  1. Well, I'm working on joining the touring crew. Deals have too good to pass up. Picked up some Lange XT Free 130 LVs which are considerably lighter than my RS130s, have a tour mode (more cuff movement), and have tech inserts. Also, picked up Atomic (Salomon) Shift bindings which are a tech pin binding on the way up, and a true alpine toe/heel on the way down. They're going to be mounted on some Kastle FX96HPs in 180cm. It's not the lightest setup in the world, but all 3 pieces are compromises towards increase downhill performance. It will certainly be the lightest ski/binding/boot combo by far in my quiver. I'll get some skins sometime between now and next year. Also need to get them mounted.

  3. That’s why I shop at Trader Joe’s these days. They only allow a few people in the store at a time. Line is 20-30 min but everyone 10’ + apart and my local TJs sells booze to (win!) Be safe all. By the way, I’m completely hammered now ... [emoji1782][emoji89][emoji1783]

  16. Martz bus line has suspended service into Philly and NYC on the 25th. Which is a super good thing as tons of new yorkers commute between the poconos and NYC. Most of the NY commuters live in Monroe County. Amazingly enough, confirmed cases are under 100 still. Carbon county at 2.

  18. I went to Aldi on Wednesday and wore my n95 mask 😷. Most of the people in the store and all of the employees were wearing basic surgical masks. Limit 2 on mostly everything, except pre-packaged deli meats and cheese. Meat case was pretty picked over but managed to get two 3lb+ eye rounds and two chuck roasts.

Go shoppie shoppie. Also keep bleach solution in spray bottle to hit all the amazon boxes before bringing in and also in my car

  26. Sometime when you get really bored google “A pocono country place”. Its a huge development in tobyhanna that was built up, and their target audience was people from NY. over valued homes, mortgage shenanigans for those who really couldnt afford it, and the list goes on. Tons of empty homes there that people just walked away from. Place is a total shithole.

  28. Backcountry rescues should be suspended while stay at home orders are in place. There's no reason why people should be out in the backcountry putting themselves and rescuers in jeopardy. If you're stupid enough to go out, then tough shit if you get yourself into trouble.

  30. The NY Times magazine used to have ads for pocono housing developments that say easy 90 minute commute to NYC. Yeah at 4am...a couple percent of Lehigh valley folks commute daily to the big Apple and a higher percentage on Stroudsburg area peeps.

  37. Thats it. I grew up in that area and I can’t recall ever seeing anyone on it. We got measurable snow in Philly maybe once or twice a year. The lifts were still there. Apparently still going as of a few years ago. https://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/local/skiing-the-slopes-in-conshohocken/74155/
