I let his dad visit him today as he is only allowed one visitor per day. He is out of ICU now and joking with the nurses. He is writing down all the nurses names and said he wants to get a cake with all their names on it when he is released. So things are looking up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk13 points

First day and the sixth day are free. Visits 2 through 5 are 50% off midweek...25% off weekend / holiday. Will probably end up running about $300 for 6 days (50 a day)...my daughter a little less. Plan right now is to swing up to WF in Dec and March.... sprinkle in a few days at belle in between. We'll see. Sent from my Nokia 5.3 using Tapatalk3 points

I’m getting unofficial reports that NJ will close all schools from before thanksgiving until after MLK weekend. If that’s the case we will live in the POKES this winter and get out on the hill every afternoon during the week, if the hills are open.3 points

Cheapest airfare I found to Jackson hole flying out of Allentown and connecting through Chicago. Jackson hole is offering a $300 credit if you book airfare, lodging and lift ticket through then so the airfare is essentially free. Wow. Lift ticket prices have gone up a lot..7 day is about $1,000. I miss the golden ticket days where it was 40-50% off with season pass.2 points

I picked up some black diamond mittens for stupid cheap. Last year's colorway saved me about $50! Mine have a more reddish brown than these.2 points

I would have to agree with this. For everyday beyond the current day, the forecast loses 10% accuracy. so Saturdays (3 days from now) forecast is about 70% accurate. That being said, if you ignore the sunny/partly cloudy/rain/snow part of the forecast, and look at strictly temperature, it becomes more accurate. Its bizzare to say that Thanksgiving day will be mostly cloudy with a shower at noon at this point, but its not out of the question to say its going to be about 45 degrees that day.2 points

Who knows. If they open I will be there. Doesn't take any planning to do a day trip. Life is too short not to ski every viable weekend November to April. So you figuring no PA before December?2 points

I made my 5 reservation for Alta/Snowboard and did an A-Basin reservation. Super easy to do. I'm pumped to be a vegabond in Colorado/Utah for December-January'ish.2 points

Yes from 12/26-2/15, if it continues we will definitely be heading North, South or West until April 1st when my business fires up for the season.1 point

Do you have a place in the Poconos already? If I was at liberty to move anywhere for the winter for proximity to skiing 7 days a week I can't say the poconos would be in the running.1 point

I do actually have a debit/check card in my wallet. Is it an ATM card as well? i think so, but i havent used the thing since like February, and i was never a big fan of going to an ATM to take out money. I always used it for groceries. Why? i have no idea. now i just put everything on the CC, because most times you can just wave it at the machine, or toss it in the card reader without having to touch the pin pad. Its probably time for me to shred it. And Carbon County is way low. But i would bet there would be an influx of people over the winter. I doubt that POC is the only one thinking of doing that.1 point

As soon as I saw this post it looked familiar. Bottom left on the back should say "IDEMIA4 73..." Your bank just ordered 2000 more of them and they are currently in production in Colombia. Super basic card. No chip, no antenna. Just a basic HiCo black magstripe.1 point

Steezy...your area doesn’t seem to be that bad with Covid cases. My friend who’s a Philly teacher is renting a house in Ventnor until May for cheap(only $1,000 a month plus utilities) and she’s loving it and they’ll likely be virtual the entire school year.1 point

I was wondering on plane tickets, rental cars, hotels...a lot of my takeout orders I pay online with credit card...plus I rack up a silly amount of points..double points for hotels and restaurants. The only thing I really use cash for is weed and on group trips it is nice for paying share of bill. Oh yeah and some of the yoccos locations are cash only and of course they have an ATM with like a $3.50 service fee. I believe on my main credit card, the payment is due around 25 days after the billing cycle is over so you essentially have a 3-7 week interest free loan...1 point

I know most people probably don't care because it's a snowboard...but I'll be picking up another board from Buckman's this week....Capita Outerspace Living - love my other Capita board that I bought used, but it's getting pretty beat up at this point. Between the pre-season sale and the store credit from the tent sale (should be processed by now), I'll only end up paying about $275 for the board.1 point

Our school district just announced they will be 100% remote learning until at least January. They said they can no longer handle schools on an individual basis. They were really trying to keep k-2 in person as studies have shown that age bracket does the worst with remote learning. My son’s lung collapsed again and he had the surgery to fuse it to his chest wall yesterday and is now in ICU. Now I am just really concerned about COVID for him. I have been careful myself, but now I feel I should up my game even more since he is in my bubble.0 points
