The garden is coming in nicely this year with everything started from seed. Lots of lettuce, arugula, romaine, and spinach. Cantaloupe are starting to get a bit bigger. Red potatoes and red/yellow beets are doing great. Tomatoes and green peppers are doing well, and the three blueberry bushes are starting to turn nicely. We have so much lettuce that we have been having salads every day and it still hasn't put a dent in the amount of greens that we still have.4 points

I guess that’s a risk businesses take when they become political, regardless of ideology.3 points

I respectfully disagree that one can still be friends and do business with people that support different political views. I do not support Trump, but I think that a lot of people do for reasons other than racism. I'm willing to try to see the good in everyone, even though I might disagree with their political beliefs. Love and respect to you but I'm sharing the exact ethical dilemma you had and I'm the problem. I'm not loving the "then you are too" in relation to racism and hate. Keep us all posted on how finding a new supplier goes.2 points

A couple weeks ago I was picking up the keys to my camper in the office of the place that I store it and I noticed for the first time that they had all sorts of Trump paraphernalia and one sign that said "stand for the flag, kneel for the cross" or something like that. It made me feel kind of sad because I really like them, but then I have to realize that I can still be friends and do business with people that have totally opposite views that I do. Only thing that would make me stop doing business is if they were actually racist or hateful in some way.2 points

Pence 100% would not have a better chance...if trump drops out a lot of the Trump fan boys won’t vote at all and will be disastrous for republican senators and House members in the election. The Republican Party would hate the scenario of trump dropping out but trump doesn’t give a fuck about the Republican Party..he wants to avoid embarrassment.1 point

So two things jump out... (1) You said Woodys and I think of the gay bar in philly but I doubt that’s where you’re talking about. (2) Perkins is still a restaurant? I haven’t seen one in years.1 point

Smittys Clam Bar FTW. But, they used to pack people in there like crazy before all this, and there was always a line to get in. Nice thing is, its BYOB, so drinking in the parking lot while waiting for your table is not only allowed, its encouraged. The food is wonderful even sober, and its worth the wait. If nothing else, just go get a bowl of the New England to go. Fabulous.1 point

Thank you for saying this. I think it’s crazy these big companies force high school and minimum wage workers to do their dirty work. These grocery stores made bank during the pandemic, they can afford to hire a security guard for mask enforcement1 point

6 feet or not it's all recirculated air inside a bar/restaurant. Not sure why anyone would want to be inside one at this point.1 point

Meanwhile in Florida... Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis told reporters on Tuesday that the state will not reinstate restrictions or close businesses to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus. Why it matters: More than 50% of coronavirus infections in the U.S. are from states like Florida, Texas, California and Arizona, Axios' Marisa Fernandez reports. NIAID director Anthony Fauci warned at a Senate committee hearing earlier on Tuesday that states "skipping over" checkpoints in federal reopening guidelines are contributing to hot spots in states including Florida, Texas and Arizona. Driving the news: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ® urged people to stay home last week to fight the "rampant" spread of COVID-19, as the state paused its reopening. Abbott said in a Friday interview that he regretted how quickly bars were allowed to reopen in the state. What he's saying: When asked by reporters on Tuesday if he would tell people to stay home as Abbott did, DeSantis explained that social distancing has been recommended throughout the state's reopening and that protecting the elderly and vulnerable are the state's priorities. "We're not going back, closing things. I don't think that that's really what's driving it, people going to a business is not what's driving it," DeSantis said. "I think when you see the younger folks, I think a lot of it is more just social interactions, so that's natural." "We're open, we know who we need to protect, most of the folks in those younger demographics, although we want them to be mindful of what's going on, are just simply much much less at risk than the folks who are in those older age groups." https://www.axios.com/florida-coronavirus-desantis-3fe9b6c4-532b-4b2f-bf20-391e586abd2d.html0 points

I don't. Fauci thinks we could see 100k new cases a day if we don't get things under control. https://www.npr.org/2020/06/30/884658409/watch-live-senate-hearing-on-reopening-schools-workplaces-amid-coronavirus?utm_term=nprnews&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=npr&fbclid=IwAR2ySbMUgom_THwbzpPKAKdD2eFtOyJGkuW_0WpgNoig0YsyFPD1X7Sz6bI0 points
