Dog parks opening here tomorrow! Finally some good news! Took my dog to the vet today since he was due for some vaccinations. He has gained 11 lbs since October. I told my husband he needs to stop all the table scraps, Jesus!2 points

This is correct. I’ve been running the calcs every day for shits and giggles, and in Chester county we’re still at like 138. Also bear in mind that it is 50 total per 100k in 14 days. Never. Gonna. Happen.2 points

Look at data that does not need testing or a known numerator. # hospitalizations and deaths are examples. PA should have graphs depicting these surrogate endpoints. Will not give hard numbers you (and every one else wants). Another good trend to follow is the rate of positivity (% of tests positive of Dailey test total) A decrease in trends tells us in what direction we are heading. Again, without the proper testing these surrogate endpoints are all we got. This is what being unprepared for a pandemic looks like. No adequate testing that is (Apologies in advance for boomer pic)2 points

Is it crazy to ask for daily new cases as well as daily tests performed? It's hard to use one as an indicator without the other.2 points

My thirteen-year-old and I got out on the citadel yesterday. This was a big deal for him and was his first true ski-mountaineering adventure.2 points

Of course the numbers will never capture everyone with COVID 19 (specifically asymptomatic people) however it's still disheartening to see a rise in the numbers for a few reasons. First off...even if the numbers represent a subset of people who have it, seeing a decrease within that subset of people is still a positive trend and usually and indicator that things are getting better overall. The other reason is because the powers that be look at these numbers to make determinations about where and when you and I can go when we leave the house. In other words we're locked down until June because of these numbers. So yeah I look at them and become dejected when they go up. Unless, that is, the numbers are complete bullshit, then we have a much larger problem.1 point

What do these numbers really mean? They are only testing a limited number of people. People who have symptoms and first responders are two of the groups. Who else is getting tested? Are those numbers people who are actually sick or do they include people who were tested but are asymptomatic? We know there are people out there who have it, can transmit it, and haven't been tested so what is the real meaning of these numbers?1 point

My yard consists of some grass, clover, dandelions, crabgrass, and kids toys. Also a lot of sawdust now. Most of the yard is green though, which is good enough for me.1 point

I might have to travel to Texas to get a haircut. Senator Ted Cruz just got a fresh cut...and I’m on my way to looking like an 80s Pop Star..The jailed salon owner in Texas ended up raising $500,000 on her gofundme now she’ll be able to feed her children and pay the rent.. I can't look at the numbers anymore. Every time you think it's getting better it just goes back up. So frustrating and sad.0 points
