It looks like i will be heading back to work soon, with construction starting back up. I have been doing what i can from home, which really isnt too much, and its a pain in the ass sending emails from my phone, and trying to dig up email contacts. Been working on our guidelines for employees returning to work. This will be an interesting year for sure. I think at this point we are sort of in survival mode, and breaking even this year would be good. My contact with other people at work can be very low, but i do have my concerns about a few people that are in the same office as myself. My plan is to barricade myself in my office as much as possible.9 points

Moar goodness on tap today. Powder in the shade, cream cheez in da sun, 45 degrees, blue sky, Doobies and Double Galaxies in the fanny pack. Didn't work enough quarters for UE, so I'm crushing it trading the volatility, rebuilding my deck, and extremely grateful I didn't pull the trigger on the pizza shop or a bar. I do miss being behind the bar, but not so much lately.5 points

The numbers aren't as simple as most people think. Here's an example: Flu: Out of 10,000 people 20% get the flu and 2% of those people die. 10,000 x 0.2 x 0.02 = 40 dead out of 10,000. Corona: Out of 10,000 people 40% get it and 1.5% of those people die: 10,000 x 0.4 x 0.015 = 60 dead people out of 10,000. That's 20 more dead out of 10,000 or 50% more dead with a lower death rate per case.2 points

Got out and skied today finally! Broke my ski on the first run. Also did some climbing. Yes I am bored. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Heard a dog barking at my front door this morning, which was weird considering my dog was sleeping in the bed next to me. Walked out front to find this guy. No tag or collar but SUPER friendly. Threw a leash on him and checked with nearby houses to see if any were his with no luck. Ended up giving him to the boro PD. Luckily the owner was found less than an hour later.1 point

So our governor outlined new policies that allow things to begin opening 4/27-5/1. Nothing is clear in what he outlined. Now Denver just extended its stay at home order to 5/8. Boulder has not issued any new updates on its website. It is frustrating, really want my freaking haircut.1 point

Snow is thought so far removed from my brain right now. Last year I skied like 6 weeks from now. Hard to comprehend that right now.1 point

Interesting can’t wait to see what Fox News and the Young Turks have to say about it. I watch both sides of the spectrum.1 point

It isn't fishy. Don't turn into a facebook conspiracy theorist. They probably were dying but it wasn't associated with COVID19, just like in California where there are now confirmed deaths before the "official first death" after going back and testing people who have passed. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/04/22/death-coronavirus-first-california/1 point

From NPR Currently, the tests on the market do not need approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and there are dozens of manufacturers making versions that claim to be more than 90% accurate. But the margin of error on false positives in many of the tests is too high for an accurate representation of the number of people who have been infected by the disease. The White House Coronavirus Task Force, which has set an informal standard for the new tests, placed a limit of no more than 10 false positives per hundred. "If you were to use a test that meets that standard, though, in a population where only 1% of the population has been infected, a positive result would actually be wrong a shocking amount of the time — like nine times out of 10," Harris reported1 point

I wouldn't say "way" because the sample size is still too small, but as the tested numbers grow, it may show that the mortality rate drops. It also would indicate that this thing is fucking contagious as hell, which really seems fishy to me. How did all these people get this in such a short period of time and that it was only "discovered" over in a little town in China as being lethal. If all these New Yorkers had got it so early, why weren't they dying of it? Dunno...1 point

NJ dashboard is acting up but data it is displaying (300+ deaths in last day) indicated north of 3k new positives. Jersey will top 100k statewide by tomorrow so still looking flat. That said, the Rutgers test is being deployed big time now. Real game changer as indiggio pointed out. Accuracy is 100%. Totally scalable. They are racing now to deploy statewide with emphasis getting in southern county nursing homes to avoid the devastation seen northern counties. 10k tests a day right now. They said they will help other states but obviously prioritizing local needs first. All in all, this is great news! Go RU!!!!1 point

The woman's working hard and conducting herself with grace yet these idiots make fun of her looks now that's she's out there in the spotlight every day during a pandemic. What's wrong with people?1 point

@AtomicSkier told me last night that the casino in Bethlum is still paying their fees/taxes/whatever to the city even though they aren’t open. Pretty cool that they are still doing that. Apparently the tribe that owns it is big on philanthropy and such.1 point

I"m going into the office every day, but we have temperature checks at the entrances (IT built a pretty cool no-touch rig actually that tracks your temp day by day since you use your ID badge to scan into the system) and they provide a mandatory mask every day. It's actually pretty low contact once I'm in the building though and I rarely get within 20 feet of anyone else. We've also hired two people who's sole job is to go around the entire facility and constantly wipe down any door handles, flat surfaces, or shared things (like copiers) with disinfectant.1 point

While I’ve supported trump a bunch over the past few years, I think he fucked this covid-19 response badly. However, judging from neighbors, co-workers, and Facebook people in the over 50 demographic, a vast majority think he is going a great job fighting the Democrats who are trying to destroy the economy. I really think this virus will help him win reelection. Fox News has been going full retard lately and a lot of older people are eating it up. The police ticketing drive up church services is like the conservative battle cry. Tucker Carlson went nuts on Phil Murphy and the right loved it1 point
