to beat on the snow and I went back out and first skied lazy the whole mile to the Main Street chair with BenM..skied Widowmaker from the top aka raceway to the chute to lower Main Street to shuttle to lower park. Then up the six pack and skied razors which was now semi spring snow pretty nice and Razorback some nice corn..on homestretch a snowsnake bit me and I had my first fall of the season..full yardsale..GSS intact. Then skied sidewinder which was full on spring, razors again and challenge. Nice second session. Now at work counting money and listening to voicemails..JADIP..ski everybody tomorrow..I need to buy some champagne.

  18. Pretty socked in up top which made our run off north face pretty dicey to start. Got way better as we went down. Snow is still good on this side, but we were told banana, peel, and stuff off the high lift would be baked From yesterdays sun and refrozen.

  19. Great morning so far. Few runs off of Paradise Bowl. Barb then made her way to East River and Dan and I made our way over to tackle the extremely foggy yet extremely awesome north face. Snow wasn't as good as yesterday but not at all bad. Had to navigate around rocks wherever possible. Pic of Dan crushing the north face below. Fog...what fog??

  35. The argument that influenza kills more people every year isn't comparable. The flu is somewhat predictable where strains of the flu can be isolated early enough for vaccines to be modified from year to year for prophylaxis. COVID is a newly discovered virus where there is no vaccination and won't be for a while. It is spread rapidly and people may not even be aware that they are carrying the virus because of the varied symptomatology. People are dying at a rate 10+ times the rate of influenza. It is ignorant to blame "the media" for talking about this when it is literally a worldwide pandemic.

  36. The next area on my list is probably going to be Split Rock. If anyone remembers skiing or riding there, and has any stories or images/resources/links to share, I'd be super grateful and I'll make sure to mention your name.

  38. Kids are germ magnets. I have one too. It seems like this virus does not have quite the same adverse effects as something like the regular seasonal flu might, for whatever reason, but that doesn’t mean they can’t carry it and spread it to other people. If my daughter were in daycare or preschool right now, I would not be sending her. Bring this thread back to ski stoke. More pow, European beer, and wine; less corona! 40. Flat iron. A little rough to get into, real nice snow in the middle, concrete at the bottom with a long up and down traverse to get out. First pick looks flat as fuck, but its not. Dom and i are debating if this was banana or flat iron. Take your pick.

  43. Was a great day today! I remembered that epic keeps your stats so I looked it up and I got 17 runs in, which is much more then I usually do. The legs don’t feel too beat up but my stupid broken foot is talking to me. After some ice it feels better hopefully tomorrow will be ok. Lunch pic for Doug. Obligatory Paradise Bowl shot. 44. Day 2 for me in the books. Damn, what a nice day. Oddly enough, it sounded like today was going to be a wash based on what sounded like rain overnight. Woke up at the house to 2” of pretty dense snow at the house. Snow on the mountain was a lot less dense and made for some terrific runs in paradise bowl first thing, and skied around a bit there and kept getting some nice untracked runs. off to East River lift to play in some trees i found yesterday, which were pretty much untracked. this is when we split off from Barb, before meeting back up for lunch. Went up the North Face lift which is a t-bar. Here you will find some really interesting stuff, you can take many routes, trees, chutes, and some open faces. Snow in the North Face was nice and soft. Make no mistake though, you will find rocks available for a base grind almost anywhere. tomorrows activities will include some stuff off the high lift, i think, depending on what todays sun does to the snow in that area. Looks like the reset button gets pressed sometime tomorrow when the snow rolls in, and should continue into saturday i think. after lunch we ran some groomers over to the umbrella bar, and relaxed in the sun. A quick easy groomer back to the base and right on the bus back to town. no lunch pic Doug, but we are taking Barb out for dinner tonight, so maybe a few snaps latter on tonight.

  45. North Face. Goal of the day for me was to not eat shit on the t-bar. Goal accomplished. Some real nice stuff off north face. Steeps, trees, rocks, and chutes. stopped to see Rambo. Not sure pic does it justice. at least i think that pic is rambo. I had to hold my arm up and over the edge to get the pic.

  47. Short but fun travel day session for me. Being the jackass that I am I ended up, first run, on a double black "extreme" run called forest. Probably not the best choice for run number one but skied it semi ok...Pics below. Did a few more off the silver queen chair...more tame stuff, until close. I can't wait until tomorrow to ski the full day. This place is awesome.

  48. Day 1 of 4 at Taos Ski Valley is in the books. Today was a warm spring day but everything up high over 10,500 or so was still winter conditions. I lost my phone at about 9:15 am, and then I miraculously found it about an hour later. Was skied over for sure and it’s a little fucked up but I was still able to take some pictures. West basin was closed for a free ride comp, but I did 2 Highline Ridge hikes, once to Ninos Heroes and once to Juarez. Rode the Kachina Peak lift twice also and hit the dogleg couloir which was extremely steep, really rocky and hard snow and it scared the shit out of me. Won’t ski that again this week. Next time up was K2 which was amazing. I had to ski off of a pretty huge cornice into the chute but the snow was real good and a sustained steep pitch for about 700 or 800 vertical I would say. skied Al’s on my way to the St Bernard for lunch and some other old favorites after lunch like Castor and North American. Skied for a bit with my wife and mom on groomers as well. Coverage is really good and the groomers are really nice. Should be a great week. I’m on my way to bronze god status also with the bright sunshine. base area and als kachina from the top of the ridge looking up ninos heroes top of K2 looking back up K2 Scenery, etc
