Thanks, quad drama over at JF turned me on to this place, been lurking for a bit, first time posting3 points

To be fair, Mark was going to minority neighborhoods and protecting minority owned businesses/livelihoods, as opposed to going to a minority job site and calling the cops on them. He also didn’t flee the city as soon as black people started asking for equal rights3 points

VTMark is going to really enjoy “the man” suppressing his voice after this permanent ban.3 points

I've been on the hunt for a chair nearby for a while, would love to get one if BB sold them. If anyone hears something, lemme know. Also, welcome.2 points

I have a prodeal with Flylow so I'll likely buy something when they launch their new gear. https://flylowgear.com/collections/womens-web-specials In the meantime, I've been spending money on fixing up my basement. Before I "fixed it" up, it smelled like the kind of basement that has a college style beer pong table. So far, I knocked down a wall, painted with Drylok, and I'm living that dehumidifier type of basement life. I snagged a squat rack from Rogue, a concept2 rower, built a jump box, and scored some weights from Dick's Sporting Goods and Target. Just trying to avoid the gym for next year or so, but still need to prep for skison 20/212 points

New to the site, but grew up skiing in NEPA 20 years ago (remember split rock’s ski hill?). I’m a transplant from New England who likes to ski with my dog, have been fortunate enough to have Tuckman’s ravine and the like available for us to hike/skin up and him to run down, but am looking to try the same experience in the local area. If we get the snow for it, we will be out in state parks/fire roads/utility access/abandoned tracks and the like earning a few turns. If anyone’s got any suggestions, hopefully this becomes the spot for them. Weather willing, I’ll update our trials and failures here as the temp. dips below freezing.1 point

Back when we used to get snow some of the PASRs (Toast, Justo, GSSucks?) skied the Blue Mountain backcountry. There's a TR somewhere.1 point

There are lifts at BB that havent run in a while, and shouldnt run any longer. They dont need all of the lifts they have there. A friend that works at JF said Vail had plans for multiple new lifts at each resort. Then Covid came knocking, so we shall see.1 point

This right here is why the concept of a one size fits all approach to this is not a grate idea. Also, the real losers at Penn State from no fans at football games are all of the other student athletes. Football supports every other sport at the school. It will be so weird for the players in college football to play in empty stadiums. The cavernous expanses of Beaver Stadium, Michigan Stadium and Ohio Stadium will be almost creepy without fans filling them up.1 point

I'd be shocked if schools are offering ski club this year. Sucks for the ski resorts. I encourage everyone to buy waffles at the Waffle Haus, get your gear tuned at Blue or perhaps buy chicken fings or a burger in the lodge if you can to support the true mountain this season.1 point

I don’t really find that racist at all, look as how many people of Asian decent (pre Covid) wore masks during cold/flu season, sars, swine flue, etc and got nasty looks for it. Personally, I’ve noticed that in my area the Hispanic population has been more willing to comply with the mask thing, but less willing to comply with the social gathering thing, which may be a cultural thing as big gatherings are part of the Hispanic culture. either way, the only people I’ve seen complain about wearing masks were white. And it’s usually a fat white person bitching about having to wear a mask so they can go into Wawa to get theirs 1 liter mt dew and pack of Marlboro reds. They can’t breathe because of the mask, but they can damn sure smoke a pack of cowboy killers a day and that’s not an issue1 point

Who were the nasty texts from? They’re probably the types that call masks,”muzzles”. You did the right thing..it’s people like them that are making this pandemic stretch out longer than it needs to be...1 point

I made some serious enemies yesterday after I was at a construction site and so many subtractors weren't wearing masks (let alone chin straps, nostrils showing, etc), despite being required to. It wasn't even like they had them around their necks ... they weren't anywhere in sight! I reported it to our Environmental Health & Safety office. I got quite a few nasty texts after they figured out who did it and people saying "why don't you just wait until everyone goes home to come?". They're missing the point ... it's not *only* about me being safe, it's about *everyone* being safe. They'll thank me ... eventually ... maybe ... probably not.1 point
