What do you guys think about the silly hoops that they are making you jump through to go for a drink now? Logically it makes sense, discourage people from gathering in bars to sit and watch the game and drink all night. It also has the side effect of having establishments make an extra few bucks on food that might not have otherwise been bought. Is it really going to do anything at this point though? Probably not. People who don't want to go to bars are going to stay home and those that have decided it's worth the risk will just order some fries. I'm getting concerned that we are oddly OK with the governor of a state having the broad authority to implement such ticky tack regulations. Even if they are in this case for the greater good, this is kind of not cool.

I can't believe that we are still having conversations about closing high-risk places and wearing masks while confirmed cases here continue to spike and the EU is pretty much under control - comparatively speaking. Those places aren't learning to live with it, they took care of it when they should have.

I think the move here would be to look at each state vs each European country. I mean at the end of the day there are only 2 more nations on earth with more people than us. If we keep looking at the USA as a monolith you're going to have a bad time. We are 50 unique little countries, some are doing well, some are not. We also have more freedom than most places (though as I said before we are shockingly OK with leaders stepping on that right now) so they can't lock us in our houses and spray us with Lysol cannons if we go out (I'm looking at you China) and we aren't going to cover up data (I see you China and Russia). This thing is here. It sucks. It's not going anywhere. I mean if we all go into hiding the numbers will surely go down. Then we come out and they go up. Lather rinse and repeat.

The coyotes still use that logo as an alternate jersey. The logo looks cool, but the original jersey it was on was absolutely hideous.

It’s crazy how bad Pittsburgh is doing with this. Everyday triple digit numbers in Allegheny county. Yes their population is high but still..this coronavirus really is the honey badger virus. It escapes from all enclosures.

Our governor just passed an emergency law that last call is to be at 10pm starting today. Bar owners are understandably upset and trying to get together and fight it. I have mixed feelings about all of it. I get the mask, social distance thing. But you are right, it just seems like the government keeps passing extra things to “keep us safe.” I agree that Covid is just here to stay and at some point we have to do what we can but live with it. Not everyone can be kept in a bubble forever.

very difficult decision. The 'we need to open the economy' line of thinking is, IMO, faulty. The virus is killing the economy, not the shutdowns. FLA and TX are proving this in real time.

I'm so fucking slow and shitty at DH that there would be a line of people behind me. One of the reason's why I stopped. That, and multiple concussions.

The vaccine doesnt bother me as much as the virus thing does though. The managers assistant in my office scares the shit out of me. He is in the age group that seems to feel impervious to the virus. Made mention of going out to dinner on dates, bars with friends, etc, kinda seems like he just cant lay back for a little and see how this goes, i guess feels like he needs to be the test pilot. He really feels he doesnt need to wear a mask around the office, and he is actually not in an office, just this kind of open area, so there is tons of traffic around him. I figure if he lacks judgement at work, its certainly out the window when he leaves here. Before we got tested on Friday, i heard him say "if i have this thing im gonna be so mad." Fucking schmuck.

So stupid..maybe be like the Washington monuments or an animal not used already perhaps the Gorillas although people would probably think that’s racist as well.

I don’t know her head is buried in the sand. I’m a master debater but aside from showing her a few articles about who can spread the virus I changed the subject. This is the same person who thought this would all be fine after two weeks.
