I'm in North Carolina and it's amazing. There were Colorox Wipes on the shelves this morning. I could start an illegal Colorox Wipes trade across state lines. jk. But. I will be bringing a few home. Businesses aren't boarded up. Got a pedicure for the first time in 3 months. It's a magical place. Life is good.4 points

Yeah that’s actually a huge problem right now. My dad wears hearing aids that work via the microphone in his iPhone (crazy right?) but there’s times when he doesn’t have them in and is out around people in masks and he’s told me how much harder it is to understand people because he can’t read their lips, just faintly hear what they say. In his words “I’ve never said excuse me, can you repeat that louder?” As much in my life, and he’s only deaf in one ear. I can’t imagine what it would be like for someone whose worse off hearing wise.3 points

seriously so different. Very few things out of stock about an hour outside of Raleigh. In Philly, there are billboards and radio commercials about "tough times", "we'll get through this" and thanking employees for their service. The grocery stores have messages about the check out lines and path in the stores. Instead, that language isn't as prominent here. There are still people wearing masks and social distancing practice in stores, takeout, etc. but it's likely because it's not as dense here. And because of it, it doesn't feel nearly as a dystopia environment. Quite a sharp contrast of the boarded up businesses in Philly.2 points

Good old population density and demographics. For as connected we are and we are so tuned into National issues it's kind of easy to forget that we are essentially 50 different countries all tied together under one system. Of course there are similarities across the nation, but it's absolutely insane that we have as many different regions, climates, terrain, people, cultures and resources as we do.2 points

Wow, so the virus only stays within the borders of certain states like PA. 🤣2 points

Sweetness. I like waking up without an alarm. Been coming into work like 10-11am...not having customers in my office sure frees up a lot of time...I just text office manager when I’m on my way in and she stops checking voicemails on office number. She has a new work from home number. Still down about 6-7% on the year so far...1 point

It is nice getting a bike ride in during my one hour lunch break. I have a perfect root that takes 45 to 52 minutes to complete.1 point

I'm cool with people telling me later on it was unnecessary to wear gloves pumping gas, wearing a mask, washing my hands alot, doing curbside pickup, avoiding people when possible, etc. I want to see how this shakes out over the next month or two. I have a lot of family and friends with medical backgrounds, and none of those people have said, "dont worry, this is nothing, go back to what you were doing in January". I dont read or watch too much news either. That can just make your head spin.1 point

I think I dont know what to believe anymore. First the virus is ultra lethal, lives on cardboard and plastic. Bought into it and wore gloves pumping gas. Then it didnt live on surfaces anymore. Now it doesnt transfer much between asymptomatic. Like WTF? I get locking everything down at first since it was new and unknown. Now it's time to move on while protecting the most vulnerable.1 point

The Giant i get my groceries from is always coming up with things out of stock, however it is the worlds smallest Giant. (lol). Mostly frozen vegetables which is disappointing to me.1 point

I had to have an extraction done so I didn’t really have a choice but to go. It was pretty much business as usual as far as precautions go. Call when you arrive, they come out and get you, wear a mask until they’re ready to go, wash your hands before and after, chair was covered in disposable plastic, temp check, dentist and hygienist had plastic face shields and some type of med suit on. It was about as comfortable as they could make it given the times.1 point

in the past, trash (we've since built a big bear box) or birdfeeders (we don't put them up as much now). that was 2 years ago, even then, we may have only had evidence twice, three times. and i agree about the two together. i've never seen more than one. we decided to put up some more suet cakes this year. for the past month and a half there hasn't been a problem. they seemed to just be searching for anything after reviewing the cams. they passed two cakes before they came across another that was much further away. ...it got even more interesting when the dog got out...1 point

At this point it seems "it is what it is". Highly doubt you're going to see this country go into Wuhan style lockdown again. A lot of people are just fed up with the whole thing. The bike shop I go to was told he wasnt allowed to open prior to May 1 despite having very few people in his store. Yet at the same time Walmart was selling out of bikes. Then you see millions of people standing shoulder to shoulder on TV like the virus is nothing, but we weren't allowed to have more than 15 people at my Uncle's funeral (he died from lung cancer).0 points
