You would be fine at DV and would have a blast skiing there. The groomers are fantastic. Take a moment to ride the funicular up to St. Regis and get yourself a drink by a fire pit. Avoid Alta.

My advice is to book something right away for the city pair you are interested in. Worst case you change your mind, cancel, and get the funds back with the same expiration date. But they have been rearranging flights like crazy, and when they do (it might have to be by more than a certain amount of time) you can rebook for different flights, even different days, for no additional $ as long as you don’t change the city pair. i booked those Denver flights for me and pops and like 5 days later got an email that they had changed he flight times by like 2 hours and invited me to rebook. The change was actually to a better time for us, but I was still able to go in and get the morning non-stop instead of the afternoon which was originally significantly more expensive.

Please for the love of all that is skiing do not take the flight to Tampa. Utah is by far the most convenient western destination for skiing. A few hour flight, grab the rental car, and be booting up an hour later (depending on flight times of course)

layover in tampa is not worth saving $80 over. american is usually not the cheapest, but their flights out of philly to SLC are usually at times. I'm sure flight schedules are all sorts of wacky right now, but their ~6:30pm out of philly would get you into SLC a little before 10pm mountain time, so you could essentially save one vacation day that you would have otherwise used for traveling. then do redeye on the way back if you're really trying to milk it. i have about $350 in southwest credit, not sure what i'm going to do with it yet. maybe we get lucky and one/all the vaccines pan out sooner rather than later and we return to pseudo normalcy by mid ski season and i'll use it for a late season trip somewhere. who knows?

I let his dad visit him today as he is only allowed one visitor per day. He is out of ICU now and joking with the nurses. All the flyertalk has me itchy to fly...Hanging out in a Florida airport for a couple hours on the way to the Rocky Mountains sounds rad. Longest travel back from Jackson hole took about 54 hours door to door...Jackson to Denver then an overnight in Denver followed by Denver to Arlington VA Reagan airport overnight in Arlington..6 hours of delay for a 45 minute flight to Newark..I think I got economy plus though so at least I wasn’t in Kansas Bahahaha just over it at some point

I'm not counting on skiing this season. We'll be lucky if we get a few weeks in. I might buy a mountain bike and ride all winter, and will also check into cross-country skiing. You should come with!

Sadly, one year ago they were making snow at both Blue and BB. Currently 50 degrees and rain. No great snowmaking temps for a little while yet. 2020 continues to suck.

What's up with Gasoline ? I went to Disney for a bit with my daughter and mad stations were straight up 70s style out of gas. I'm not aware of any refinery shut downs or supply interruptions but it was pretty weird to see so many with even 87.
