Definitely not a pandemic expert, but based on what is currently happening with trends of confirmed cases and people not taking this seriously enough, I think people need to prepare for the long haul - meaning quite a few more weeks. I'd love to see this end sooner than later, but it takes everybody doing their part to make it happen. Everyone from you and I, to the people who are running this country. People need to seriously stay home. I'd love to get out on the trails and parks and whatnot, but when the place is filled with other people, that isn't social distancing and that isn't going to slow the spread of anything. There have been a scary amount of new cases confirmed over the last few days. I understand that is because of more testing (which is great) but it also means that those people have likely been out exposing other people without knowing it. The curve is going to keep skyrocketing this week. The more people that are impacted by this, the more resources are taken from hospitals. If beds are filled with COVID patients, then there are less resources for people who have had and MI, CVA, falls, accidents, etc. The impact on hospitals goes far beyond the ability to care for COVID patients. My biggest concern right now is the lack of PPE that hospital are already experiencing. If people on the front lines aren't able to protect themselves appropriately and not obtain or spread this virus, then things will get ugly quicker than they already are. Again, this is just my perspective from a provider standpoint. I guess when there is a national medical emergency, though, we really should be looking to hear from experts within the field as opposed to people who say that "we have good disinfectants, you can spray your masks and reuse them" š¤·āāļø We are in a health crisis that caused an economic crisis. If you don't fix the health crisis, there will be no economic recovery. Moral of the story, stay home.5 points

@Schif I would say do not come to Colorado. Every day more and more mountain communities are saying they do not want visitors in their town. Most have tiny medical facilities and do not want them stressed by more COVID cases or by people getting injured hiking/skiing etc. SAR has also said their resources are stretched thin and asking people to just sit tight. I know Summit, Gunnison and now The San Juanās have issued orders about visitors. Hotels are closed as are short term rentals. Red Mountain Pass (RT 550) just issued an order that no one is allowed to drive over it unless you are local. Berthoud and Loveland Pass were complete shit shows last weekend with people parked illegally and way too many people around. Cars were towed. I think soon, those two passes will close to recreation. All local trailheads within a 2 hr drive of Denver are overcrowded. i know this is a total bummer to hear, but honestly, stay put.5 points

My version of gardening from this past weekend. I have a whole bunch of stones as an accent in one of my beds under my Japanese maple. Over the years, mulch had washed down and hidden most of the stones. Digging through mulch to put all the stones in a wheel barrow, clean out the mulch, and put them back, was quite the chore. You can see before/after.3 points

I figured it would also help to relieve the number of people at the grocery stores and leave produce for people that need it...(if things go on that long).....Just signed up for grocery delivery service....2 points

Winter wonderland up here, but it's falling on bare ground. Resort trails still have snow, but obviously it's not being groomed so it can be pretty bulletproof depending on the weather. There's been a push to discourage people from skiing at closed resorts or in the backcountry, the logic being that if you hurt yourself you'll be a drain on medical resources and cause more exposure. Our hospitals and grocery stores are small and wiped out and even Dartmouth-Hitchcock is asking people to sew masks for them because they have no protective supplies. There is definitely a strong current of hostility toward people coming up from out of state to play outside up here. I don't have a dog in that fight, but just be aware that people may not be happy to see you driving around Vermont with Jersey plates and skis in the car these days.2 points

Salty picking up chicks in ski towns is probably the most difficult environment. At least wear a flannel shirt and an oversized flat brim hat that says Hurley or California republic on it...use a clever line like,āI see youāre in a sports bar, do you like sportsā1 point

My office manager has been working from home since early last week. If I had a computer I could as well...I donāt mind coming into work during this..itās like the week between Xmas and New Years when we are closed. I just pay bills, check voicemail, check the mail and smoke weed1 point

My work had a confirmed case Friday...supposedly the office was sanitized over the weekend and they encouraged people to go back to work today. I'm not all that smart, but I would think even with a good cleaning, it's not the best idea to go back to work after only a few days. Working from home all week if I'm allowed. I can pretty much do everything from home except deposit checks...but with other companies working from home, we won't be receiving a lot of checks anyway1 point

My friends wife who is an ICU Physician post this on FB. She never posts unless itās like her kids birthday but sheās been pretty active...sheās terrified right now mainly because people arenāt taking this seriously and they donāt have enough protective gear.1 point

When are you going, in April? That's likely when it will peak, but who knows. I usually don't worry about health but right now I'd be worried about the whole airport experience and even renting a car - who knows if the virus is in the car. Also you might get stuck in CO if there's a nationwide lockdown and all domestic flights are cancelled. If the hype is real I can see that happening in the coming months..1 point

Sounds like he was sick and had a cough and fever and got tested and heās at home right now. Aside from that a friend of a friends whole family has it and they live in the New Rochelle area a grandparent died and 3 other family members test positive for it.
