That's pretty rad. I haven't seen a cactus like that in the wild. I've been to UT, northern AZ, Monument Valley, and NV. But lots of Joshua Trees.... Joshua Trees everywhere

i read somewhere else recently that Elk didnt know if they were going to open this season or not. I forget exactly how it was phrased, but it was like if they couldnt operate 100%, they werent going to operate at all. Take that as you may, fact or fiction. Its probably true that none of the PA resorts have gotten specific guidelines from the state yet, and are assuming some things based on how some other businesses are operating. I see no reason why with proper guidelines, a ski resort would not be allowed to operate.

A very interesting insight posted on Elk's website in the last day or two, until they get a go ahead from state authorities -- on a reopening plan -- they do not know how skiing will work this season. I'm paraphrasing but the full posting is attached. I find this very interesting in comparison to other Eastern PA ski hills, JF/BB, Blue, etc, all of which would have us believe reopening is full steam ahead, in that they have make public no such insights on state-level approvals of reopening plans or other restrictions. Are we all assuming too much, normal reopenings are a given for 2020/2021 maybe with some social distancing in the mix?

People make fun of me for wearing my favorite cap. I call it my Traveling Cap because it has been everywhere I've traveled. Been to more countries than most people (13). I'm fleeing the crumbling and corrupt city of Philadelphia for the safety and security of Wayne. It should be noted that this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that my lease ended and the suburbs are much closer to work and school. I made the decision based exclusively on the fact that the Mayor was caught eating indoors when he banned indoor eating in the city.

For crowds to be dispersed, the gondola may be necessary, but without the gondola, I think you just have to ski it like before. Rely on the Superchief, Lift 7, and Tomahawk. It’s annoying having to transfer multiple lifts and not be completely high speed, but it is workable. I haven’t been since they installed it, so it could ski differently than before. Have crowds increased since ORDA took over and offered a 3 pass? I haven’t kept up on NY Ski Blog. He usually posts those numbers at the end of the year. Here’s those numbers.
