Remember in the beginning of the pandemic when people were patronizing local restaurants and shops and spending more money than they ordinarily would have for food or dropping big tips for haircuts or other services? Just use that logic with Blue and be happy that you're still getting the best deal in the state or a season pass.6 points

Or, and hear me out here, regardless of who is in the White House it will not go away for years and years anyway. It's not like there is any country in the world, besides the small ones who completely shut down borders and did not have a ton of travel in and out anyway are doing much better. Is it still spreading? Of course it is and it will never stop spreading unless we shut down, which is wildly unpopular and also irresponsible. Is it killing people? Yes of course it is and it will continue to do so but there is no doubt that the deaths have slowed and will never get to zero. OK so the US has a large number dead in proportion to other countries. We also have a much greater proportion of unhealthy people compared to the rest of the world. Everyone wants this black and white "Leadership" from someone on this. What are you looking for? A president that somehow has more power than anyone before him? The complex cogs and gears of society to somehow perfectly line up so we can ram a solution through it? No one to need money for a few years so we can push pause on capitalism? I'm getting really tired of people yelling at the clouds for raining. We need to figure out how to put our raincoats on and keep on living because this weather isn't going to change for a long time.4 points

Being agile is key for any business, especially during a pandemic. Moves like this, even if they are just rumors and don't come true, mean that Blue is looking to do what is best for them in the short and long terms and what is good for Blue is ultimately good for us. Plus it's Sausage Sunday, not Sausage Wednesday Night.4 points

Unless I'm mistaken this is just a rumor right? Businesses discuss all kinds of things that have no realistic expectation to ever come to fruition but to plan for potentials that are in this time increasingly off the reservation. No night skiing would open a pretty big can of worms for them, refund for pass holders that want to bounce is nice but my guess is they also already spent that money. I'd think a hybrid approach or do it like spring with no services would be the best compromise. Truthfully though nobody knows fuck all, I've bought two bikes for my daughter over the last two months and I had to go to MD and way out PA because most inventory is back ordered to March. Skiing isn't as easy to get into as biking but they could get quite a boost with pretty much nothing else going on and as far as activities go skiing is pretty rona safe by default.3 points

Seriously. The only big and friendly book that I can think of are maybe like a vintage OG playboy...the Marilyn Monroe version, or maybe the Madonna issue from the early 80s.3 points

It's a fucking pandemic. Concessions will likely need to be made. Shit we're lucky if we ski at all. Not to mention the fact that if school groups bail... they'll likely lose a shit ton of money by staying open...would you rather your home mountain go belly up because you need to beat traffic? When will people realize this isn't a normal year? If they do close midweek (BIG IF) it won't be because they're trying to get one over on us.. it'll be because they're trying to stay afloat.3 points

It would be super cool if they would just listen to scientists, wear masks, and not spread conspiracy theories. Ya know, simple things. Agreed, not one person is going to solve it, but leadership can definitely have an impact.2 points

Stop. its only a few that need talked off the ledge, but it was almost a good way to thin the herd. Rumor or not, this could very well happen, so lets just call it a discussion.2 points

I used to get Entertainment books. They were about $30 and had hundreds of coupons..mostly buy one entree get one entree free at restaurants or 50% off.2 points

Well, really the pass is for unlimited skiing. And i interpret unlimited skiing to mean when they are open. Theres no Covid handbook for anyone to follow, this is new to everybody. i am sure they can dig into their data and see what small population of passholders just ski at night. i do get that there may be a small percentage, and i think its a really small number, of people that just ski at night, or ski 75% of the time at night. The season pass is so ridiculously cheap, i dont see a reason for a partial refund. I am so fucking tired of hearing people complain about a mountain owing them money because they couldnt ski on this day or that, or "only bought the pass to ski after March 15th"...lol, or i might have to make a reservation.....fuck, just hang it up if you arent willing to roll with some changes. This is an expensive sport. If someone feels they are entitled to a $50 refund on a $400 pass, they probably need to rethink their financial situation in regards to the hobby/sport. I do believe they should lay out their operational plan before the start of the season, (which i am sure they will) and if it does include less/no night skiing then they should offer a refund for those that would like to opt out of a season pass. If it were my little mountain, i would have shut down season pass sales by now, and gone for the more profitable day ticket sales to get them up to max capacity for the day, what ever that number might be. If i had to make a bold prediction, and they did in fact keep the lights off during the week, and didnt offer a partial refund, nobody here would opt out of the pass. Not even the other big talking complainer.2 points

While it is good news that he has "recovered" and will leave the hospital, it is incredibly irresponsible for him (even for him) to tweet out that people shouldn't be afraid of it and that it shouldn't dominate your life. We are in the middle of a global fucking pandemic. There are still 40k cases a day. Hundreds of people are dying each day. 210,000+ have already died. We can't travel outside of the country, we can barely eat safely in restaurants, schools aren't safely opening, 1/4 of the country thinks that wearing a mask is StOmPiNg On My RiGhTs, there is still no national strategy to combat the disease or even test, we are months away from even seeing a vaccine (that 1/2 the country doesn't even want), there is a COVID cesspool in the Whitehouse, we are all bitching here about ski area restrictions, and it has been over 7 months since they have known about this. Glad he is fine for now, but FUCK man actually be a leader about this or it is never going away.1 point

Great news, our fearless and courageous leader returns to the White House tonight! While hate filled bigots wished upon his downfall, he beat the virus like Rocky and is coming back stronger than ever! Time to put Amy Coney Barrett on the Supreme Court! IF this is true... i think the only logical thing to do is offer refunds if someone wants to back out of their season pass because of the reduced hours. it's a fair argument that a lot of people bought their season passes expecting to ski nights and now that might not be an option. i don't think it calls for partial refunds or anything like that if people are given the opportunity to bail without penalty. don't like it, go elsewhere.1 point

Contains 47 coupons redeemable for lift tickets rentals and lessons. Not sure but something like 2 coupons for night skiing, 3 for midweek day, 4 for weekend/holiday lift tickets.. Last year's price $575 for adult book.1 point

Dude, it’s not just some random day or night we’re talking about here, it’s ALL weekday nights. Like Salty said, it amounts to half or more of skiing for some. It is a big blow, no matter how much you’re trying to show otherwise. And why? Not because of weather, broken lifts, but because of school buses, sheesh. IIRC the lifts were spinning when the crowds were extremely thin during spring time, no problem. No buses? Suck it up and stay open for at least three nights besides the weekend. I know of places that got hit hard in Apr-Jun, didn’t open at all until July and they carried over passes to the next year. So yeah, if lifts are not spinning at night, I sure expect something back.1 point

This is extremely bad, the lack of night skiing. Driving in the weekday mornings is a nightmare due to traffic, way too much time wasted, and is a bigger pain taking time off. IDK how they can even consider it without giving partial refunds on the season passes.1 point

No sense getting worked up over any of this. Make the most of what the season will be this year.1 point

Do it. Im sure you will be able to get your money back from blue right now. It would be wise to do this now, rather than just be complaining about it over and over again during the season.1 point

So I got a little intel today that I wanted to share with my PASR fam. First off for the JFBB folks here ... expect the Race Team to be on lehigh exclusively. Also expect the Race Team to be outside tailgating as opposed to inside the lodge. Tailgating May actually be encouraged. At BB...Vail is apparently looking to bring families back...so supposedly they're scaling back the park scene... There should be 2 parks max from what I heard. That's a big change for them. At Blue...The idea of no night skiing Monday through Friday has been seriously considered due to expected lack of school groups...My source wasnt sure where they landed however. sounded like a very strong possibility. Mostly everything else is expected to be the same at blue the true.1 point

Well, that is a welcome change, why talk about it? Now, if they decided to convert one of the mountain to skiers only, and the other to boarders only, that would be interesting.0 points

Fully half of Matt edge skiing is on Thursday nights..he will be distraught and his other day is Sundays and we all know it rains a lot on Sundays cause of @theprogram40 points

@eaf and I must voice our opinions now since Blue management regularly reads PASR and would be devastated to lose future season pass money from 2 loyal customers. By posting here we DO make a difference, like when Blue changed their mind about the Vail deal because of the negative impact it would have on PASR tailgating and parking lot festivites, as discussed here.0 points

If this happens, I might keep the Blue pass and also buy the Value Pass for Camelback just for night skiing, then re-examine where I want my season pass from going forward.0 points
