  7. TP4 I respect your opinions but do you think it was smart to threaten to withhold funding for schools that refuse to put kids in harm's way? I can tell you, first hand, that that scared the shit out of concerned families who simply aren't ready to send their kids back to school just yet...he actually made that statement (threat) at the height of the pandemic too which is mind boggling to me. The schools should provide the option for online learning for parents who don't feel comfortable sending their kids back...not be forced to open, putting kids at risk, and leaving parents with no alternative.

  9. Exactly. Even though our pass says unlimited, i am sure we are going to be restricted somewhat. We can get all up in arms about it, or just go ahead and deal with it the best we can. This will be a season like no other. nobody has the playbook for skiing when a pandemic comes to town. I will tell you this. IMO some skiing, is going to be better than no skiing. It will be a loooonnngggg winter for me without strapping some skis to my feet with you fuckers every once and a while.

  10. OK, so what's your argument? That people have politicized this? Of course they have...but you also need to stop doing the same thing you espouse people shouldn't. I'd like to return to a previous statement that you made in rebuttal to @toast21602's unearthing of your early anti-Trump posts. You're basically saying your opinion on Trump's handling of the coronavirus can be purchased by some handouts? You're really helping your middle ground credibility. @GrilledSteezeSandwich isn't the sell out here. I don't care where people aren't wearing masks. Protests, construction sites, Wawa, etc. *Everyone* should be wearing masks when interacting with the public. There is no politics in that.

  11. The problem is the premise on which you'd like to debate is irrational.

  12. No problem at all. It’s just funny I’m trying to have a legit conversation, and Instead of engaging in rational debate, people ignore the questions and resort to name calling. I appreciate people like you and ridge who have the maturity to discuss serious topics

  14. I do agree with you that it probably isn’t the best idea to send kids back to school, and there needs to be some alternative options like e-learning available. I even agree with you that trump was wrong to say that.

  16. Amazing how COVID 19...a worldwide pandemic, became political. Remember when people used to come together during difficult times?

  18. It's astounding to me that there are people who don't or can't understand what "worldwide" pandemic means.

  20. I've made an observation the past few months and I'm astounded how many people have flipped political views over this virus. There's my aunt who was a diehard democrat her entire life. When Trump won she was very vocal about it for months and criticized him. Now she's voting for him because she thinks the virus was designed to destroy him since impeachment didn't work. Now she buys into a lot of conspiracy theories and likes to spread them all over FB. Then there are people who voted for him and stood by him for everything but are no longer supporting him because of how he handled the virus. The protests were also another turning point for some people I know. A guy I know was a diehard republican and you never would have thought he'd vote for a democrat. He voted for Trump and now is so vocal against him it is insane and is voting for Biden. Sometimes I read what these people are posting and I can't help but recall all the stuff they used to say. Crazy times we are in lol.

  22. It’s hard enough getting a tee time this year at a place that sees maybe 1% of the amount of visitors a ski resort would, can imagine what it would be like if you had to reserve tickets. I could see it going two ways, it’ll deter the Jerry’s from going OR it’s going to be impossible to reserve a ticket because everyone and their mother will be trying to get tickets

  24. No way. we are just so over privileged that nobody can tell us we cant go out, fly on a plane, protest, etc. Its our god given rights as Americans to disobey with prejudice.

  25. Agree, i am sure there will be a lot more of these announcements to come. And the reservation thing bugs me as well, i mean, i pretty much know i will ski every Sat and Sun. But what is to prevent people from doing a reservation everyday, but only showing up when they really want to? This would hurt both sides of the party. Theres a lot to work out, but i think its really important that Mtns start putting this out.

  27. I don’t see how anyone can blame trump for anything going on with Covid 1. China unleashed a virus upon the world 2. democrats purposely tanked the economy (could it even be argued they encouraged the early spread of the disease, such as Jim Kenney, AOC, and de Blasio telling people they were racist if they didn’t go out when the disease was spreading?) 3. democrats encouraged nation wide looting and riots, which caused the virus to spread to where we are today as thousands did and continue to riot and spread Covid if people had listened to Trump, they would have practiced social distancing while stimulating the economy with their Trump checks, as opposed to months of chaos spreading the virus.
