Cool article about one of my trail running friend's son who is 3d printing masks while being home from high school. https://www.mcall.com/news/local/heroes/mc-nws-coronavirus-salisbury-student-3d-printed-face-masks-20200402-hey4vwzhszfzhasj5gdhgt5bwi-story.html?fbclid=IwAR2IWg8VfgirZ_fH5N9dBUmn1X1HIwGBNS27uY3KDYLrZKh3jUZNa52qRts6 points

Toys. I would say toys are pretty non essential at this point. I would also say mulch and gardening supplies are pretty non essential at this point, and trust me, i would love to go to the depot and get me some mulch, just to keep me entertained for a bit. im actually on board with this. People need to stop going out, except for things that are really essential. If walmart and target, etc would get on board with this, i think it would stop some people from going out. Making the stores less crowded would probably be a relief for their employees at this point. Days can get long being around the house, but im thankful i dont have to go to work and increase exposure. IMO wawa, sheetz and the like should be shut down except for gas. Every day another wawa gets shut down because an employee was tested positive. They shut them down, clean them and then re-open. There is your petri dish right there.4 points

But they are wearing masks and gloves, so its all good! seriously though, the wawa is a germ factory. Just think about what you have to touch just to get inside.3 points

I believe food and friends ("grocery store" that does sell some fresh produce, prepared meals, snacks, etc but mostly beer) is closed at the moment. I have not walked past it to find out, since as much as I'd like to support local stuff, we've been doing online ordering for pretty much everything we need. It would be awesome if our neighborhood grocery store did online ordering, but I'm pleasantly surprised when their credit card readers in the store work properly. Having one of my favorite local breweries (Wissahickon Brewing Co) do free same day delivery has made it pretty easy to not really have to go anywhere or interact with people.2 points

I dont think you are allowed inside. Curbside or window. And to be honest, i wouldnt give 2 fucks if they did close.2 points

Best quote from that article: Moreno has been charged with one count of train wrecking, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. So "Train Wreck" is officially against the law. Some of the threads on this site should be charged.2 points

It takes me an hour and a half to two hours to cut my lawn(that's just cutting it..no trimming)...If you know anything about reel mowers you know that you can" let the grass get too tall or it just sucks to push it...So when the grass is really growing you have to cut the lawn a couple of times a week....and when I come home from work and it's stinkin hot out the last thing I want to do is cut the lawn...The lawn service saves me a lot of time.....2 points

That’s essentially everywhere in travel and tourism. I’m in the process of applying for this with my accountant. It’s a payroll protection program for small businesses up to 500 employees. Businesses receive free money to cover payroll, health insurance and utilities for 2 or 2 and a half months..as long as 75% of it goes to payroll expenses the loan is forgiven. There’s like 330 billion available and it’s gonna get snapped up immediately. Applications begin being accepted tomorrow. My tiny business could receive in the tens of thousands. Worth a try I guess for a couple hours of work for me and accountant gathering everything and the couple hundred he’ll charge me https://www.paychex.com/articles/compliance/payroll-protection-program2 points

Reminds me of the old school blue laws in Ocean City. Half the store was roped off on Sundays, you could buy milk but not sunscreen.2 points

I would have to imagine this Covid-19 thing has put the kibosh on Blues "coming soon" trail opening for 20/21 as well.2 points

Go to a pool store. They got plenty. Oxalic acid brightens it. Pre wet before touching with anything l. Dry 24/48hrs. Seal. I know a guy too....1 point
-
They should close. Every person that comes through is interacting with the person at the window who is coming in contact with everyone working inside and then every other person who comes to that window.1 point

I think the one I have will cut it up to two inches or so.....Another down side is you don't want to cut it when the grass is wet....If you can keep up with regular cuttings you get a great looking lawn...1 point

When I lived in Bethlehem and had a yard the size of my current driveway I used my grandfather's old reel mower and it had adjustable height settings (high, low). I'm surprised newer ones do not have that?1 point

Beer distributer, acme, giant all sell smokes. Truckers can get a quick meal the same exact places you do. BK, wendys, mcdonalds. Truck stops are still open as far as i know. Truckers pulling up to a wawa is 1% of their business, and only half have room for trucks. If i were driving a truck, i would be packing my own lunch anyways.1 point

Unless your leg is over six feet long I wouldn’t advise that. People can’t handle this..they’re seeing friends and neighbors and relatives..at the grocery store the other day where they have yellow lines on the ground so people keep their distance most weren’t observing it and I saw an old guy in front of me lean in to tell cashier something. Everybody is overly sensitive right now.1 point

Also, some people just don't get the stay at home thing unless you need to be out. I had to pick up a few things at the grocery store yesterday (weekly trip for milk and a few other necessary things) and I overheard a guy telling a store employee "Yeah, I've been just coming here every day since I'm bored. I don't really need anything, but it's nice just getting out and walking around and seeing people." I wanted to kick him in the nuts1 point

They've been planning on using the pandemic excuse since they started the trail 5 years ago 😂1 point

Yet the insanity persists. Wearing the same mask all day long, going into multiple patients rooms wearing said mask, cloth masks that don't fit properly and/or made out of wrong material. Where's OSHA when you need it to supposedly protect the healthcare workers?1 point

Jersey trout opening was today. I think they just dumped the entire 6”+ fish into any river/stream from the hatcheries. Only stocking of the year. Can’t wait to see the hero-hillbilly pics of camo-garbed dudes holding up their stringer. Merica and all. (Props to any health care workers)1 point

I haven't talked to my lawn guy yet so I don't know if he is working....I'll have time t cut it until we go back to work(when ever that may be)....Prolly just hire him for part of the season...and save a couple of bucks....1 point

If the snow keeps holding and we get a few refreshers sans rain, we'll be skiing into early May; tuning up the MTB in case that doesn't happen. We haven't gotten an April mega dump in 10 years: April 29/30/2010. Last one I drove to Jay and car camped , skied in knee deep all day and came home. Totally worth it!1 point
